Each bird and squirrel needs a nest
above it or below it, but not diagonally.
The numbers tell you how many nests are
in each row or column. There can’t be
two nests next to each other, even
diagonally. Read the letters that get
covered by nests to discover the answer.
Under Water explores the rich undercurrents in the
water around us, through work in a wide range of
media by a diverse collection of artists. The exhibition
addresses diverse topics around water—what is in our
water, how much we consume, how climate change
has impacted water, how humans have sought to
control water sources and to what effect, the symbolic
role of water in moving people literally and
metaphorically. The artists in Under Water explore a
range of concerns lurking under the surface, ultimately
reconnecting us with the tremendous beauty and
potential of this precious, vital resource. Linda Gass, The Living Shoreline Project, 2017-2022
The Know Your Neighbors Grant Program is designed to help neighbors better connect with each other
while strengthening community and improving the quality of life and neighborhoods in Palo Alto. The goals of
the Program are to:
1) Build a sense of community.
2) Develop or renew neighborhood relationships.
3) Encourage interaction between generations and cultures.
4) Increase governance and organizational leadership of neighborhood associations.
5) Develop collaborative partnerships between Palo Alto neighborhoods and the City.
Citizens may apply for up to $500 (neighborhood associations may apply for up to $1000) for activities such
as block parties, event kick-off celebrations, neighborhood crime prevention and safety activities, and
gatherings involving the building of connections between neighbors. Funding is limited. Grants may be
applied for at any time throughout the calendar year (at least two weeks prior to event date) and will be
awarded on activities that meet eligibility requirements on a "first come, first served" basis.
