WORSHIP THIS WEEKEND
THIS WEEKEND’S MESSAGE: THE CHAINS CAME LOSE
THIS WEEKEND’S SCRIPTURE: ACTS 16:16-34
Do we understand worship this way – as a profoundly powerful tool for prison
breaks? We practice it as a weekly ritual, but it is intended to be much more
in our journey with Jesus. It is a gift for us for every moment of our lives – the
mountaintops and the bondage moments. Worship unleashes power for us. It
brings the Holy Spirit to where we are, wherever we happen to be. The heart
of worship is acknowledging God as sovereign and at work even when we
cannot see, and trusting his heart no matter what. That fills whatever prison we
happen to be in at the moment with hope, and it reminds us of the way God
has broken chains in our lives in the past, so we can trust him to break whatever
chains might be around us now as well.
TAKING IT HOME SCRIPTURES
