Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong> Impact<br />

Broadening our outreach to regional and national audiences is crucial as we<br />

enter this new chapter of the TWU story as the nation’s first woman-focused<br />

university system. This outreach includes Chancellor Feyten’s tireless advocacy for<br />

a woman-focused education and the direct and transformative impact women’s<br />

educational opportunities have on society.<br />

Chancellor Feyten is committed to strengthening the special bond with alumni,<br />

including those who live outside the university’s traditional, regional borders.<br />

In the last year, well-attended events, hosted in Washington, D.C. and Seattle,<br />

helped many reconnect to the university and each other, in a fun and informative<br />

environment. The Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong> enables these essential and beneficial<br />

outreach efforts.<br />

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH<br />

The Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong> supports faculty development and improvements to<br />

students’ educational access and learning outcomes. Resources provided by the<br />

Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong> assist with grant workshops for faculty, so they can prepare the<br />

most competitive proposals for external funding opportunities. Grants can make a<br />

big difference and provide funding support for important research in areas such as<br />

health care and social services for low-income women and children to identifying<br />

more effective ways to treat cancer.<br />

Grant proposals like “Reimagining and Improving Student Equity in Nursing,” focus<br />

on the expansion of the TWU College of Nursing’s BSN program. The proposed<br />

expansion includes graduating 360 BSN students from the Denton campus,<br />

implementation of wrap-around support services and strategic initiatives designed<br />

to increase the number of enrolled minority and low-income students. This is<br />

just one of many great examples of the Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong> support at work while<br />

improving the TWU educational experience.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS<br />

With more than 73% of TWU students receiving some form of financial aid,<br />

scholarships are needed more now than ever to support the changing needs of<br />

a diverse and often underprepared student population. The Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong><br />

provides critical financial support as part of the university system’s commitment<br />

to graduating thriving citizens. That effort has not gone unrecognized. TWU was<br />

recently named to Forbes “Top College List,” which spotlights 500 colleges and<br />

universities offering an excellent education at an affordable price and graduates<br />

successful leaders in their fields.<br />

The Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong> Fund is designed to contribute to these initiatives and<br />

others and to provide vital financial aid. By joining the Chancellor’s <strong>Circle</strong>, you<br />

are providing pivotal support to TWU faculty, students and programs.
