Why us? 2 There are many excellent yoga teacher trainings on offer currently, but Embodied Dancer aims to offer a unique experience. Our core values are: Small is beautiful! Numbers are limited to 12. This enables an excellent tutor–student ratio and means you will receive higher levels of supervision and feedback than on most larger TT’s. Professional expertise The faculty between them share over 100 years of movement, yoga and dance experience and are experts in their respective fields with links into professional practice. Learning experience All our modules are of post-graduate level and are written and produced with supporting materials to the highest standards via an online learning environment. We support you whilst encouraging active learning and self-enquiry. Training as research This teacher training will enable students to develop as specialists who can help to grow the small but increasingly important field of research into yoga and its application in the field of dance, performance and education. Who is this course suitable for? 3 If you are already a dancer, dance educator, physiotherapist, movement practitioner or dance teacher who wants to incorporate yoga principles into your work then this course is for you. If you are already qualified as a yoga teacher at the 200-hour level and wish to delve deeper into a specialised area such as dance or performance then this course is for you, as you can gain accreditation at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance UK. Due to the expectation that you will already be a dance or teaching professional, the course will be held at a higher level than most yoga teacher trainings, since applicants will already possess a strong understanding of the human body, movement principles and pedagogical methods from previous dance training and careers. Pre-requisites: Previous yoga teacher training, experience of teaching movement or dance, physiotherapy or movement therapy qualifications or similar. All participants are expected to have an established yoga practice, evidence of which must be supported by an interview or practice day, or by taking part in one of our tutors’ open classes. Details of all teachers’ timetables are available on their individual websites. We encourage you to ask us questions in advance to determine if this course is a fit for you – and us! Who will you be taught by? The faculty is comprised of highly experienced teachers, trainers who been practising and teaching yoga for many years in a variety of traditions. Some of us are also dancers and performers and so understand the demands and workings of the profession. As course mentors, our teachers will provide warm, supportive and professional guidance, and you will have the opportunity to take part in classes with us, as well as observe and assist, the cornerstone of your development as a teacher
