boulder, Alida dragged herself into a sitting position, determined<br />
to face her death with her head held high. The Hunter stalked forward,<br />
his crossbow slung around his shoulder, and drew his machete. He approached<br />
lazily, letting Alida know he was completely in control, that she<br />
was at his mercy.<br />
But he stopped. He stood still as a statue, fear shining in his eyes. Taking<br />
his fear as a blessing, Alida rolled onto her stomach, and tried to pull herself<br />
to her feet. Until she heard it. Until she heard the deep growl of a wild<br />
cat. The growl of a panther.
