the Premier League and at the top end of the
Championship. Outside of today’s game, we wish
him and the club well.
Unfortunately, during last week’s game at
Birmingham, we did manage to pick up some
injuries, with Jake Clarke-Salter, Tyler Roberts and
Stefan Johansen all having to go off. The good
news on that front, however, is that we’re hopeful
of having Jimmy Dunne available again today – and
of course it was great to see Chris Willock back
in the squad for our game at Norwich the other
night.
Chris brings us another dimension, you could see
that when he came on at Carrow Road and I felt
it was an excellent performance from the entire
team. That looked more like the real QPR, showing
plenty of energy, effort and grit. We maintained
our defensive shape, as well as pressing when we
didn’t have the ball – areas where we were maybe
lacking a bit in the two previous away games at
Luton and Birmingham. We created chances and
could maybe have taken one or two of those, but
at the other end Seny was outstanding again and
it was a good point for us to earn away to a strong
team, one that could be extremely valuable when
we look back on it later in the season. We have
to make sure we build on that and maintain high
standards again this afternoon.
As we approach Remembrance Sunday, it’s
important and appropriate that we take a moment
to pay tribute to those brave men and women who
made the ultimate sacrifice in years gone by. I’m
sure you’ll join the players, staff and supporters in
showing our respect for them before kick-off.
