Cockroaches have predictable movements which can

more than double the nymph catch of 

some competitors. 

A strong performance against nymphs means 

that Trappit will reliably detect in low or new 

infestations, reducing the possibility that an

The BB Detector Plus has shown consistently higher catch rates 

within areas of low infestations, when compared to a market 

leading non-pheromone monitoring trap in laboratory conditions. 

As shown above, the BB Detector Plus gave positive catch readings 

in seven locations where the market leading non-pheromone trap 

monitors gave negative catch readings.

The BB Detector Plus was tested in locations where bed bug 

infestations had been hard to identify due to very low levels. The 

trap provided positive identification of an infestation in two rooms 

deemed free from bed bugs after a visual inspection. 

In room 18, there were signs that bed bugs were or had been 

present on the visual inspection; some faecal spotting was found 

behind the headboard. After 14 days both trap types had captured 

bed bugs in two areas under the bed.

WASP TRAPS & BAIT 

The Pest Explained 

European yellowjacket wasps are 

ubiquitous throughout Europe as well 

as North America and now Australia 

and New Zealand. Throughout the 

spring the adult worker wasps prey 

mainly on other insects as a high 

protein source to feed to the wasp 

larvae in the nest. The larvae then 

produce a sugary solution that forms 

the main part of the adult wasps’ diet. 

At this time of the year they are rarely 

a pest and are not often noticed. 

Towards the end of the summer and 

early autumn the nest stops producing 

new wasps and the adult workers are 

left with no food source. The wasps’ 

attentions then move to energy foods 

to maintain their own activity. At this 

time they are highly attracted to sugary 

foods and drinks which bring them into 

contact with people. 

Trap Placement and Usage 

1 Traps should be hung 

in a suitable outdoor 

position, preferably in 

a warm and secluded 

location where wasps 

can be drawn away from 

nuisance areas. 

2 Hang the trap vertically 

by the twist tie attached 

to the lid. 

3 The wasps are attracted

FLY - GENERAL 

The Pest Explained 

Blue and green bottle flies, from the 

family Calliphoridae, as well as the 

lesser house fly, are a pest of farms, 

stables, bin areas, or similar outdoor 

places where decaying matter and 

waste may be found. More than just a 

nuisance, these unsanitary pests are 

carriers of diseases. 

Trap Placement and Usage 

Musca domestica (house flies) are an 

ubiquitous problem around the home 

and garden, carrying filth as well as 

important disease-causing organisms. 

The life cycle varies between species 

and climatic locations. However, in 

warmer areas flies are a problem all year 

round, whilst in cooler climates flies 

are most prevalent during the warmer 

summer months. 

1 Traps should be hung in a 

suitable outdoor position, 

preferably in a warm and 

secluded location where 

flies can be drawn away 

from nuisance areas.
