We’re excited to welcome all competitors
to Groomania, and we want to make
sure you and your dogs have the best
experience possible. While we don’t offer
specific timeframes to wash your dogs
in the bathroom, we want to assure you
that the bathrooms will be available for
everyone to use on a first-come, first-served
basis. We believe in giving everyone equal
opportunities, and we don’t want to create
any exclusivity by offering reservations.
That being said, we kindly ask that all
competitors respect each other’s time
and space in the bathroom area. We
understand how important the competition
is to everyone, but we also want to make
sure that everyone has a positive and
stress-free experience. Please be mindful
of your fellow competitors and avoid taking
up unnecessary time or space. Let’s work
together to make Groomania a success for
everyone involved!
The bathroom is open from Saturday 7am till
6pm and on sunday from 7am till 5 pm
FREE DOG SITTER
Bring your dog, together with his cage and
our professional Dog Sitter will take care
of your dogs while you attend seminars,
compete in the competition or go to the
party on Saturday evening. The Dog Sitter
can be found in the reception area in a
separate room. This service is free, there

SEMINARS
Every seminar and speaker will have its own
dedicated brand room to keep things close
and personal
- The spoken language will be mostly English
(unless told otherwise) and will not be
translated to guarantee a more natural flow
during the session.
- Asking questions during or after the
seminar is always possible and advisable!
- During registration, let us know which one
of the seminars you will most likely attend to
so we can act accordingly.
- Discrete switching between rooms remains
possible and first come, first serve will apply
to guarantee yourself a seat.

The Best Groomer 2023 will win a trip to the SuperZoo grooming competition and pet trade

to the show, the educational seminars and competition registration. The Best All Round
Groomer is the individual competitor who by winning in the 4 official categories gains the
most points. In all categories the judging system is based on points. Each judge awards
the competitors 10 points for the first place, 8 points for the second, 6 points for the third
and 4 points for the fourth in each class.

Kitty began showing dogs as a child, and later, as
a professional groomer and handler she “made
up” many champions. She won multiple gold,
silver and bronze medals, Best in Shows and Best
All Round Groomer awards in both Europe and
America. In 1996-1997 she won the prestigious
title of ‘World Champion Poodle Groomer’ and the
coveted Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for
‘International Groomer Of The Year’ at Intergroom
in New York, USA. Together with Darren Cooke,
Kitty created the company Transgroom, a
wholesale and mail order company that designs,
manufactures and distributes professional
grooming products all over the world. Kitty is
the product developer using her experience to
design new and innovative grooming products for:
Show Tech, Yento, Tikima Pro Wear for Groomers,
K-Design and more. Kitty is an international
grooming contest judge, board member of the
E.G.A (European Grooming Association), grooming
speaker and demonstrator and has led seminars
all around the world to educate groomers and
promote the grooming industry. Kitty is the founder
and organiser of Groomania held annually in
Kortrijk.

Kitty started with a goal: “Aiming for perfection”.
Her biggest wisdom is that no one ever knows
enough about their profession. In all her passion
for our branch and after 25 years of running her
successful grooming shop ‘Kitana’, Kitty is now
Grooming consultant in the well-known company
Transgroom. Where she helps and guides
groomers in their daily professional activities if
it comes to products and materials. Developing
new materials and products are her passion.
She’s been participating in competitions for
many years with a lot of top results. She’s won
several bronze, silver and gold medals in Europe
and in the USA and she also has Best in Show
on her name. Kitty retired from active grooming
competition and became a EGA judge. In all her
professional enthusiasm, she also teaches and
coaches starting and experienced groomers, and
gives inspiring seminars and demonstrations that
can lead groomers to a top performance. Besides
all this, Kitty is the co-organizer for the European
biggest Educational professional grooming event
Groomania.

Christian Cherelus is a 23-year-old groomer from Paris who has won
numerous awards in dog grooming competitions. He was the Best
in Show winner at Groomania 2022 and is a member of the French
grooming team. He was also the 2nd best groomer in France in 2021.
Christian has won several awards, including the Golden Scissors in
the Champion class for Spaniel at Groomania 2022 and the Bronze
Scissors in the Champion class for Artero in 2022. He has competed in
canine beauty contests in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland,
and Montenegro. In 2018, Christian opened two salons called M and C
Signature Toilettage in Lorient and Macon.

Our Belgian champion Melanie started her career at age 15 in Salon Kitty
in Kortrijk, she is proud to say she had Kitty Dekeersgieter as a teacher.
She has won more than 20 medals; her most prestigious title is the
coveted title of Belgian Champion dog groomer who she is proud to say
won twice two years in a row.

