uyumuyoruz!

We are rather dushing. As the last destination of

the current year, we en route to Moscow for Mebel

Expo. In fact, 2022 has been a year of running

too fast for us. We have prepared even a busier program for

2023. We are scheduled to take our magazines to a wide

geography from America to China, from India to Frankfurt,

Dubai, Telford-UK, Moscow, Milan and more.

With so much efforts, we are serving both wings of the

sleep products industry: to the machinery, technology and

materials sector with SLEEP TECH magazine and to the

main industry, that is, to mattress manufacturing. We are

also serving the trade fair industry of sector. We announce

their list with detail info to the industry professionals while

we are performing our own magazine works. That’s why

almost all leading brands of the industry respect our work

and work with us. We express our special thanks and gratitude

to all leading brands that have made us a global brand

in the publishing industry.

So, we are not sleeping in order people sleep better.

için Moskova’ya doğru yola çıkıyoruz. Aslında 2022 bizim

planlıyoruz.

Anatolia’s largest

furniture fair was

held in Kayseri

Anadolu’nun en büyük mobilya

fuarı Kayseri’de yapıldı

Governor Gökmen Çiçek, speaking at the opening

of the fair organized by Nobel Expo Fairs at the

OIZ International Fair Center, stated that although

Kayseri does not have large forest areas, it ranks first in

Turkey in furniture production and export.

Çiçek expressed that the business people of the city

work tirelessly and without complaint under all circumstances.

Kayseri OIZ President Mehmet Yalçın also stated that

he is happy to host an important fair organization in

Kayseri.

Yalçın, noting that Kayseri is the leader of Turkey in the

furniture sector, declared that the heart of the furniture

sector beats in Kayseri OIZ.

Yalçın, stating that the furniture sector constituted

about one fourth of the exports from Kayseri last year,

said:

“About 300 companies, which have been known in

the sector and are very large in terms of production

capacity, are established in our region. That such a

large fair organization is arranged in Kayseri, that many

companies participated in the fair, and that the local and

foreign guests will visit our fair are also very luck for us.

I wish the fair to be successful for all our participating

companies”

Nobel Expo Fuarcılık tarafından OSB Uluslararası Fuar

Merkezi’nde düzenlenen fuarın açılışında konuşan Vali

Gökmen Çiçek, Kayseri’nin geniş orman sahalarına sahip

olmamasına rağmen mobilya üretiminde ve ihracatında

Türkiye’nin ilk sırasında yer aldığını belirtti.

Çiçek, kentin iş insanlarının her koşulda şikâyet etmeden,

yorulmadan çalıştığını dile getirdi.

Kayseri OSB Başkanı Mehmet Yalçın da Kayseri’de önemli

bir fuar organizasyonuna ev sahipliği yapmaktan mutluluk

duyduğunu ifade etti.

fair in Anatolia, was held in

Kayseri.

Fuarı (ANAMOB) Kayseri’de

düzenlendi.

Kayseri’nin, mobilya sektöründe Türkiye’nin lideri

konumunda bulunduğuna dikkati çeken Yalçın, mobilya

sektörünün kalbinin Kayseri OSB’de attığını belirtti.

Geçen yıl Kayseri’den gerçekleştirilen ihracatın yaklaşık

4’te 1’ini mobilya sektörünün oluşturduğunu anlatan

Yalçın, şunları kaydetti:

“Sektörde adını duyurmuş, üretim kapasitesi bakımından

oldukça büyük firmaların yer aldığı yaklaşık 300

kadar firma, bölgemizde kurulu bulunmakta. Kayseri’de

böylesine büyük bir fuar organizasyonun düzenlenmesi,

çok sayıda firmanın fuarda yer alması, yerli ve yabancı

konukların fuarımızı ziyaret edecek olması da bizler için

ayrı bir şanstır. Fuarın tüm katılımcı firmalarımız için

başarılı geçmesini diliyorum.”

Konuşmaların ardından Vali Gökmen Çiçek, Sanayi Odası

Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Mehmet Büyüksimitci, Ticaret

Odası Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Ömer Gülsoy’un da katılımıyla

açılış kurdelesi kesildi.

9 Ekim’e kadar açık olacak fuarda, bahçe mobilyasından

yatak odasına, salon takımından yemek odasına, genç

odasından ofis mobilyalarına kadar pek çok ürün çeşidi

yer alıyor.

Chamber of Industry and Ömer Gülsoy Chairman of the

Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce.

Rusya, Azerbaycan, Kosova, Kazakistan, Dubai, Libya’nın

da aralarında olduğu 26 ülkeden mobilya alıcıları da ilgi

gösteriyor.

In the fair, which will be open until October 9, many

product types from garden furniture to bedroom, living

room set to dining room, youth room to office furniture

are taking place.

Furniture buyers from 26 countries, including Germany,

Iraq, Belgium, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, Kazakhstan,

Dubai and Libya, also show interest in the fair where

173 companies take place.

However, the ‘real’ rate of recycling – the fate of the mattresses

or their components and materials after sorting

and processing – is rather lower (an estimated 14%).

And since the most common means of managing the

76% of EoL mattresses not going for recycling is still

landfill, the NBF’s target of 75% diversion from landfill

by 2028 looks set to be missed without significant intervention

in the form of an Extended Producer Responsibility

scheme.

Says Simon Spinks, chairman of the Harrison Spinks

Group and of the NBF’s Circular Economy Committee:

has revealed a 5% increase in

the number of mattresses being

sent for recycling between

2017 and 2021, to 24% of

the estimated 6.4 million

mattresses reaching End of Life

“The positive take from this new report is that, in the

eight years since we have been looking at the data, the

proportion of End of Life mattresses sent for recycling

has more than doubled – from just 10% to around 24%.

“Less good news is that the real rate of recycling is

significantly lower and we are still a long way short of

our target of 75% diversion from landfill in the next six

years. It is clear to us that intervention in the form of an

Extended Producer Responsibility Scheme is required.”

