A MISSIONS WEEK AT FISHBONE
We are excited for this summer’s week-long local outreach opportunity
on July 23-28, serving at Fishbone Ministries in Butler. The week will include
service ministries such as hands-on work projects, serving meals, and leading
activities/building relationships with the local children. While it is not an
overnight trip, this is a full-day, week-long commitment. If you are interested
in signing up, contact Mike Mine at mike_mine@hotmail.com or Alex Evanoff
at aevanoff@butlerfumc.com.
THE RUMMAGE SALE IS COMING!
The annual Missions Rummage Sale will be here before we know it! The rummage
sale will be held on May 19/20. There will be an initial drop off day on
Sunday, May 13 after the Crossfire Service. Additional details about remaining
drop off days will be announced soon.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONSIDER SERVING...
Are you someone who would like to make others feel comfortable, someone
with a smile and a friendly hello? Maybe a greeter, usher or Rt. 8 cafe barista
is the right fit for you. Or, are you more of a techie, a do-it-on-your-own type
of soul? Yep, we need help with techie things too, such as livestreaming or
lights. It takes all of us to make ministry run at First Church, and we could use
your help. Sign up on this week’s connect card, attached to this bulletin and
return it with the offering or drop it at the welcome center/hub, and someone
will get back to you shortly about how you can serve @ First Church.
ROOTS: BOUNCY AND BACKWARD EVENT
All 3rd - 6th graders are invited to join Roots on a bouncy and backward
outing this weekend, Sunday, March 19. The event will begin at 4 pm at the
Clearview Mall Altitude Trampoline Park and then go out for a progressive
meal which will end at Arby’s at 7 pm. There will be a $25 cost per student,
and scholarships are available. A health form/permission slip and pre-registration
are necessary. Registration form/permission slip download is available
at butlerfumc.com/bounce. Contact Suzie Asa at sasa@butlerfumc.com for
more information.
WE ASKED. YOU DELIVERED!
Together, we collected over 3,000 rice krispy treats for The Kids’ Weekend
Backpack Program! Thank you for your generosity!
HELPING THE LIGHTHOUSE PREPARE FOR EASTER
First Church is collecting items for The Lighthouse Foundation’s Easter distribution
on the weekends of March 25-26 and April 1-2, and at the Downtown
Campus office during the weekdays until April 2. We are collecting canned
pineapple and boxed scalloped potatoes at our campuses. In addition, if
you would like to donate ham, please deliver ham donations directly to The
Lighthouse Foundation Food Pantry at 116 Browns Hill Road, Valencia. Contact
Alex at aevanoff@butlerfumc.com with any questions.
