Your van has a macerator toilet

An RV macerator toilet at its most simple level is an automatic grinder.

Like your garbage disposal grinds up the solid you put down the sink, an

RV macerator pump grinds up the solid and liquid waste you flush down

your toilet.

Here's How You Empty Your Waste Holding Tank

1. Put on disposable gloves (provided). Trust us on this one.

2. Get your sewer hose out and place it next to the tank outlet.

3. Remove the cap from the RV tank outlet. NOTHING should come out at this time.

4. If liquid comes out, close the valve ASAP!

5. Connect your sewer hose to the RV tank outlet.

6. Place the other end of the sewer hose into the dump hole. Secure in place.

7. Start by opening your tank valve just a little. In case there is a leak.

8. Open your tank valve and let it drain entirely. It is a good idea to go into your rig once it is

empty and run water through it to flush tank and sewer hose.

9. Close tank valve.

10. Lift up the hose from closest to the RV to get any leftover liquid out by letting it flow into the

drain.

Page 32

continued on next page

11. Disconnect your sewer hose from the RV once you are sure most of the liquid is out. Lift the

end high to ensure nothing comes out of your end and to make sure all liquid drains into the

dump.

12. Rinse the sewer hose inside and out with water before taking the other end out of the drain

hole. If no water is available, well, therefore it is a good idea to keep a gallon of water in storage

so you can rinse the hose.

13. Disconnect the hose from the ground hole and cover with lid or rock (either is usually there).

14. Put your sewer hose back into storage. Make sure it is empty!

15. PUT YOUR CAP BACK ON YOUR OUTLET AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CLOSED THE LEVER.

This is very important- crucial for your next dump so you do not have an embarrassing gross

accident.

You are done! It seems like a lot, but it WILL become second nature.

Experienced Campers can be a big help......