‘The 2022 End of Life (EoL) Mattress Report’, produced

on behalf of the NBF (the trade association representing

UK and Irish bed manufacturers and their component

suppliers) by environmental consultants Oakdene

Hollins, sets out not only to report the numbers, but also

to identify the opportunities and challenges involved

in accelerating the pace of change to achieve the NBF’s

75% diversion from landfill goal in the next six years.

Based on detailed analysis of published data plus

surveys and interviews carried out with local authorities,

manufacturers, retailers and recyclers, the report

identifies key areas for improvement include collection,

reprocessing, developing end markets for recovered materials

and designing with EoL in mind. The report also

aims to show how an Extended Producer Responsibility

(EPR) scheme for mattresses would facilitate a more

F’nun %75’lik çöp sahasından sapma hedefini sağlamak

için değişim hızını arttırmayla ilgili fırsatları ve zorlukları

tespit etmeyi de gösteriyor.

comprehensive and harmonised approach to the management

of mattress EoL, providing the revenue and

incentives to develop the collection and reprocessing

infrastructure, achieve a more environmentally sound

treatment of collected products and increased material

recovery rates for all materials, and drive product

design improvements.

The NBF has already worked closely with Zero Waste

Scotland on an outline business case for EPR for mattresses,

which has recommended a UK wide, industry

led, mandatory scheme as being the most viable option.

This would support the ambitions of mattress manufacturers

and retailers, the ongoing operations of recyclers,

and bolster collection and recycling capacity. The alternative

case would likely see the UK mattress industry

reach a troublesome bottleneck.

UYF, Birleşik Krallık genelinde en uygun seçenek olarak

endüstri kaynaklı zorunlu bir planı tavsiye ettiği yataklarla

ilgili EPR için bir taslak olurluk incelemesi üzerinde

Zero Waste Scotland ile önceden yakın bir şekilde

çalışmıştı. Bu, yatak imalatçılarının ve perakendecilerin

isteklerini, geri dönüşümcülerin devam eden operasyonlarını

cesaretlendirecek ve toplama ve geri dönüşüm

In the report, collection of EoL mattresses was deemed

one of the most crucial areas to be addressed by stakeholders.

Although take back schemes operated by retailers

have seen, and are expected, to continue to grow, the

bulk of EoL mattresses are handled by local authorities,

either at their HWRC sites or through their own bulky

waste collections. The performance of these around the

country remains haphazard, with the lack of incentives

to recycle mattresses frequently cited.

While some mattresses recyclers are achieving high

rates of ‘real’ recycling and demonstrating best practice

and the potential capabilities of the sector, others are

focusing only on recovering the steel, with access to

end markets dependent on economies of steel and still

potentially highly volatile.

A third area the report addresses is how manufacturers

can improve EoL fates by designing their new products

with increased circularity in mind – for, example by

using more recycled materials and designing for ease of

assembly.

To encourage this process the NBF is in the process of

rolling out to its members its ecodesign assessment

toolkit. This aims to encourage a more circular approach

to product development and, ultimately, a standardised

approach to verifying ecodesign claims based on internationally

recognised definitions.

The ecodesign toolkit goes hand in hand with the NBF’s

efforts to help improve the rates of recycling of mattresses

through the introduction of its ‘NBF Pledge for

the Planet’. This is a voluntary pledge for members who

wish to improve the sustainability of their products,

from design to end of life. The willingness of members

to move towards more sustainable ways of working

will help recycling rates of mattresses to increase in the

future.

DOMESTIC DEALER NETWORK IS EXPANDING

FURTHER

Balcı, also sharing information about the domestic dealership

process, said that Weltew Yatak stores in Bursa,

Istanbul, Erzurum and Kocaeli will be opened until

the end of 2022. It is planned to open 75 new stores in

every region from Istanbul to Trabzon, from Samsun to

The sector professionals showed great interest in

IBIA Expo-Bedding Sub-Industry and Technologies

Fair, the first and only fair of its sector in

Turkey, which was held in Istanbul Expo Center between

6 and 9 October, and held with the participation

of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank,

and organized by Birleşik Fuar Yapım, Inc. (BİFAŞ) and

with the support of the International Mattress Industry

Association (IBIA), International Fair Producers Association

(UFYD) and KOSGEB.

PRAISE FROM MINISTER VARANK TO THE SECTOR

Mustafa Varank, Industry and Technology Minister,

speaking at the opening of the fair, conveyed that the

latest technologies and innovative products were exhibited

at IBIA Expo 2022, where visitors from 24 countries,

special procurement committees from 10 target

countries, over 25 thousand visitors, professionals from

Europe, Middle East, America, North Africa, Russia and

Commonwealth of Independent States took part. Varank

said “The fair is the first fair of our country on mattress

components and technologies. Although it was held for

the first time this year, it is the largest fair in Eurasia

and the second largest in the world in its sector. We

believe that the fair will be one of the most important

meeting points of the sector from now on” and added

“It is easy for Turkey to dominate the mattress sector,

mattress sub-industry and technologies in the coming

period.” Minister Varank added that for this, it is

necessary to integrate artificial intelligence and digital

technologies into mattresses.