PRESIDENT OF JUDGES
Umberto Lehman opened his grooming salon in Milano in 1980, after
breeding, showing and training. In 1985 he started giving formation
and specialization courses in his grooming school. From 1985 – 2001
he won several medals al around the world in all groups. In 2001 he
got second place in the World Team Championship with the European
Team. Umberto judged in more than 400 competitions, gave more than
450 demonstrations. President of the European Grooming Association
(E.G.A.), President of the Italian Grooming Association (A.T.I.), and
Organizer of “MilanGroom”, International Grooming Competition.
SPEAKER
With a lifelong passion for animals, Paula obtained a degree in Biological
Sciences in the early 2000s in Romania. Paula was intrigued by the
art of dog grooming, sparking her desire to pursue it as a profession.
After completing the grooming program, she established her own salon.
Her dedication to her craft led her to participate in her first grooming
competition in Belgium after two and a half years and she has since
traversed Europe attending competitions, seminars, and workshops,
with a firm belief in the continued pursuit of knowledge. Her expertise
is showcased through her immaculately groomed hairy white medium
poodles, which have become her signature. Currently Paula is finalizing
her Master’s thesis on improving the grooming experience for both dogs
and groomers. We welcome Paula as our brand Ambassador.

Hugo Quevedo
Peru
Hugo Quevedo is born in Lima-Peru and he is a very famous professional
all-breed handler with over 40 years of experience in showing and
breeding dogs. He has attended and won titles at over 500 national and
international shows around the world, including Crufts. He has also won
over 200 BIS and 42 World Winner titles. He is the breeder of the Wire
Fox Terrier “Fransin Keystone,” who was named Top Terrier in Norway in
2021 and 2022.
In addition to his handling and breeding career, Hugo has also served
as a junior handling judge at various shows in Norway, Sweden, Iceland,
Denmark, and Russia. He has also judged at open all-breed shows in
Dubai and Norway and the Norwegian Grooming National Championship
in 2019. Hugo is the team leader and coach for the Norwegian Junior
Handling National Team and has created and moderated the Facebook
group “Junior Handler For Everyone.”

Michail Premtsis is a Professional Master Groomer based in Thessaloniki,
Greece. Since 2013 he has participated in numerous grooming
competitions around Europe winning several golden medals and titles
such as Best Breed Groomer 2016 & 2017, Best International Groomer
2019 at the World Grooming Conference in the UK and he was the
Winner of the Oster European Invitational Tournament Of Champions
2019. He is also a member of the Greek Grooming team.
Michail has achieved more than 60 Best in Show placements at dog
shows with his favourite breed, Scottish Terriers.

Jerôme is an unconditional dog lover since childhood. His love for
Showdogs started when he first visited a dog show and was mesmerized
by the champions on the rings, skillfully handled by their handlers.
Breeding, raising, and presenting beautiful and healthy dogs became
his passion. When he presented his first Schnauzer in a dog show, it
was a great success, which encouraged him to continue producing
and preparing his dogs for future shows. Jerôme opened his grooming
salon, learning from dog shows & everything he could about the industry.
Today, he continues to nurture his passion, staying up to date with the
latest trends in the world of dog grooming. Jerôme became in 2023,
because of his passion for Products, the France Brand Ambassador for
Show Tech, ShowTech+, Yento, Tikima & Groom-X.

SPEAKER
Amy has been showing and grooming dogs for over 20 years. She runs
a kennel of show dogs and has raised multiple champions and top dogs
across four different breeds. Amy also runs a professional grooming
salon and trains young groomers. She has competed in several
grooming competitions and has been awarded several BIS show awards
from the United Kingdom and Europe. Amy is a two time winner of
Groomer of the Year and is currently a member of Groom Team England
and the Guild of Master Groomers.

Barbara Prueckel is the owner of Doggie Style Salon in Calgary, Alberta,
Canada since 1997. Canada’s first ‘invitation only’ grooming salon. Some
of Barb’s accomplishments include several Gold and Silver medals, Best
in show and Best all-around groomer awards at prestigious grooming
contests. She has had the pleasure of speaking and judging in many
countries. Her specialty is motivational speaking for her fellow pet
stylists. Barb and her husband Mark produced Mastergroom Canada,
the largest and most prestigious grooming show in the country. As a
proud ambassador for Melanie Newman Salon Essentials, she has found
an excitement for educating groomers and pet parents worldwide.
Natasha Kolbe
Germany

Natascha Kolbe, a resident of Germany for 29 years now, was born
in Siberia, Russia. With over 28 years of experience in the poodle
breeding industry, she has established herself as an expert in the
field. As a breeder, Natascha has been involved in breeding black
miniature poodles under the kennel name “Caspian Line’s”. Her efforts
have resulted in the breeding and styling of dogs that have gone on to
become Multi World Champions. Natascha is also an accomplished
groomer, with several Best in Show wins to her name in International
Grooming competitions. Over the years, Natascha has acquired a
deep understanding of poodle anatomy, balance, and profile, as well
as technical skills. She believes that learning should never stop and
considers it the only way to stay on top.
William Galharde
Brazil

