<strong>Estate</strong> <strong>Brokers</strong> (<strong>AAREB</strong>), a State Board <strong>of</strong> the National<br />

<strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> <strong>Brokers</strong>, Inc. (NAREB). NAREB<br />

is the oldest minority real estate trade association in America<br />

with the mot<strong>to</strong> and mission <strong>of</strong> “Democracy In Housing”. Members<br />

<strong>of</strong> our organization are known as <strong>REALTIST</strong>® and we have made substantial<br />

contributions <strong>to</strong> the real estate and housing industries by working diligently <strong>to</strong> provide<br />

housing for all without limitations or restrictions.<br />

His<strong>to</strong>ry. We look forward <strong>to</strong> continuing the networking pipeline with <strong>REALTIST</strong>®<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals throughout the State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> and the <strong>United</strong> States. <strong>AAREB</strong>’s purpose<br />

is <strong>to</strong> enhance the economic improvement <strong>of</strong> its members, the community at large, and the<br />

minority community which we serve. We also strive <strong>to</strong> unite those engaged in the<br />

Karen Love Hansberry is a Housing Loan Specialist with the City <strong>of</strong><br />

Mobile’s Community Housing Development and Neighborhood<br />

Development departments, a HUD Certified Housing Counselor, and<br />

a <strong>Real</strong><strong>to</strong>r with Berkshire Hathaway. She has over 14 years <strong>of</strong><br />

experience in property management, asset management, program<br />

management, finance operations and affordable housing compliance.<br />

She is actively involved in the Mobile community and currently<br />

represents the mayor’s <strong>of</strong>fice on the Mobile Community Action Board<br />

<strong>of</strong> Direc<strong>to</strong>rs.<br />

Karen collaborates with local lenders, real<strong>to</strong>rs, housing counseling<br />

organizations, and supports Neighborhood Development nonpr<strong>of</strong>it<br />

partnerships. She believes safe/stable homeownership and securing<br />

economic self-reliance is the key <strong>to</strong> build generational wealth for<br />

individuals and families. She is passionate about the City’s mission<br />

<strong>to</strong> provide successful homeownership<br />

opportunities and sustainable housing<br />

while reducing barriers <strong>to</strong> both.<br />

Reshonda Sparks has served in the banking industry for the past<br />

16 years with a great extent <strong>of</strong> knowledge in various banking<br />

departments. She recently served as branch manager and Loan<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficer for the past 4 years. Reshonda has now joined the<br />

mortgage banker team and is ready <strong>to</strong> help provide service and<br />

education. Reshonda delivers quality service while providing<br />

knowledge for the best result. She lives in Sylacauga, AL and<br />

the National <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> <strong>Brokers</strong> (Past President <strong>of</strong> the local board), National<br />

<strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Real</strong><strong>to</strong>rs® and the National Center for Housing Management. She also currently<br />

Teresa Bettis is the Executive Direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> the Center for Fair<br />

Housing, Inc. Pr<strong>of</strong>essionally, she has more than thirty-one years<br />

<strong>of</strong> experience in public works. Among those years, she has<br />

served as the Executive Direc<strong>to</strong>r for the Center for Fair Housing,<br />

Inc., a private non-pr<strong>of</strong>it civil rights organization for the last<br />

twenty-two years, where she oversees numerous programs and<br />

initiatives as well as manages a staff <strong>of</strong> six, while serving 8<br />

counties in Southwest <strong>Alabama</strong>. During her time as Executive<br />

Direc<strong>to</strong>r for the Center for Fair Housing, Inc. (the Center), she<br />

has served as an advocate for preservation <strong>of</strong> community and<br />

justice, while bringing recognition for those who have not had a<br />

voice.<br />

Currently, she is the appointed point person and member <strong>of</strong> the<br />

South <strong>Alabama</strong> Economic Roundtable. She also, oversees the<br />

Fair Housing Coalition, and serves as NAACP Housing Chair.<br />

Calebe Herring is a 15 year resident <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong>, and a graduate<br />

<strong>of</strong> both North Carolina A&T and the University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> at<br />

Birmingham. After a 10+ year career in education, Calebe fell in<br />

love with real estate and all things housing. He has completed<br />

various property renovations, acquisitions/depositions, and contract<br />

“flips”, and is now growing his own property rental portfolio without the<br />

use <strong>of</strong> debt-- all while encouraging others <strong>to</strong> benefit from home<br />

ownership and real estate investment.<br />

Cassandra Chandler is the Chief Executive Officer <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Chandler Group and the Chief Operations Officer <strong>of</strong> a Medical<br />

Rehabilitation Clinic. She is a native <strong>of</strong> Birmingham, AL and has<br />

a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science Degree with a concentration in <strong>Real</strong><br />

<strong>Estate</strong> Finance from the University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> in Tuscaloosa,<br />

AL. Cassandra has over 20 years in the <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Industry and<br />

her exceptional experience in business and Commercial <strong>Real</strong><br />

<strong>Estate</strong> has led her <strong>to</strong> a successful <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> career. She has<br />

represented several local and out <strong>of</strong> state clients in<br />

acquisitions, dispositions, tenant, and landlord representation<br />

including the City <strong>of</strong> Birmingham Water Works, Southwestern<br />

Athletic Conference (SWAC), and the Birmingham Urban<br />

League. In 2012 she was named the <strong>#1</strong> Commercial Sales<br />

Agent within her company, 2014 became the first Female<br />

African American in the State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Alabama</strong> <strong>to</strong> receive the<br />

Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation<br />

and currently sits on the <strong>Alabama</strong> CCIM Board. Cassandra’s<br />

passions extend beyond <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong>, as she is dedicated <strong>to</strong><br />

giving back <strong>to</strong> her community as well.<br />

Jennifer Campbell is the CEO <strong>of</strong> The Credit Labora<strong>to</strong>ry LLC in<br />

Mobile, AL, which was founded in 2019. She has a Bachelor’s<br />

Degree in Business Administration & Finance and a Paralegal<br />

Certification. She is also a certified First-Class Pipe Welder. To<br />

date she has helped over 400 individuals master their credit and<br />

reach their credit goals. This year it is her goal <strong>to</strong> help 100<br />

families overcome unfavorable credit and become homeowners.<br />

Machelle Lee has been in the Residential/Commercial lending<br />

and finance arena for more than 30 years. She is the owner <strong>of</strong><br />

OMEGA Mortgage LLC empowered by NEXA Mortgage LLC.<br />

Machelle is well versed in every aspect <strong>of</strong> residential and<br />

commercial financing and has helped hundreds <strong>of</strong> inves<strong>to</strong>rs & <br />

homebuyers <strong>to</strong> attain properties. Her mastery <strong>of</strong> guidelines<br />

allows her <strong>to</strong> identify the best product for her client’s needs.<br />

When necessary, she is capable <strong>of</strong> thinking outside the box <strong>to</strong><br />

secure financing that otherwise would collapse. It’s more than<br />

just a job for her, but rather a ministry that she pours her heart<br />

in<strong>to</strong>. The effectiveness <strong>of</strong> her impact on real<strong>to</strong>rs, buyers and<br />

inves<strong>to</strong>rs is manifested in the many referrals that make up the<br />

bulk <strong>of</strong> her business.<br />

Machelle was born and raised in Miami, FL and spent 18 years in Brooklyn, NY where she<br />

gained great financial insights. She moved <strong>to</strong> Metro-Atlanta in 2014 after marrying her<br />

husband, Reginald Lee. Machelle is proud <strong>to</strong> be a mother and devoted grandmother. She<br />

enjoys spending quality time and travelling the world with family members creating lasting<br />

memories.<br />