Osman Güler, Chairman of the Board of IBIA, expressing

that the opening of the fair is a historic day for their

sector, said “Our sector, which provides technology and

raw materials to mattress manufacturers, is among the

hidden heroes of our country’s economy. We brought

our sector, which is not very well known in our country,

to the stage with our international fair, which was held

for the first time in Turkey.” Osman Güler, sharing the

knowledge that the sector includes about 10 different

branches with machinery, fabric, spring, foam, yarn,

chemistry, fiber and other auxiliary products that supply

the mattress industry, said “As of today, the turnover

of our sector is 3 billion dollars; its export is around 2

billion dollars. We employ 25 thousand people in our

sector. In the light of these data, our sector that supplies

the mattress sector ranks second in the world after

China in terms of technology and sub-industry.”

arasındadır. Ülkemizde çok da bilinmeyen sektörümüzü

3 milyar dolar, ihra¬catı ise 2 milyar dolar civarında.

and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank said that visitors

IBIA EXPO 2022, which opened its doors on October

06-09 at the Istanbul Expo Center with the organization

of BİFAŞ, one of the largest exhibition companies in

Turkey, achieved significant successes. As it is known,

IBIA EXPO 22 is the first in Turkey in mattress components

and technologies, as well as being the largest

exhibition in Eurasia and the second largest in the world

at an international level. Industry and Technology Minister

Mustafa Varank, who attended the opening of the

Exhibition emphasized that the latest technologies and

innovative products were exhibited at IBIA Expo 2022,

Minister Varank also drew attention to the fact that IBIA

Association, made the following statement regarding

the Exhibition: “When we look at the numerical size of

the mattress sub-industry sector in Turkey, we are faced

with a very bright picture. The production of sectoral

companies in our country is 3 billion dollars and their

exports are 2 billion dollars. We have a huge employment

of 25 thousand people. Our goal is to reach new

records, 35 thousand jobs and an export figure of 3

billion dollars.” Güler added that they will hold the IBIA

EXPO 23 between September 28 and October 01.

Ümit Vural, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİFAŞ

Exhibition Organization, organizer of IBIA EXPO 22 in

his speech at the opening, said that although it is the

first and only Exhibition in its sector in Turkey, IBIA

EXPO 22 gained an international dimension in a short

time and became the largest Exhibition in Eurasia and

the second largest in the world in its sector. Vural said,

“One of our most important goals is to help the Turkish

mattress sub-industry sector, which has an important

place in the world, to become a global brand.”

IBIA EXPO 2022 is Turkey’s first in the field of mattress

components and technologies, as well as being

the biggest Exhibition of Eurasia at the international

level. It can be seen with numbers as well. IBIA EXPO 22

was visited by a total of 22 thousand 467 people, both

hava var. Hem organizasyon hem de katılımcılar anlamında

gayet profesyonel bir ekip var fuarda. Ziyaretçilerde de

yabancı müşteriler özellikle bizim beklediğimizden daha iyi.

Şu an dünyada gerek savaş gerek de salgın hastalıklar gibi

küresel sorunlar olsa da fuarımız gayet güzel gidiyor. Biz de

gayet memnunuz. Standımıza gelen ziyaretçilerin de fuara

bakış açılarının güzel olduğunu görüyoruz. Organizasyon

gayet hatasız devam ediyor.” İfadelerini kullandı.

Fuardaki ihracat potansiyeli ve yabancı ziyaretçi oranına

dikkat çeken Ömer Can Çolak ise röportajında şu ifadelere

Fuarın birçok ülkeden ziyaretçi aldığına dikkat çeken Katırcıgil,

bu husustan memnun olduklarını ifade ederek şunları

söyledi; “IBIA EXPO Fuarı ilk kez düzenlenmesine rağmen

sanki uzun yıllardır düzenleniyormuş gibi farklı ülkelerden

birçok ziyaretçi var. Sadece yatak değil diğer mobilya alanlarından

da katılım var var. İlk iki gün açısından söylemek

gerekirse gayet başarılı geçiyor. Sonraki iki günün de aynı

şekilde geçeceğini düşünüyoruz. Özellikle son iki günün hafta

sonuna denk geleceğini düşünürsek daha da yoğun geçeceği

kanaatindeyim. “

Karaca, expressing that they did not expect the fair

went so successfully, said; “First of all, I have to say that

this fair is a first for me as well. IBIA Fair was the first

fair I attended on my own behalf with my own company.

Frankly, I did not expect the fair to be so different

and so successful. The fair is very well prepared and

there are only glitches. Honestly, I didn’t expect so

many visitors to come. As far as I saw at a high level

in fairs in general, we would encounter customers we

already know and know in the sector. Unlike other fairs

I attended, I met a lot of new people. In addition, I realized

that very serious buyers from far away countries

participated in the fair. I saw that big buyers and big

players, especially from the UK and the USA, were at the

fair and I was really impressed. Mr. Ali Can expressed

that IBIA EXPO Fair can surpass the global fairs in this

field if it progresses by making addition of it. Karaca

repeated his previous criticism about space distribution

related to the fair organization, used the following

expressions in his interview; “Of course, there are other

points that I would like to mention. I had said it in my

previous reviews. I had a criticism about the place. I

think it is correct to place the big players that are in

the Turkish market in different parts of the fairground

instead of positioning them in a single spot at the next

fairs. Since the visitors will visit them directly, I think

they can visit other companies on the walking routes.

I think this will be an opportunity for medium-sized

companies that stand by the big players. Also, I am

not sure about its clarity, but it is said that the fair will

be held every other year. Personally, I am in favor of

organizing the fair once a year. If this fair continues like

this and advances by making addition, it will be much

more successful than the Interzum Cologne Fair held

in Germany. It is because I saw, for the first time, a fair

that was organized specifically for the mattress sector

and was so successful.”

oluyor. IBIA Fuarı, kendi şirketimle kendi adıma

katıldığım ilk fuar oldu. Açıkçası fuarın bu kadar farklı,

bu kadar başarılı olacağını beklemiyordum. Fuara çok

iyi hazırlanılmış ve sadece ufak tefek aksaklıklar var.

Açıkçası ben bu kadar çok ziyaretçinin geleceğini de

beklemiyordum. Benim genel olarak fuarlarda yüksek

seviyede gördüğüm kadarıyla sektörde zaten bildiğimiz,

tanıdığımız müşterilerle karşılaşırdık. Diğer katıldığım

fuarların aksine çok fazla yeni insanla tanıştım.

