Annual Report Fiscal Year 2008 Finances in Review
The report of finances for fiscal year 2008 (June 1, 2007 – May 31, 2008), as developed by our external auditors,
Plante & Moran, P.L.L.C., shows an extraordinary year for Interlochen Center for the Arts. Financially, this was the
best overall year in the history of the institution.
• Overall operating revenues of $29,978,000 set a record, thanks in large part to exceptional enrollments,
with especially strong growth at Interlochen Arts Camp.
• Total donations to Interlochen increased to a record $12.6 million, bringing our running five year average
to $8.8 million. Annual fund contributions increased 39 percent, the result of new outreach efforts and a
focus on leadership supporters.
• Ticket sales produced the strongest net contribution in a decade, along with auxiliary services such as lodging,
food purchases and gift shop sales. Online ticketing and gift sales continue to grow.
