The Distinguished Scholars Program at Montverde Academy
Your path toward admission to the most selective colleges and universities begins at the Distinguished
Scholars Program at Montverde Academy.
The Distinguished Scholars Program at Montverde Academy will provide opportunities for intellectual
rigor and stimulation both in and out of the classroom, throughout high school, for identified and qualified
students. Classroom coursework, discussions, field trips, and seminars will be designed to support
and encourage an enriched intellectual atmosphere. Distinguished Scholars will be expected to accept
the challenge of dedicating themselves to the highest level of scholastic pursuit. Upon completion of
the Distinguished Scholars Program, each participant will be prepared to successfully attend the most
competitive colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.

Distinguished Scholars Program:
• Application
• Above-average standardized test scores
(7th stanine and above)
• Strong record of academic performance prior to entering the
program (all As and Bs)
Program requirements
• Three or more Honors or AP ® courses each semester
• Minimum of five AP credits
• Minimum GPA of 3.7 (weighted) throughout the program
• Course requirements:
- English (4 credits)
- Mathematics (4 credits)
- Science (4 credits)
- Social Studies (4 credits)
- World Language (3 credits, 4 recommended)
• Exemplary behavior
Students who are members of the SAC programs fall under the
Distinguished Scholars designation as long as they meet the
qualifications of both programs.