Ayrıca bu fuarda çok uzak ülkelerden çok ciddi alıcıların

fuara katıldığını fark ettim. Özellikle İngiltere ve

ABD’den büyük alıcıların, büyük oyuncuların fuarda

olduklarını gördüm ve çok etkilendim gerçekten.” Ali

Can Bey, üstüne koyarak ilerlediği takdirde IBIA EXPO

Fuarı’nın bu alandaki global fuarları geride bırakabileceğini

ifade etti. Fuar organizasyonuna ilişkin

daha önce yaptığı yer dağılımı eleştirisini yeniden dile

getiren Karaca, röportajında genel olarak şu ifadeleri

kullandı; “Tabi bir de değinmek istediğim farklı noktalar

da var. Daha önceki eleştirilerimde de söylemiştim.

Yer konusunda bir eleştirim vardı. Türkiye pazarında

yer alan büyük oyuncuların daha sonraki fuarlarda tek

bir noktaya konumlandırılması yerine fuar alanının

farklı bölgelerine yerleştirilmesinin doğru olduğunu

düşünüyorum. Gelen ziyaretçiler onları direkt olarak

ziyaret edeceğinden yürüyüş rotalarında yer alan diğer

firmaları da ziyaret edebilirler diye düşünüyorum.

Bu da büyük oyuncuların yanında yer alan orta ölçekli

firmalar açısından fırsat olur diye düşünüyorum. Bir

de netliğinden emin değilim ama fuarın iki senede bir

düzenleneceği söyleniyor. Ben şahsen fuarın senede bir

defa düzenlenmesinden yanayım. Bu fuar bu şekilde

devam eder ve üstüne koyarak ilerlerse Almanya’da

düzenlenen Interzum Köln Fuarından çok daha başarılı

olacaktır. Çünkü ben ilk defa yatak sektörüne özel

olarak düzenlenen ve bu kadar başarılı olan bir fuar

gördüm.”

Temel, sharing his predictions that the fair will light the way for

the sector for the next years and that it will carry the Turkish

in his interview; “As the fair is the first in general, it is very

good considering these. It is a promising fair for the next years.

We thought at first that we did not get the attention we expected,

but after seeing that the visitors were not crowded and there

were serious customers looking for alternatives to their business,

this situation made us feel that we were in an organization

IBIA PRESIDENT Güler: We will

make the IBIA EXPO Fair the largest

exhibition of the global mattress industry

Osman Güler, stated that he thinks

that the fair went very well in

general and that, as the president

of the association, he gained from

the ideas of the companies, the fair

will make a significant contribution

to export and domestic

production in terms of both the

number of visitors and the quality

of visitors, gave the following

statements in his interview; “We

thought much to organize this fair.

This fair is a fair that conduced to

establish the IBIA Association. As

soon as the association was established,

one of our first duties was to organize a fair. We worked

hard for the organization of this fair. All of my board members,

my colleagues and the fair organization committee, we attended

many sectoral fairs. We held B2B talks at these fairs. In these

meetings, we introduced this fair in detail to the mattress manufacturers.

Our expectations were high in this sense. As for how

the fair is going as of now. Actually, it wouldn’t be right for me

to comment on this. Our participant friends will make the most

accurate and unbiased interpretation of this. But I wanted to visit

all the exhibitors one by one and get their comments on the fair

for two days, almost without stopping by my own company’s

stand. I visited all the companies one by one to see if they had

criticisms about us, if we made a mistake, or if there was anything

we could do about the organization for them. Everyone congratulated

us and our team very much.”

Güler, stating that they were very tired during the organization of

the fair, but thanks to the positive comments they received from

both the participants and visitors, it was worth to be tired, continued

his words as follows; “We’ve heard some foreign visitors

said “We don’t need to go to other fairs anymore. We saw that

we can find everything in Turkey. After that, you need to enlarge

this fair much more. We think that this fair will be very effective”.

And let me tell you here for the first time; I aim to make this fair

the biggest fair of the global mattress industry. I am excited and

confident about it. Up to now, I’ve accomplished everything I

believed in. But of course I am not alone this time. Together we

will achieve this. I think you, as Sleeptech magazine, will contribute

a lot to this issue. As of this morning, a friend of ours who

has been dealing with fair organizations for years told me “I have

been dealing with fair organizations for years. I have never seen

before that a fair, held for the first time, was so full”. I am quite

happy with the results. As for my own company, Elektroteks,

we are achieving very good results as a company, according to

the information I received only from the company’s authorized

colleagues”

Fuarın genel olarak çok iyi geçtiği kanısında

olduğunu ve dernek başkanı olarak firmaların

fikirlerinden edindiği kadarıyla gerek ziyaretçi

sayısı gerek de ziyaretçi kalitesi açısından fuarın

ihracat ve yurtiçi üretime ciddi katkı sağlayacağını

ifade eden Osman Güler, röportajında şu

ifadelere yer verdi; “Bu fuarı organize etmek için

çok düşündük. IBIA Derneğinin kurulmasına vesile

olan bir fuar bu fuar. Dernek kurulur kurulmaz

da tabi ilk görevlerimizden biri de fuar organizasyonu

yapmaktı. Bu fuarı organizasyonu için çok

çalıştık. Tüm yönetim kurulu üyeleri arkadaşlarım

ve fuar organizasyon komitesi olarak birçok sektörel

fuara katıldık. Bu fuarlarda be to be görüşmeler

yaptık. Bu görüşmelerde yatak üreticilerine

detaylı şekilde bu fuarı anlattık. Bu anlamda da

beklentilerimiz yüksekti. Fuarın an itibariyle nasıl

geçtiğine gelince. Esasında bu konuda yorum yapmam

pek doğru olmaz. Buna ilişkin en doğru ve

tarafsız yorumu katılımcı dostlarımız yapacaktır.

Ama ben iki gün boyunca neredeyse kendi şirketimin

standına uğramadan tüm katılımcıları tek

tek ziyaret ederek onların fuarla ilgili yorumlarını

almak istedim. Bize dair eleştirileri var mı, bizim

bir hatamız olmuş mu, organizasyonla ilgili onlar

için yapabileceğimiz bir şey var mı diye bütün firmaları

tek tek gezdim. Herkes bizleri ve ekibimizi

çok çok tebrik etti.”

