Tropic-X's largest specialty coffee farm, 5
Corazones, is located near Villa Rica in Pasco,
which is a region known for a long history of
specialty coffee production. The nearly 300-
hectare farm has its own wet processing plant, as
well as housing for more than 200 workers. Each
worker is guaranteed at least 2 meals a day in a
permanent kitchen, unique in the region. These
incentives, along with guarantees of social benefits
even for part-time workers, ensure stable
production during the rainy season, when it is
more difficult for workers to return home.

Named after the famous trees found on the farm,
Matapalo is the first central Tropic-X farm founded
more than 30 years ago by Shared-X founders Tony
Salas and Gisela Camminati. Located in the
Chanchamayo region of Peru's central jungle,
Matapalo has a wet mill processing plant, which also
serves as a central collection point for our partner
association in the region, Copaceyba. What makes
Matapalo unique is its consistent production of
specialty coffees, including high altitude single
origins as well as special processes.

In the protected region of the biosphere around one of
the farms owned by Tropic-X, Rio Santo SAC, located
in the jungles of Puerto Bermudez in Oxapampa,
Pasco, Peru. Rio Santo SAC is an independent
company, jointly owned by Tropic-X, which operates
and markets 700 ha of farmland where there are
established plantations of sustainable banana and
bolaina wood, cacaco, specialty coffee varieties and
bamboo. The Impact Farming model will be part of the
knowledge sharing ecosystem at the base of Rio Santo
SAC, including advanced sustainable systems,
management practices, field innovations, post-harvest
technologies and business relationships brought by
Tropic-X.

More than 10 years ago, Tropic-X founded Cooperativa Copaceyba from a group of small farmers in the area
surrounding Tropic-X's Matapalo farm.The Copaceyba Cooperative cultivates at altitudes above 1,400 m in
the District of San Luis de Shuaro in Chanchamayo, an ideal climate for the production of high-quality coffee.
The Copaceyba cooperative is made up of 12 farmers who produce specialty coffee on 39 hectares. Tropic-X
has supported the Copaceyba cooperative to help it significantly increase its yield per hectare, and
encouraged them to surround their coffee with native flora, preserving natural biodiversity and acting as
biocontrol for pests.

Tropic-X began working with Flor de Cafe in 2019, an
association of small coffee producers based in Mariscal
Castilla, a neighboring town to our Matapalo farm.
Tropic-X has provided technical assistance to small
producers, along with a nutritional plan to support their coffee
campaign. The president of Flor de Cafe, Sergio Escobar,
expressed his satisfaction at working with Tropic-X under the
Impact Agriculture model and after the 2019 season, 14 new
farmers wanted to join the cooperative's initial 27 farmers.
Today, Flor de Cafe has 41 producers
growing specialty coffee on 128.5
hectares. Escobar plans to use proceeds
from Flor de Café sales with Tropic-X to
improve his crop nutrition strategies,
increasing his yield per hectare and quality
for the 2021 season.

The Yanesha "Beer Coffee" Association has entered into a new relationship with Tropic-X for the 2021
season.
Tropic-X has worked with the Yanesha community for a number of years, ensuring that all its members have
national identification documents, allowing access to healthcare and banking. Members of our Tropic-X
community from our neighboring Cinco Corazones farm have attended Yanesha celebrations for many years
and we are delighted to partner with them to bring their coffee to international markets.
