Developed and directed by some of the top high school band
teachers in Ottawa, this highly specialized program offers
campers an opportunity to learn something new or to improve
on a current instrument. Take your place on stage and perform
at a special concert with fellow campers on Friday.
WHY JOIN BAND CAMP?
• Campers receive approximately 3 hours/day of small group instruction

YOUR TEACHERS
Nick Roy
Nick Roy is an instrumental music teacher and band
director at Merivale High School in the OCDSB. Beginning
as a high school student in 2007, Nick was a founding
staff member of Dovercourt's Band Camp, and is thrilled
to now be in charge of the program. As an educator, Nick
has had the pleasure of providing many learning and
performing opportunities elsewhere in the community;
he currently sits on the executive committee of Capital
Region MusicFest, and directs a jazz ensemble for adult
learners with the Ottawa New Horizons Band program.
His school ensembles have consistently performed at
high levels of ability, including receiving invitations to
MusicFest Canada's National Festival.
Sarah Case
Sarah Case is an instrumental music teacher at Merivale
and Pinecrest schools in the OCDSB. Sarah also coaches
competitive gymnastics and directs a beginner concert
and jazz band at Merivale. Her favourite instruments are
the flute, piano and saxophone, and has taught private
lessons for students of all ages and levels. Sarah has also
had the opportunity to travel internationally and help
coordinate tours for musicians with Culture Path and for
previous schools. She has helped guide groups in Spain,
Portugal, Cuba, and Scotland. Sarah is thrilled to be a
part of the Dovercourt Band Camp this summer.
