Open for tennis
Sonning Tennis Club is holding an
Open Day on Sunday 4 June from
11am to 3pm. All ages — adults
and juniors — and all abilities are
invited to try tennis for free.
There will be free coaching 'taster'
sessions between 12 - 2pm, so wear your
trainers, meet some members, and play
tennis on the club's newly repainted
courts. Raquets will be available for all
ages on the day.

FoStAC summer
garden tea party

The Friends of St Andrew's Church
(FoStAC) invites you to join them
for a summer tea party on Sunday 9
July from 3-5.00pm.
The garden party will be held in the
garden of 22 West Drive Sonning by
kind permission of Richard and Jill
Brighton as part of its fund raising
programme designed to enable the
restoration, repair, maintenance,
improvement and beautification of
St Andrew’s Church.
Entrance is by a limited number
of tickets, price £20 per person, that
need to be reserved and paid for by
Sunday 2 July.

Reading Family Aid's Christmas
Gift Scheme is 30 years old
30 years ago this summer, Reading Family Aid, which had been operating
for 60 years, began its Christmas gift scheme for deprived children. In those
30 years they have given some 30,000 local children their only Christmas
presents.
This wouldn't have been possible without so much support from local people,
churches and other organisations, and they would like to say thank you to
everyone who has helped them reach this incredible milestone!
Reading Family Aid has also taken over 10,000 family members on trips to
theme parks, the pantomime, zoos, the seaside, farm parks, Camp Mohawk and
other local attractions. This, they said, was all thanks to the money donated by
the residents of Reading, businesses, places of worship, and charitable bodies.
They are now looking forward to another 30 years of putting smiles on families'
faces in the Reading area.
Friends of Me2 Club wanted to take part in
the Parallel Windsor Festival of Inclusivity
Me2 Club is looking for individuals, families, friends, groups or companies
to join them for their 2023 team, which is taking part in this year’s Parallel
Windsor Festival of Inclusivity on Sunday 2 July as part of its fund raising
campaign.
The festival is designed for people of all ages, abilities, and health conditions.
All participants will receive a Me2 Club team T-shirt plus a fund raising pack
with tips on how to set up your fundraising page, sponsor forms and ways to
raise funds towards this campaign.
Me2 Club enables the inclusion of children and young people with additional
needs into mainstream activities. This is done through trained volunteers
that provide 1-1 support. The Inclusion Training Project increases the skills,
knowledge and confidence of mainstream leaders through training and advice.
It also run residential trips for the children and volunteers involved in the
charity
Me2 Club is asking each participant in its Parallel Windsor Festival team
to raise a minimum of £100 for Me2 Club to help towards this year's target of

Rounders has come round again!
This year's annual rounders contest between local organisation and groups in
Sonning is on Friday 9 June at King George’s Field. Play will start at 5.45pm.
Which local village organisation or team will be crowned champions this
year? Spectators of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend and help
cheer teams to victory. Entry is free, but take some cash for the raffle and
refreshments which include a BBQ and a bar.
