LIQUI MOLY Stars: introducing
Duarte Benavente, F2 boat driver!
T
he second guest from our LM Stars feature is 2020 UIM F2
World Champion Duarte Benavente. Currently competing in
the same category, the 51-year-old keeps being one of the
most competitive drivers of the pack. Born in Lisboa and residing in
beautiful Azeitão, Duarte started his relationship with the sport in 1989
by the influence of his father, a former powerboat driver. Competing
in the lower classes of powerboating, he quickly established a name
for himself and hasn‘t stopped ever since! In only the first year of his
LIQUI MOLY relationship, Duarte kept his chances alive of winning the
2022 world championship until the latter rounds of the season, with
misfortune playing its part. But none of that takes away our awe at
this fantastic competition and our pride in having him represent our
brand. To obtain the best results, he admits LIQUI MOLY is an integral
partner of the project.

Duarte‘s boat is a Moore equipped
with a Mercury engine with 220 hp
that can reach speeds of around 240
km/h. Experience, a good team and
quality suppliers, sponsors & partners
are crucial to get results in this
sport. The UIM regulations limit the
power of the engine to ensure parity
between the participants. To be fast,
drivers need to monitor the wind, influence
the boat‘s angles through the
power trim, decide if they need ballast
for a better overall balance and even
try different types of propeller.

LIQUI MOLY powers the UIM F2 World
Championship round in Baião
PORTUGAL
Afantastic venue in Portugal‘s Ribadouro region, the municipality
of Baião hosted the penultimate round of the UIM F2 World
Championship. Taming the magnificent Douro‘s waters in
Albufeira da Pala over three days of sunny weather were 17 of the
fastest boat drivers in the world, including LIQUI MOLY‘s Duarte
Benavente, who once again showed why he is one of the best in this
category. The final round is just around the corner, in Vila Velha de
Ródão, between the 17th and 18th of September.

eld in Torres Vedras, the penultime race of the 17th edition of
the Portuguese Yamaha Trophy had three of our customers
participating with their bikes and our LIQUI MOLY lubricants
and bike care products. On this twisty track in the Lisbon district,
Gonçalo Correia (250 cc) and Tiago Correia (125 cc) had great
performances, while Santiago “Santi“ Pereira (85 cc) even took our
brand to the podium. Congrats, boys!

Opened in 2021 by Carlos Pereira, Mccann Tyres is a quick
service and tire replacement workshop that rapidly expanded
to a second unit and more services. After a few visits from our
commercial team, the management showed interest in LIQUI MOLY‘s
DPF cleaning solution, which is already available to their customers.
With the demand growing daily after some incredible results, we
can‘t wait to see what the future holds for all parties.

action at Carrera‘s Cup 5th round!

The Autódromo Internacional de Codegua once again hosted
a round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Chile. Mas this time the
event itself was named the LIQUI MOLY Grand Prix! As in
previous rounds of the competition, we were the official lubricant
supplier and had our logos highlighted in all cars and more
prominently in the #22 of Carlos Ruiz, who won the first race and