Fuarın organizasyonu esnasında çok yorulduklarını

fakat olumlu neticeler vesilesiyle gerek katılımcılar

gerek de ziyaretçilerden aldıkları pozitif

eleştiriler sayesinde bu yorgunluğa değdiğini ifade

eden Güler, sözlerine şu şekilde devam etti; “Bazı

yabancı ziyaretçilerin; “Bizim artık başka fuarlara

gitmemize gerek yok. Biz her şeyi Türkiye’de bulabileceğimizi

gördük. Bundan sonra da bu fuarı çok

daha büyütmeniz gerekiyor. Bu fuarın çok etkin

olacağını düşünüyoruz.” ifadelerini kullandıklarını

duyduk. Ve ben de burada size ilk defa söylemiş

olayım; ben bu fuarı global yatak endüstrisinin en

büyük fuarı yapma gayesindeyim. Bunun heyecanında

ve inancındayım. Şimdiye kadar her inandığım

şeyi de başardım. Ama elbette bu kez yalnız

değilim. Hep birlikte bunu başaracağız. Sleeptech

dergisi olarak sizlerin de bu konuya oldukça katkı

vereceğinizi düşünüyorum. Bu sabah itibariyle

de yıllardır fuar organizasyonlarıyla uğraşan bir

dostumuz bana; “Yıllardır fuar organizasyonlarıyla

uğraşıyorum. İlk kez düzenlenen bir fuarın bu

kadar dolu olduğuna daha önce hiç denk gelmedi”

dedi. Ben sonuçlardan gayet memnunum. Kendi

şirketim Elektroteks’e gelince sadece şirket yetkilisi

arkadaşlardan aldığım bilgilere göre şirket

olarak da gayet iyi sonuçlar elde ediyoruz.”

said that there was more intensity

at the fair than they expected and

that they reached a serious foreign

customer portfolio. Recep Kezik

expressing that Turkey has gained

importance in the global sense

his interview; “IBIA Fair is going

very well. The organization has

been very good. It was planned

beyond what we expected. The number of foreign customers

coming is quite high. A fair has not been held in this area

for a long time. It is also organized by IBIA for the first time.

We think it’s very nice. There is more density than we can

imagine. Especially on the second day, our foreign customers

were quite a lot. We had good sales abroad. The eyes of the

world turned a little towards here. With the increasing importance

of Turkey, European faced forward here. We had a lot

of customers coming from the USA and UK. We found a very

performing fair. We are also satisfied.”

IBIA tarafından da ilk kez düzenleniyor. Bizce çok

güzel olmuş. Tahmin ettiğimizin ötesinde yoğunluk var. Özellikle

Karakaşlar mentioned the need

of the sector for the fair in the interview

he gave at the fairground,

it is going well. The sector already

needed such a fair. It was very

paydaşları olarak birlik ve beraberlik içinde bu fuarın uzun

in 2018. As someone who has participated in big

fairs before, we see all the big and serious companies

in the world related to mattress production here.

In a sectoral sense, we can say that it is one of the

rare fairs that can gather so many global customers

in Turkey. In this sense, we are very happy. We also

have valuable domestic customers, but very serious

customers came from almost all over the world. All

of these are big companies in their fields. For this

reason, I congratulate both the IBIA management and

BİFAŞ, and congratulate the efforts of the colleagues

in the organization.”

İstanbul Fuar Merkezi’nde Sleep Tech dergisinin

“Biz yeni kurulan bir firmayız, bu sektöre yeni girdik.

Tabi geçmişte bu sektörle ilgili epey tecrübemiz vardı.

2018’de düzenlenen Sleep Well Fuarı’ndan beri

ilk kez bu alanda bir fuar düzenleniyor. Daha önce

büyük fuarlara da katılmış biri olarak yatak üretimiyle

ilgili dünyada ne kadar büyük ve ciddi firma

varsa gerçekten hepsini burada görüyoruz. Sektörel

anlamda Türkiye’de bu kadar global müşteri toplayabilen

ender fuarlardan biri diyebiliriz. Bu anlamda

var ama dünyanın hemen her yerinden çok ciddi

müşteriler geldi. Bunların hepsi de kendi alanlarında

Fatih Öztürk, stating that the fair they attended

as a participant was generally busy and

they were very satisfied with this situation,

said the following in his entire interview;

“From the first day, the fair has been quite

busy. The intensity decreased day by day. We

were able to reach a customer portfolio that

exceeded our expectations. We made good

connections. I hope we can develop the fair

further in the next years. I did not see any deficiency

related to the fair. Our sector experience has expanded with

foreign participants. I hope the returns from our meetings will also

be good. We hope that the fair will also lead to positive developments

for our country. As a sector, we have a large volume globally and I

think that a good step has been taken to expand this volume. I hope

this situation will come to a better place from year to year.”

“We have participated in

all mattress industry fairs

held in Turkey so far. Previous

fairs were also very

successful. But we are at a fair organized by our IBIA

Association. We are at a much more organized and

more participatory fair compared to previous fairs.

We were very satisfied with the fair. We hope that the

fair will continue for many years. We are also planning

to support the fair individually and as a company.

