08/ Major supporters & key promotional partners The Natural StoneShow 2011 The Royal Institute of British Architects The Royal Institute of British Architects is a valued longterm partner of the show and recognises the importance of stone as a design and building material to its 30,000 members. One of the most influential architectural institutions in the world, the organisation’s powerful collective voice is in constant dialogue with government, clients, users and the construction industry. The RIBA promotes the event to its members through the Event, News and Conference pages of the RIBA website,, and the weekly online Practice Bulletin. Printed coverage is also provided by the monthly RIBA Journal and event literature displayed at its HQ in Portland Place and distributed to its regional offices. Members are also encouraged to attend the Natural Stone & Building Conservation Conference which offers accredited CPD for architects. Stone Federation Great Britain Stone Federation Great Britain endorses The Natural Stone Show as their preferred trade exhibition for the UK & Ireland and promotes the event to the industry through their Set in Stone newsletter, Annual Conference and website. Together with their members, SFGB are presented within a specially designed Village at the centre of the exhibition. Federation experts are at hand to provide free guidance to visitors on all aspects of stone selection, fixing and maintenance, whilst live stonemasonry demonstrations and a Health & Safety helpdesk provide further focal points. SFGB use the show as a platform to launch industry initiatives such as the English Stone Forum, training programmes and the ‘Hallmarque’ scheme. They also actively support the Conference, organising the acclaimed Stone in the City CPD seminars. English Heritage National Association of Memorial Masons The Conservation Department at English Heritage plays a critical role in ensuring that the historic environment of England is properly maintained and cared for. Responsible for technical advice, research, policy development, standard setting, publications and training on the decay and treatment of historic building materials, they work in partnership with central government, local authorities, voluntary bodies and the private sector; they allocate conservation grants, preside over many of the nation’s most important historic buildings and provide expert advice to the building industry. Specialists from English Heritage are available in a dedicated conservation area at the show to discuss stone conservation, current research projects and training. They also oversee the conservation day of the Conference and help publicise the Natural Stone Show within the built heritage community. The National Association of Memorial Masons is the representative body of the memorial sector in the UK, a significant player in the granite, marble and stone processing machinery markets. NAMM have instigated many important industry initiatives including the setting up of BRAMM (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons) and its associated training programme that has improved safety standards regarding memorial fixings. As guardian of the craft, NAMM features a display of carved, sculptured and etched exhibits from their Craftex competition at the Natural Stone show and run a live demonstration of stone-cutting work that highlights modern design in memorial masonry. They work with the Organisers to market the event to their membership through direct mailing, their inhouse newsletter and promotion at the Tradex/Craftex exhibition held in association with the NFE.

Confindustria Marmomacchine Assomarmomacchine The Confindustria Marmomacchine exclusively recommends The Natural Stone Show as its preferred trade exhibition for the UK and Ireland. Boasting a membership of over 250 companies, it contains many of Italy’s major stone producers and machinery manufacturers. The Association takes a leading role in defining European standards and was instrumental in the recent launch of the European Natural Stone logo. It also conducts advanced training and updating courses for managers and technicians in cooperation with the International Marble Institute (IS.I.M.) of which it is a founding member. The Natural StoneShow 2011 /09 Marmomacc The Natural Stone Show is delighted to form a cooperation agreement with Marmomacc – The International Exhibition of Marble Stone and Technology and the world’s largest exhibition for the stone industry.
