he Revo ACU British Motocross Championship is<br />
T<br />
the premier motocross racing series in the United<br />
Kingdom. It is organised by RHL Activities and back by<br />
the AC, the governing body for motorcycle sport in the<br />
UK.<br />
The Championship features several classes of<br />
competition including MX1, MX2, WMX, 125cc and<br />
BW85. MX1 is the premier class and features the most<br />
experienced and skilled riders competing on 450cc<br />
motorcycles. MX2 is for riders competing on 250cc<br />
motorcycles.<br />
The Championship will consist of 8 rounds in the 2023<br />
season, held at various tracks across the UK, including<br />
some of the most famous motocross tracks in the<br />
country such as Hawkstone Park, Canada Heights, and<br />
Foxhill. In each round, riders compete in either two or<br />
four motos (races) depending on the duration of the<br />
event, and points are awarded based on their finishing<br />
position.<br />
The Revo ACU British Motocross Championship<br />
attracts some of the top motocross riders from around<br />
the country and beyond, including many riders who<br />
have gone on to compete at the highest level of the<br />
sport internationally.<br />
This year we will see the Championship visit some<br />
historic and new tracks with the MX1, MX2, 125cc and<br />
BW85* visiting each track and the WMX, SW85 and<br />
65cc classes joining the Championship during the final<br />
three rounds.<br />

complete a set number of laps on the track, and the first rider to<br />
cross the finish line is the winner. However, there are also rules<br />
regarding safety, such as the use of protective gear, and<br />
penalties for rule infractions.

on the specific track, weather conditions, and the rider's personal riding<br />
style.<br />
Motocross is a physically demanding sport that requires a combination<br />
of skill, strength, and technique. Here are some techniques that<br />
motocross riders may use to improve their performance on the track:<br />
Body positioning: Riders need to maintain a proper body position while<br />
riding, including a slight forward lean, keeping weight over the front<br />
wheel, and keeping the elbows up to absorb the impact of jumps and<br />
obstacles.<br />
Cornering: Riders need to master the art of cornering, which involves<br />
leaning the bike into the turn, keeping the inside foot peg down, and<br />
using the throttle to power out of the turn.<br />
Jumping: Riders need to master the technique of jumping, which<br />
involves timing the jump, keeping the bike level, and landing smoothly.<br />
Whipping: This technique allows riders to make the bike spin 180<br />
degrees in the air and land facing the opposite direction.<br />
Power sliding: This technique allows riders to maintain speed while<br />
cornering by sliding the rear wheel.<br />
Ruts: Riders need to learn how to ride in ruts, which are deep grooves<br />
in the track created by the tires of previous riders. This technique<br />

ACU British Motocross Championship kicks off its<br />
2023 season tour at the new sand circuit in<br />
<strong>Oakhanger</strong>, Borden, near Hampshire. This familyfriendly<br />
event is not just for motocross enthusiasts<br />
but for everyone looking for a fun day out.<br />
Watch some of the UK and Europe's most talented<br />
motocross riders compete for the coveted Official<br />
Revo ACU British Motocross Championship titles.<br />
The challenging sand circuit will test the limits of<br />
the riders as they race towards the finish line.<br />
The event promises to be packed with<br />
entertainment and activities for all ages, with food<br />
stalls, merchandise stands, and other attractions.<br />
The 2023 season features some exciting<br />
contenders, such as Tommy Searle, the 2022 MX1<br />
Championship winner, who will be back on a<br />
Kawasaki bike, and Conrad Mewse, the 2022 MX2<br />
Championship winner, who will ride the Crendon<br />
Honda bike in the MX1 class this season. Billy<br />
Askew, the consistent 2022 British Champion in<br />
the BW85 class, has moved up to the 250cc class,<br />
where he will compete alongside strong<br />
contenders like Jak Taylor and Hudson Roper. The<br />
85BW class is now open for new leaders and<br />
contenders like Hayden Statt and Drew Stock. The<br />
MX2 class is also up for deliberation, with<br />
contenders such as Dylan Walsh and Jorgen<br />
Matthias Talviku.<br />
The Championship will visit eight venues across<br />
the country, starting on March 19th at <strong>Oakhanger</strong><br />
and ending with the final round on September 9th<br />
and 10th, where the Revo ACU British Motocross<br />
Champions will be crowned. Don't miss out on the<br />