As Innova Bedding and Inno Yatak, we supply natural

materials for the mattress industry. As the mattress

industry grows, the mattress manufacturers are trying

to offer the products to their customers by making

more synthetic products cheaper due to the necessity

of making it economical. But in the meantime, the use

of products such as horse mane, latex, wool, cotton

and coconut, which have been used for centuries, has

become difficult both in terms of supply and price. We

offer these materials to the mattress industry through

both Inno Yatak and Innova Bedding. Thus, we ensure

that both mattress manufacturers produce better

quality and natural mattresses.”

ve çok daha katılımlı bir fuardayız. Biz fuardan gayet

Mr. Önder, conveying his evaluations of

the IBIA EXPO 2022 Fair to the Sleep Tech

magazine, emphasized that the fair was

organized after the pandemic and that

the sector eased in this sense. Aslan also

talked about the quality of the audience;

said “The fair is going very well. After the

pandemic, there was a lot of demand for

the fair. Because many fair organizations

could not take place during the pandemic

period. The organization of the IBIA

EXPO 2022 Fair is also important in this sense. The fair became a

fair with many quality participants and serious buyers. There was

a serious crowd on the first and second days. I was very pleased to

see the quality of the masses, their capacities, the demands in the

mattress industry and the potential in Turkey. Currently, there is a

huge potential in Turkey in terms of the sector. When we consider

the world crises such as war, occurred after the pandemic, pandemic

and container crises Turkey has a very critical importance. That

many companies gathered and united under single roof and realize

this organization by evaluating this type of fairs became a wonderful

situation for our sector.” Önder Aslan, touching on the technical

details about the fair, gave the following statements on the subject;

“The region where the fairground is located is in the center of Istanbul

and is a convenient area in terms of transportation. The visitors

coming to the fair on the first and second days were export customers.

As of the third day, we see that a little more domestic customers

dominate. I think it will be the same tomorrow. In general, we are

very satisfied, it goes very well. I think that organizing the fair every

year has become indispensable for our industry.”

sonra düzenlenmesine ve sektörün bu anlamda

nefes almasına vurgu yaptı. Ziyaretçi kitlesinin kalitesinden

de bahseden Aslan; “Fuar gayet güzel geçiyor.

Pandemi sonrasında fuar konusunda çok fazla talep

meydana geldi. Çünkü birçok fuar organizasyonu pandemi

döneminde gerçekleşemedi. IBIA EXPO 2022 Fuarı’nın

düzenlenmesi de bu anlamda önemli. Fuar birçok

kaliteli katılımcının ve ciddi alıcının yer aldığı bir fuar

oldu. Birinci ve ikinci günde ciddi bir yoğunluk vardı.

Gelen kitlelerin niteliği, kapasiteleri, yatak endüstrisindeki

talepleri ve Türkiye’deki potansiyeli görmeleri

beni çok memnun etti. Şu an Türkiye’de sektörel olarak

çok büyük bir potansiyel var. Pandemi sonrası oluşan

savaş, pandemi, konteynır krizleri gibi dünya krizlerini

ele aldığımız zaman Türkiye çok kritik bir öneme sahip.

konuya ilişkin şu ifadelere yer verdi; “Fuar alanının

bulunduğu bölge de İstanbul’un merkezinde yer alıyor

ve ulaşım açısından elverişli bir bölge. Fuara gelen ziyaretçiler

ise birinci ve ikinci günde ihracat müşteriler

oldu. Üçüncü gün itibariyle biraz daha yerli müşterinin

ağır bastığını görüyoruz. Yarın da yine aynı şekilde

sektörümüz için vazgeçilmez bir hale gelmiştir diye

Kesimoğlu: IBIA EXPO Fair is

a perfect organization

Kesinoğlu, saying that visitors will be able to find all

kinds of mattress-related component products at the fair,

described the organization as perfect. Kesimoğlu, adding

they had a very successful fair, said in his interview; “As

Kesimoğlu Tekstil and İpekçe Home brand, we are mainly

engaged in home textiles, and as you know, IBIA is an fair

focused on the mattress industry. The number of foreign

visitors in this fair, which consists of 3 halls in total, is quite

high. There are many companies, large and small, that

want to supply all kinds of components related to the mattress

from home and abroad. We also participated in the

fair with home textiles. We are satisfied as follows; every

mattress company also has retail stores. We also sell many

products from bed linen to carpet, blanket to bathrobe.

And since mattress companies also have retail stores, we

also benefited from these. The high number of foreign visitors

made us very happy. We had a very successful fair. The

organization was truly flawless. Thank you very much.”

tekstiliyle meşgul oluyoruz ve bildiğiniz

üzere IBIA yatak endüstrisi ağırlıklı

bir fuar. Toplamda 3 hallden oluşan bu

fuarda yabancı ziyaretçi sayısı bir hayli fazla. Yatağa ilişkin her

türlü bileşenlerin yurtiçi ve yurtdışından tedarik etmek isteyen

irili ufaklı birçok firma burada yer alıyor. Biz de fuara ev tekstili

“If I make

the first evaluation

of the fair on behalf

of the Lineer Makina

which I depend

on, it became a fair that we were very satisfied with

the number of visitors and the variety of countries

and the orders we hereunder received. While we

were preparing to host visitors mainly from the

Middle East and the Balkans due to the geographical

location of our country, we hosted our visitors from

the USA, South America, European countries and even

Africa beside the Middle East countries. The visitor

portfolio mostly consisted of decision makers, and the

majority of them were companies that were market

leaders in their own countries. General opinion of us

in the meetings, which I did with other participating

companies, is that this fair has a high potential to surpass

ISPA and Interzum Koln Fair in the next years. I

think this fair will be an international fair more with

the participation of leading foreign companies in the

mattress sub-industry (I think these companies will

want to participate in IBIA EXPO) and a wider visitor

portfolio. I wish success to the participants of IBIA

2023 fair in advance.”

Fuar alanında Sleep Tech dergisine röportaj veren Yaşar,

şu değerlendirmelerde bulundu; “Fuara dair ilk değerlendirmeyi

bağlı bulunduğum Lineer Makine adına

yapacak olursam; ziyaretçi sayısı ve ülke çeşitliliği ve

devamında da almış olduğumuz siparişler ile oldukça

memnun kaldığımız bir fuar oldu. Biz, ülkemizin coğrafi

konumu gereği ağırlık olarak Orta Doğu ve Balkanlardan

ziyaretçileri ağırlamaya hazırlanırken Orta

Doğu ülkelerinin yanında ABD, Güney Amerika, Avrupa

ülkeleri ve hatta Afrika’dan ziyaretçilerimizi ağırladık.