William Galharde is one of the most renowned and reputable
professionals of animal aesthetics due to his work and passion for
animals. In his daily life, William was manager of 80 grooming shops in
Brazil (Petz Group) and he was personally responsible for 330 groomers
and more than half a million animals in a year. Some of the salons are
open 24/7! William and his team enjoy an enviable reputation in Brazil of
being simply the best canine beauticians. They have often appeared on
TV channels such as Disney, Nickelodeon and many more local stations.
William and his business partner Felipe Corrêa run the state of the art
and prestigious Galharde Academy where you can go for learning
excellence in the grooming industry and this with a high level of
compassion and respect for the animals.

Yulia Marenkova

Yulia began her self-taught groomer career when she was 14, thanks to
the arrival of a Kerry Blue Terrier into her family. In 2003 she starts her
first activity in Italy, gaining lot of success and obtaining. Meanwhile,
she started to compete at International Grooming competitions. In
2011 she creates her own line of products and then, in 2012, near
Milan, in northern Italy, she founds the “Special One Grooming
Academy”, a modern grooming school. Yulia has become a precious
point of reference for the groomers; in fact, during the most important
international beauty competitions, like European and International
Championships, Craft, she is entrusted with authentic champions. Her
results are always highly elevated, as shown by her personal honor
awards enumerating 17 golden, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals along with
3 BEST IN SHOW titles.
Kayla Harrison
United Kingdom
Kayla Harrison is a talented individual from the UK who has gained
recognition as a star on the BBC’s show “Pooch Perfect.” She has made
a name for herself in the field of dog grooming, with a specialization in
Poodles, Schnauzers, and creative grooming techniques. Kayla has an
impressive ability to handle even the most difficult and sassy little dogs
that are resistant to being groomed. Her expertise in grooming has led
to successful outcomes, including preparing and handling long-haired
Briards that have achieved podium positions at prestigious dog shows
like Crufts. Her dedication, handling experience, and desire to educate
others make her a valuable asset to the industry and an inspiration to
those who aspire to follow in her footsteps.

Groomer. Hailing from Ireland, Michael has established himself as a
prominent figure in the world of dog grooming with his remarkable skills
and expertise.
Beyond his individual achievements, in the United Kingdom Northern
Ireland and Southern Ireland Michael is also known for his commitment
to mentorship and educate at all levels and actively shares his wisdom
and experience with aspiring groomers, offering guidance and support
to help them flourish in their own grooming journeys.His artistic flair,
commitment to education, and dedication to pushing the boundaries
of grooming excellence make him an inspiring figure in the grooming
community.

Maria Zakharchenko
Ukrain
Originally from the Ukraine, Maria Zakharchenko started as a
Veterinarian, and in 2006 she became a groomer. Within two years,
Maria opened her first grooming salon and by 2017 she had 5 salons
across her state. In 2009 Maria also opened MaryGroom, a grooming
school, followed by a grooming tool retail shop and service center. In
2017 Maria relocated to Valencia, Spain and now shares her passion
of educating other groomers by working as a grooming instructor with
Alianz Europe, a global union of national associations related to the
canine. During these years Maria also became a grooming competitor
and achieved many placements. In 2018 Maria earned a spot on Spain’s
National Grooming team and has represented the Country in various
international grooming competitions. Maria teaches seminars across
Europe and is now a grooming contest judge. As one of the newest
members of the Andis Education team, Maria hopes to reach as many
groomers as possible to share her knowledge and expertise in grooming.

Italy
Sarah started her grooming career in 2013 by winning the title of “Best
Young Groomer” at the “Master Show” in Italy. In 2017 she won several
gold, silver and bronze medals and also a BIS at the “Mediterranean
Cup” with an English Cocker. With the title of “Best Groomer” in
“Groomania” she won the opportunity to compete in “Superzoo”, Las
Vegas. Sarah won the title of “Best International Groomer” in 2018 and

Jovi has been professionally grooming since 1999 and competing since
2015. She owns one of the top salons in Saskatchewan, Canada. She is
a second generation groomer and grew up attending and competing at
conformation dog shows.
She is an international award winning competitor, speaker, multiple
Best in Show winner, and specializes in Handstripping and Sporting
dogs. She is the Captain of Groom Team Canada. And represented the
Wirecoat class for Groom Team Canada at the World Team competition
in 2022. Education has always been an important part of competing for
her and she believes you can never stop learning.

