What’s going on in the market?
ALLYL CAPROATE (ALLY HEXANOATE)
Widely used for food flavouring and lipstick perfumes,
Allyl caproate (Ally hexanoate) remains at high levels since
Q1. Due to the price increase of the feedstock material and
to recent exchange rates, market prices will remain stable
for the next 2-3 months.
ANETHOLE NATURAL MIN 21°C
Anethole is a colourless, fragrant, mildly volatile liquid.
Immediately recognizable on the nose, widely spread in
the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The low
harvest of star anise oil has long been causing the increase
of anethol’s price. In fact, still today the constant demand
and the shortage of supply leads us to face a high price,
which will most likely remain there for the next 2-3 months.
ALPHA PINENE/BETA PINENE
The price of alpha pinene and beta pinene is closely connected with
Turpentine. It is predicted on the market that the price of Gum turpentine
can decline slightly before the end of this year, therefore for industry used
pinene the price is decreasing. Meanwhile the fragrances used special quality
pinene, the price is stable.

Palm fruit oil and palm seed oil (the latter also called palm
kernel oil) are vegetable oils obtained from oil palms.
The use of palm oil has grown steadily in recent years,

raw material in various sectors, such as cosmetics. For this
reason, has emerged the need to provide precise standards that can
promote the growth and use of palm oil-based products resulting from
the responsible management of oil palm plantations that have now
become so important for numerous production chains.

WHAT IS RSPO?
RSPO – Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil
is a non-profit association that aims to promote the cultivation and use of sustainable palm oil through global certification standards.
The main objective of RSPO is therefore to encourage not only the cultivation but also the use of sustainable palm
oil in order to reduce the environmental and social impacts resulting from the cultivation of this type of oil.
The RSPO certification is therefore the main international sustainability standard that guarantees the production
and trade of palm oil obtained without damaging the living conditions of the communities and local biodiversity.
To promote this kind of sustainable business, RSPO has four different types of models/certifications:
• Preservation of identity
• Segregation
• Mass balance
• Book and Claim
While the first three models allow the physical control of palm oil throughout the supply chain, the last supports the
production of sustainable palm oil through the sale of certificates.