Ziyaretçi portföyü ise ekseriyetle karar vericilerden

oluşmuş olup, çoğunluğu kendi ülkelerinde pazar lideri

konumunda olan firmalardı. Diğer katılımcı firmalar

ile de yapmış olduğum görüşmelerde ortak kanımız, bu

fuarın ilerleyen yıllarda ISPA ve Interzum Koln Fuarı’nı

geçme potansiyelinin yüksek olduğudur. Bu fuara

yatak yan sanayinde önde gelen yurt dışı firmaların

da katılımı (bu firmaların IBIA EXPO’ya katılmak

isteyeceklerini düşünüyorum) ve daha geniş ziyaretçi

portföyü ile birlikte daha uluslararası bir fuar olacağını

düşünüyorum. Şimdiden 2023 IBIA fuar katılımcılarına

başarılar dilerim.”

Yılmaz, expressing that the fair was very

productive in his evaluation to our magazine,

said that they were very satisfied with the visits

to their stands and the orders they received.

Yılmaz gave the following statements in the

continuation of the interview; “First of all, I

would like to thank everyone who made us

participate in the IBIA Fair. I think it’s been

really effective. Today is the second day and I

think it’s very good especially today. I hope the

weekend will be better. So, we think it will be.

We are very satisfied with the current situation at this fair, as foreign

customers generally come rather than domestic customers. The fair

is very satisfying for us both in terms of the orders we received and

the agreements made. I hope that we will stop by all of our customers

one by one after the fair and we will receive our orders.”

Mehmet Demirok, stated that the fair

was very good for Mert Makine in his

evaluation, expressed in his speech

that he was satisfied with his foreign

customers and said “The fair is obviously

going better than we expected. It

seems that it will be a fair that will be

a serious competitor to the fairs held

in Europe and America. I can clearly

say that it goes much better than the

fairs held in America at the beginning

of this year. Most of our visitors are from abroad. We got good

requests. After the pandemic, the fair met our needs very well.

the first day of the fair, made the

“IBIA EXPO 2022 Fair was the first

fair we attended as a company as

well as being the first to be held. In

particular we wanted to see what

we could do in sector distinctions.

Yesterday and today, it seems that a

Milkay: IBIA Fair is going better

than we expected

Nursaçan, speaking to our magazine

at the fairground, stated that

the IBIA administration made

a great effort for the fair. Milkay

Board Member Nursaçan said in

his statement; “We came to the

fair with great expectations, and

we see that our expectations were

met. We already thought that the

fair would be good, but it is going better than we thought. As

you know, this fair is being held for the first time yet. I hope

it will be even better in the next years. A lot of effort has been

made for this fair, and the efforts did not go down the drain.”

Akgöz, stating that they are very satisfied

than we expected. It was very productive

few fairs in the world

Karapınar expressing that the fair

was successful in his interview with

Sleep Tech magazine, pointed out this

situation as a symbol that the fair will

reach higher levels in the next years.

The interview of Karapınar who says

that they believe the fair will be among

the other global fairs held in the same

area, is as follows; “First of all, I would

like to thank the IBIA team who contributed

to the organization of the fair.

This fair is a very important fair in terms of our integration

with the world as a sector. As manufacturers and exporters,

we always try to support the fairs for the development of our

country and opening abroad. Beside this, we especially participated

in the IBIA Fair, which was held for the first time this

year. We made such a start in order to reinforce our belief that

the fair will come to good places in the world in the next years.

ISPA, Interzum and Heimtextile in the world. Because we, as

a company, participated in many fairs in Europe and America,

and as we can see in this fair, serious preparations were made

exports to nearly 20 countries, we welcome and guests from

different markets and getting in contact with them. I believe

that these talks will yield positive results. There has already

been a period of stagnation due to problems such as global

war and pandemic. But I believe that this fair will be a serious

breath for the sector representatives. I fully believe that after

the first of this fair; the second and third ones will take place

and even become a tradition after a while. For this reason, we

would like to thank the IBIA Association, the president of the

association, our members, other participants of the fair and

sonra gelenekselleşeceğine inancım tam. Bu sebeple IBIA

geography

Engin Kalkan, who played an effective role in the fair as a

member of the IBIA Association Board of Directors and

also participated in the fair as a participant, stated that

he thinks the IBIA EXPO Fair will be the most important

fair of its geography in the next years. Kalkan made the

following statements in his interview; “The fair is frankly

a fair held for the first time. It is a very important fair that

has a wide range covering both Europe and the Middle

evaluations about the IBIA EXPO 2022 Fair. Tanrıöven,

stating that although the fair was held for the first time,

it fulfilled its mission and that the visits, made in the fair,

turn to orders is up to the companies, generally made

the following statements in his interview; Thefair is very

positive for us. In the first two days of the fair, we had the

opportunity to meet with many companies that come from

850 exhibitors and more than 3 thousand brands took

dollars was laid.

After this success, the furniture sector is already excitedly

waiting for the IIFF 2023 Istanbul Furniture Fair.

of 2.2 percent from the world furniture market and our

After the IIFF Istanbul furniture fair, we opened up to

new collaborations and new markets. We get a larger

share from world trade and 9 of our top 10 export

markets are the developed countries. The USA, where

our exports were almost zero 10 years ago, is our 3rd

largest export market today. We aim to export 6 billion

dollars in 2022, and the business connections of 3 billion

of this target were realized at the IIFF 2022 fair.”

Patients with spinal problems often wonder ‘what

is scoliosis?’ Scoliosis means that the spine curves

either to the right or to the left. This situation,

which is an orthopedically problem, prevents the person

from moving. Thus, it can be a problem in daily life. The

degree of curvature is important. Accordingly, a course

of treatment is applied. It is almost essential to resolve it

with orthopedic treatment.

