Elks Home - Bedford
Free
Join Bedford County Parks and Recreation for a visit with
Santa. Children are invited o enjoy a free breakfast. Parents are
welcome to have a cup of coffee while their children visit with
Santa. There is no charge but we ask that you please bring a gift
of canned food to be donated to needy families in the
community.
Senior Picnic
Wednesday, October 5th
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Join Bedford County Parks and Recreation for a Fall Senior
Picnic! Bedford County Sheriffs Office will be providing
Hamburgers and Hot Dogs while Parks and Recreation will
furnish the sides and drinks. Entertainment and door prizes
throughout the afternoon!

Class Schedule:
Classes are held at the Falling Creek Center 1257 County Farm Rd. in Bedford. Classes
are broken up into a fall and spring semester. Fall semester classes are traditional
classes where students are taught technique and correct form in their specific style.
Spring semester classes are where students put the form and technique together and
learn choreography to perform at the recital.
Fall classes begin on September 9 and end December 10.
No class October 28 & 29 (Fall Break)
No class November 25 & 26 for Thanksgiving,
Winter Break December 16- January 5
Spring Classes start January 6
Recital: March 31 & April 1 in a location TBD.*
*Tentative dates: a finalized schedule & dates will be sent out the week before classes
begin. The schedule will be from September through December then another one sent
out during winter break for the spring.
Enrollment Pricing:
Monthly Tuition:
Tuition is due by 11:59 PM on the first Saturday of the month.
Tuition price is per student.
1 class: $60
2 classes: $70
One-Time Cost:
$20 enrollment fee, due at registration.
$50 costume payment. (Payment is per dancer, per class. Half due in December
and half due in February).
$15 t-shirt cost. (Price is per shirt due in December).
Class wear will also need to be purchased and is not included in enrollment
price. Praise Him Dance Academy sells class wear needed including tights,
leotard, shoes and skirts.
ATHLETICS
Basketball Registration
Bedford County Parks and Recreation is offering youth
basketball for ages 5-18. League age is as of October 1st
of the current year. Age groups are as follows.
Instructional Ages 5-6
Mini (Coed) Ages 7-8
Pee Wee Ages 9-10
Little Ages 11-12
Junior Ages 13-14

Ages 15-18 (18 year olds must be in high school to participate)

October 3rd - November 4th at the Bedford County Parks and Recreation Office
located at 1257 County Farm Rd. in Bedford.
Registration fee: $40.00 per participant.

Senior Bingo
4th Thursday of the Month
Bedford Moose Lodge
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
If you are 50 years or older and like to socialize and play Bingo,
then this is the place for you. The Bedford County Parks and
Recreation Department offers Bingo on the 4th Thursday of the
month from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Bedford Moose Lodge.
Cost is $1.00 per card with a limit of 4 cards per person. For more
information please contact the Recreation office at 586-7682 or
come by our office at 1257 County Farm Rd. Bedford.
Senior Christmas Social

Bedford County Parks and Recreation offers a free line dancing
class that meets at the County Gym on Tuesdays at 10:00AM. If
you are interested please call 540.586.7682 for more information.
Tai Chi
Tuesday's (11:15 a.m.) and Thursdays(10:00 a.m.)
Bedford County Gym
Tai Chi promotes balance, flexibility, strength and focus for its
practitioners. Classes for seniors are every Tuesday from 11:15
a.m. – 12:15 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the
Bedford County Gym 1059 County Farm Rd. Bedford, VA Fee is
$20.00 per month paid directly to the instructor. Contact

AARP Driver Safety Course
Monday & Wednesday
October 3 & October 5
(Must attend both days for full credit)
8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Bedford County Parks and Recreation office
Sponsored by AARP, the friendly and knowledgeable instructor
will guide you through this course in a fun and casual
atmosphere. Pre-registration is required by calling the Bedford
County Parks and Recreation office at (540) 586-7682. $20.00 for
AARP Members (Bring AARP card) $25.00 for Non-Members.
Please bring drivers license, sweater and a check to AARP the first
day of class.
COOPERATIVE EXTENSION
PROGRAMS
4-H Fall Day Camp Series

Time: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Cost: $10.00 per camp (registration required)
For youth ages 5-10
While kids are out of school, join us for some fun!!
Join us in September for Food, Fun & Fitness, October
for Agriculture Explorations, and/or November for
Craftin’ and Fun. Participants must pack a lunch, but
snacks, materials, activities, and fun will be provided!!

4-H Camp Christmas
Join us for our 3rd Annual 4-H Camp Christmas and
have the opportunity to GIVE the GIFT of CAMP this
Christmas!!
Purchase a Camp Christmas Box for $13 to gift to a
child, grandchild, neighbor, or friend! Boxes include
Camp Christmas t-shirt, STEM activities, art activities,
and family recipes – along with major materials needed
to complete the projects.
Sign-ups will be released in early November.

Family Nutrition Program
Preparing healthy foods on a limited budget is possible! Have fun learning about
nutrition while creating low-cost recipes that are delicious and nutritious.
Participants will get to sample food, take home recipes, and more!
We encourage everyone to apply for this program, including low-income
individuals and those receiving SNAP and/or other benefits.
