2022 GRANTS AWARDED
TO ATRIUM HEALTH CABARRUS
The Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation and its board of directors awarded $262,065.00 in Internal Grants. A “Prize Patrol”
made up of Foundation Board Members, Hospital Administrators and Foundation Staff awarded 12 Internal Grants to
various hospital departments. From its growing endowment fund this year, the Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation has now
awarded over $2 million in Internal Grants awards to Atrium Health Cabarrus since 2013.
You have made it possible to positively impact the lives of so
many people!! You matter so much to the well-being of our
patients, families, and community!
The Audiology department at Atrium Health Cabarrus received
the Verifit equipment at the end of September 2022 that was
awarded to them by a Foundation Internal Grant. After the
training for the equipment was completed, the audiologists
began utilizing it with their hearing aid patients to assist with
accurate fitting of hearing aids. They have noticed a significant
improvement already with the accurate amplification of
sounds for their pediatric population compared with fittings
prior to having this technology available. There have been
approximately five pediatric patients so far that have benefitted
from the Verifit equipment. This equipment has made an impact
in many ways including: increased desire for patients to wear
their hearing aids and improved comfort of communication
with parents, teachers, and peers due to appropriate
amplification levels. The audiologists have scheduled their
first adult patient as well, next week, who has had significant
difficulty with tolerating their hearing aids due to discomfort
and decreased accuracy of the fit for amplification levels. We
are excited to see how this equipment will make a difference
in this patient’s life as well. We are incredibly grateful for the
Foundation and want to thank you for helping to change the
lives of so many of our patients in our community!!
Sincerely,
Atrium Health Cabarrus Speech and Audiology
Department Gateway

We want to send a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation this year which
allowed our department to purchase the Bioness L300 Go. We have officially
received our equipment and completed our hands-on training. I was able to witness
the equipment in use with a patient today, and the outcomes were truly remarkable.
This technology is going to aide our patients in their journey to recovery and
improve their overall quality of life. We cannot thank you enough for the difference
you are making in the Cabarrus community.
With sincere gratitude –