It is because self-recovery is very low. Symptoms of

curved scoliosis disease, such as shortness of breath,

difficulties in walking, clothes that do not fit well on the

person, difficulty when trying to stand upright, curvature

in the right or left region of the spine, asymmetrical

appearance in the shoulder and hip region, frequent

pain in the back, waist and shoulder parts, and obvious

symptoms in the spine can be observed at the patients.

As these symptoms appear, a doctor should be consulted.

It is because the probability of correction of the spinal

curvature increases if it is diagnosed early. There are

degrees of scoliosis. In children, this situation is much

easier to correct. However, adults may need a corset or

physical therapy. Scoliosis disease, which is also seen in

infants, can be understood by X-ray graphics.

BEDS?

Bed selection is very important, as the backbone and

spinal deformities form the basis of the disease. Otherwise,

the existing spine problem may increase due to

olan, gelişimleri devam eden çocuklar için son

derece önemlidir. Uyku sırasında yanlış pozisyon almayı

yoluna emin adımlarla devam ediyor. B2B şeklinde hizmet

veren Yataş Project ve Yataş Foam’ın yanı sıra yeni uyku

markası Puffy ile 2022’ye güçlü bir giriş yaptı. Grup, geçen

seneki toplam cirosunu 2022’nin ilk yarısında yakalayarak

2,7 milyar TL ciroya ulaştı. Bu başarılı adımlar neticesinde

yılsonu hedeflerini revize eden Yataş Grup, 5 milyar TL olan

ciro hedefini 6 milyar TL’ye çıkardı.

Yataş Project, Yataş Foam ve Puffy markaları ile Yataş

Grup’un artık daha geniş kesimlere hitap ettiğini söyleyen

Yataş Grup CEO’su Nuri Öztaşkın, şunları söyledi: “Enza

Home ve Yataş Bedding Türkiye’nin en bilinen ve sevilen

markaları… Yeni markalarımızla Enza Home ve Yataş

Bedding’den gelen gücümüze güç kattık. Yüzde 140’lık ciro

density, hardness, collapse and strength in accordance with

TSE, ISO, ASTM standards and meticulously testing them.

Puffy, which mainly appeals to B and C segment consumers,

achieved a serious growth by spreading to places where

Yataş Group had not been before, with its quality products.

Our goal is to increase our strength in both domestic and

global markets by reaching wider audiences with our new

brands.”

Yataş Project, which has realized turnkey projects in all

businesses from hotel to hospital, dormitory to guesthouse,

achieved a turnover growth of approximately 2.5 times

more compared to the first 6 months of the previous year,

and achieved a share of 2.2 percent from the total turnover

in the first 6 months. Yataş Group branded its foam and

fiber production experience, which is nearly half a century

years old, under the name Yataş Foam. Yataş Foam, which

produces different foam technologies, fibers and medical

pillows, doubled its turnover compared to the first 6

months of the previous year and achieved a share of 8.1

percent from the total turnover.

PUFFY REACHED ITS 2021 TOTAL TURNOVER IN

THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF THIS YEAR

Yataş Group’s newest brand, Puffy, met with consumers

in January last year. In October 2021, it reached wide

audiences by making its first TV launch. Started sales with

mattresses, bases, headboards and white home textiles

(pillows, quilts, under sheets) products, Puffy added

colorful home textiles to its product range as of June 2022.

Having opened 41 exclusive stores, Puffy now reached

708 sales points in total. In addition, the brand also offers

online shopping services both on its own website and from

different marketplaces. Reaching its 2021 total turnover in

the first 6 months of 2022 with its successful work, Puffy

has grown more than 3 times this year compared to the

first 6 months of 2021. Thus, in 2022, Yataş Group had a

share of approximately 4% in its total turnover.

uygun olarak yoğunluk, sertlik, çökme ve mukavemet

testlerinden geçirilerek titizlikle kontrol ederek müşterilerine

sunuyor. Ağırlıklı olarak B ve C segment tüketiciye hitap

eden Puffy ise kaliteli ürünleri ile Yataş Grup’un daha önce

yer almadığı noktalara yayılarak ciddi bir büyüme sağladı.

Hedefimiz yeni markalarımızla birlikte daha geniş kitlelere

ulaşarak hem yurt içinde hem de global pazarlardaki gücümüzü

artırmak.”

Otelden hastaneye, yurttan misafirhaneye tüm işletmelerde

anahtar teslim, tasarım ve uygulamalara imza atan Yataş

Project, geçtiğimiz yılın ilk 6 ayına göre yaklaşık 2,5 katlık

bir ciro büyümesi gerçekleştirirken ilk 6 ayda toplam cirodan

yüzde 2,2’lik pay elde etti. Yataş Grup, yarım asra yaklaşan

sünger ve elyaf üretim tecrübesini ise Yataş Foam ismiyle

markalaştırdı. Farklı sünger teknolojileri, elyaflar ve medikal

Yataş Grup’un en yeni markası Puffy, geçen yıl Ocak ayında

tüketicilerle buluştu. 2021 Ekim ayında ise ilk TV lansmanını

yaparak geniş kitlelere ulaştı. Satışa yatak, baza, başlık ve

beyaz ev tekstili (yastık, yorgan, alez) ürünleriyle başlayan

Puffy, 2022 Haziran ayı itibarıyla renkli ev tekstilini de ürün

yelpazesine ekledi. 41 münhasır mağaza açan Puffy, toplamda

708 satış noktasına ulaştı. Bununla beraber marka hem

kendi internet sitesi üzerinden hem de farklı pazaryerlerinden

online alışveriş hizmeti de sunuyor. Başarılı çalışmalarıyla

geçen yıl gerçekleştirdiği ciroya 2022 yılında ilk 6 ayda

ulaşan Puffy, 2021’in ilk 6 ayına göre bu yıl 3 katın üzerinde

büyüme gerçekleştirdi. Böylece 2022 yılında Yataş Grup toplam

cirosunda yaklaşık yüzde 4’lük paya sahip oldu.
