I am married. We had a beautiful outdoor wedding in Napa,
all reds and golds and browns, surrounded by lovely people.
I now have a fabulous new husband. I am grateful for all
of the love in my life. We went to New Zealand and Fiji for
our honeymoon where we sky-dived, hiked, ate like pigs
and kayaked. It was fun! Now it’s back to real life, teaching,
making and selling art.
I have been somewhat bi-coastal for the past 10 years,
going back and forth between New York and San Francisco.
I’ve been in NYC for the past three years doing my research
and clinical training toward a Ph.D. in psychology, focusing
on stress and coping in adolescent immigrants. Last May, I
graduated from Berkeley and then moved back to the Bay
Area. New York was a really fun and stimulating place to live,
but it’s great to be back to the fresh air and slower pace of
the Bay Area, and to being closer to local friends and family.
My husband, David, moved first to start a judicial clerkship in
Oakland, and I have followed to start a fellowship at UCSF.
Other SFDS grad news: my brother Kiran (SFDS class of 1994)
was also living in SF and working as a litigator at a law firm
called Morrison and Foerster downtown. Now he’s in San
Juan, Puerto Rico, doing a judicial clerkship. Laura Goard
(class of 1995) visited me last spring for a fun weekend in
NYC. She has started an architecture grad program at UCLA
and is spending long hours slaving away in the studio. Her
brother Michael Goard (class of 1993) is also a UC-er, doing a
neuroscience Ph.D. at Berkeley - it was fun to start and finish
our education at the same schools! Kathie Goldsmith also
visited NY last year. She’s living in Denver and working in real
estate, but I think I’m going to have to recruit her back to SF
soon! That’s all the news I have. I hope everyone is enjoying
life and doing well.
After living in Germany and Switzerland for the last six years,
I am now back in the Bay Area with little Felix (23 months)
and husband Mark. Mark and I have just launched our new
website for homeowners looking for contractor referrals.