International dog grooming legend Colin Taylor is the first to admit
grooming man’s best friend is no walk in the park. “To be a good pet
stylist you first have to have respect for dogs and secondly, you have
to be able to handle them well.” Colin’s canine connection was formed
from a very young age whilst he worked in a pet shop in London. At 16
he started his grooming career at the London Academy of grooming, in
1985. Then he studied dog grooming at the Hong Kong Doggie House.
After his training he spent 18 years working at grooming school and
salons across the United States. He wrote the book ‘What Would Colin
Do? 101 Situations and Solutions for the Everyday Groomer’ to share
his expertise. Colin travels the world giving seminars on grooming and
judging at grooming conferences. He boasts titles such as certified
Master Groomer in both the United States and United Kingdom, winner
of the World Cup Grooming Games and multiple year member of Groom
Team USA.

Luis Martín Del Río
Spain
Groomer, handler & breeder, Luis is the second generation of his family
in the dog world, his parents started in 1984 the Tajinastes kennel,
breeding and showing miniature schnau-zers. At the age of 14 he was
already grooming dogs from their kennel & by the time he was 18, he
became coowner of the kennel including mini dachshund, bedlington
and Brussels griffons. During his competitive career in the dog shows,
his dogs won over 250 titles in America, Africa, Asia & Europe & over 40
BIS all breeds & specialties. He has won multiple Gold Medals in Hand
Stripping, Scissoring and Spaniels & Best in Shows awards at Iberzoo,
Ciseaux D’Or, BGA, Groomania, Montras (Spain) & the Oster Invitational.
He is EGA judge, judging in Unite Estates, Cánada, Bélgina, Spain and
Italy. Since 2017 Luis is the Artero´s product manager in Barcelona
helping to develop and updating the products and organizing the
grooming shows of the company.

JUDGE
John is a 3rd generation championship breeder and handler of terriers
Over the years, John has trimmed and handled numerous champions,
including Airedales, Irish, Kerry Blue, Lakeland, and Welsh Terriers,
becoming a true multi-breed specialist. John also won the Terrier Group
at Crufts 2017 with a Lakeland Terrier Ch. Saredon Enigma. John is
a breed record holder in Irish Terriers for winning the Terrier Group at
Crufts and has handled the only 4 Irish to be top terrier.

Massimiliano Carluccio, was born and raised within the world of
grooming. He started working in the family salon in 2008 immediately
preparing dogs for dog shows, with national, international and world
champions. In 2011 he became the owner of his family salon and since
2013 he has started participating in grooming competitions obtaining
several gold, silver and bronze medals and special awards such as that
of best Italian groomer of 2014, arriving in the national team and winning
the 2015 World Team Grooming Competition. In 2017 he was coach for
the Greek national grooming team and since 2018 he is an official EGA
judge for the Spaniel category.

Jitka has always been passionate about dogs and has been in the
pet industry for over 30 years, winning at numerous international dog
grooming competitions: Eurogroom three times in a row, Groomania,
Mastergroom, British Groomer of the Year, and the Dog Grooming Salon
of the Year award. She represented England at the World Dog Grooming
Championship for six years as well!
Jitka is a part of the Saredon Terriers team. She specialises in handstripped
terriers and shares her knowledge via numerous seminars,
workshops, and one-to-one sessions.
The knowledge she’s gained over the years working with dogs, plus her
diplomas in canine massage and clinical aromatherapy, have led her
to be a proud founder of Vita Canis - natural aromatherapy products for
dogs & their owners.
Jitka also organises Style to Rescue, an annual charity dog grooming
competition for rescue dogs.

SPEAKER & JUDGE
Valerie Coton started her animal care training at the age of 15,
specializing in grooming after obtaining a professional baccalaureate
degree. She opened her first salon, Elegance Canine Nogent, near
Paris, focusing on show dog preparation and handling, particularly
Poodles. Valerie trained numerous groomers in her techniques, with
some becoming international and world champions. She achieved
success in grooming competitions, winning medals across Europe in
various purebred categories. Valerie notably won the “Best of the Best
Ciseaux d’Or” award and secured a Vice European Championship. She
represented France in the World Team Championship, becoming a World
Champion multiple times and earning a Vice World Champion title. In
addition to grooming, Valerie showcased her dogs in Canine Exhibitions,
winning the Best In Show title at the French Championship. She is also
an Afghan Hound breeder under the kennel name “Khasbek.” Valerie
serves as a judge in national and international grooming competitions,
specializing in Spaniels, Poodles, and other purebred categories. She
has conducted seminars and demonstrations across Europe and in
Brazil. Valerie is currently the coach and captain of the French team for
the World Team Championships, leading them to success.
