GOLD GEESE
#WEFLYTOGETHER
Gold Geese is a small local charity supporting children
and young people fighting cancer in the Southend
and Basildon areas. It was set up by local mum Katie
Southgate in 2018 after her own child’s cancer diagnosis,
and provides tailored support to each family, including
siblings and parents.
Gold Geese support ranges from funding for mental
health therapy and food shop vouchers, to toys, weekend
trips away and practical help with hospital transfers.
The charity also raises awareness of childhood cancer
signs and symptoms, delivers training workshops to
childcare practitioners and parents, and encourages
people to donate blood and register as potential bone
marrow donors if they are able to.
Gold Geese receives no Government funding and relies
on community donations for its work.
Our slogan is We Fly Together, because geese are a team
and no one is left behind.

Tuesday to Thursday we run a range of amazing art clubs.
Budding younger artists (primary age) can join our A-Z of Artists
hourly sessions on Tuesday or Thursday at 4:3-pm. For those 11+
we have Future Fine Artists and Art Hub Tuesday and Wednesday
4:30-6pm. These classes allow more experimentation of styles
and media and can help build sketchbook portfolios. Junior
dressmaking is also available Wednesdays and Thursdays at
4-5:30pm where everything from cushions, to PJs and ball gowns
have been made!

Create98 is an art and craft studio in the heart
