GROUPS/DISCIPLESHIP

WOMEN’S MINISTRY CHRISTMAS BRUNCH

The Women’s Ministry Christmas Brunch is a time for women to sit back and relax,

to enjoy a time of just being and chatting with each other. This year’s brunch will

be held on Saturday, December 3, from 9:30 - 11 am in the Lower Fellowship Hall

of the Downtown Campus. RSVP at www.butlerfumc.com.

FC GATHERING CHANGE

It is never too late to participate in FC Gathering! The regular schedule (5:30 -

7:30 pm) will be held for the next two weeks, November 30 and December 7. The

Children’s Cantata will be held on December 14 in place of small groups.

#LOVEYOURNEIGHBOR

ARE YOU A “SNOW PRO”?

We are looking for those interested in being a part of our team of “Snow Pros” to

shovel driveways for members of our church over the next few months. If you are

willing and able to shovel snow - and even do it with a smile - contact Alex at

aevanoff@butlerfumc.com.

CHRISTMAS DINNER DONATIONS

Christmas Day Dinner is one of the largest ministries/events that we hold all year

long. We will be collecting the following items for the dinner: boneless hams (8-

10 lbs.), large cans of green beans, large cans of corn, Christmas cookies, and

unbaked frozen fruit pies. Monetary donations are also appreciated and can be

dropped off at the church office or in the offering with Christmas Day Dinner on

the memo line of your check or on the envelope. Cold or frozen items should be

dropped off at the church office during business hours.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH

WHAT’S COMING UP WITH CHILDREN AND YOUTH

• CHILDREN’S CANTATA, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 6:30 pm, Downtown Campus

• PARENTS’ DATE NIGHT, Saturday, Dec. 17, 5 - 8 pm, Rt. 8 Campus

• FUSION CHRISTMAS PARTY, Sunday, Dec. 18, 6 pm, Rt. 8 Campus. This is a

white elephant/ugly sweater party. Bring a $5-$10 wrapped gift or something

funny from home. Contact fusion@butlerfumc.com with questions.

THE CHILDREN’S 2022 CHRISTMAS CANTATA

The children have been busy preparing for their 2022

Christmas Cantata, Christmas Road Trip, The Journey of

a Lifetime. The children will be sharing their cantata with

the church on the evening of Wednesday, December 14

at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary of the Downtown Campus.

Prior to the event, appetizers will be served in the Lower

Fellowship Hall at 5:30 pm. Small groups will not be held

on this evening so that all can attend the cantata.

WORSHIP THIS WEEKEND

OUR CURRENT SERMON SERIES: COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS : HOME TO HOPE

THIS WEEKEND’S SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 11:1-9

For the kingdom of Judah, things are really bleak. Assyria had all but destroyed

their country, and then came Babylonia and exile. But God is not finished with

his people. From what appears to be the dead stump of the Davidic dynasty will

come fresh growth. A new king that will change the entire world – hope is very

much alive, even when things seem dead. Advent comes every year to remind

us that king came first as a baby in a manger. Advent comes every year to call

us back to him as the source of hope for all of the places that seem to be dead

in our lives – new life is found in Jesus.
