recent addition of the Crayola Experience attraction and 

will be welcoming SCHEELS, an attraction-filled destination 

sports store in fall 2023.

boasts 300+ days of sunshine a year. 

From biking and hiking to fishing, 

golfing, running and horseback riding, 

opportunities for outdoor play are 

endless in Chandler. And, just outside 

the city there are even more chances 

to explore the state’s lakes by kayak 

and paddleboard, and its mountains by 

trail. Here are a few ways to explore the 

outdoors in Chandler. 


On Horseback 

The Koli Equestrian Center, 

near Wild Horse Pass on the 

Gila River Indian Community 

Reservation, offers a number of 

ways for riders to engage with 

its horses, including trail rides, 

and carriage, hay and wagon 

rides. Private and group trail 

rides are offered year-round and 

give riders a chance to interact 

with the desert around them, 

which may include a possible 

sighting of wild horses that roam 

that area. The Center also offers 

horsemanship classes, birthday

In Sneakers 

If fitness is on the agenda, 

Chandler hosts a number of fun 

runs and several for those more 

serious runners. 131 Events offers 

a series of playful 5K runs that 

make exercise fun for the whole

#AZ48 Half Marathon & 5K to 

the light-hearted Donut Judge 

Me 5K, which is always popular 

and, of course, includes donuts

A desert hike is one of the

Serrano’s Mexican
