Worship
Changes
It’s always a good thing
to introduce into worship
different elements that help
us praise God in refreshing
ways. Much has been discussed
by the Witness committee,
which has oversight
of worship, and we would
like to share with you some
of the things we have recently
discussed and the
changes afoot.
First of all, we are going
to use creeds once month in
the second service to remind
us of our beliefs. There are
several different kinds and
all lend themselves to a better,
deeper understanding of
who we are as the children
of God.
We will continue to have
communion at both services
twice a month. The liturgy
will look different from time
to time and I hope it will
enhance your communion
experience.
Jolene Stubby is planning
to lead music preceding
10:30 service twice a
month (the second and
fourth Sundays). A variety
of songs will help prepare
our hearts for the service.

CHRIST I�C. YOUTH REPORT

Happy New Year! Where did 2011 go? For
youth group it went to some amazing events: Project
Revolution, a mission trip to South Dakota where they
were challenged emotionally, physically and spiritually,
a Song of Solomon study where they were confronted
with difficult questions regarding dating, sex and relationships,
Bishop's Round-up, a study to uncover why
young people are pushed away from the church, Winter Jam, the list goes on!
What fantastic opportunities our youth were given that encouraged
them to grow in Christ! We finished the year with our Advent study along
with the rest of the congregation. Each week we learned more about the journey
to Bethlehem and what we can gain spiritually from reflecting on the trials
endured by Mary and Joseph, their reactions to an uncomfortable (at best)
situation and the support they received throughout the journey. I am grateful
for the opportunity to reflect, with the youth group, on the Advent season and
the birth of our savior.
As I look back on 2011 and envision 2012, a verse in 2 Corinthians
keeps coming to mind, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17. As the year
ends, we have a chance to start new, a fresh beginning just like as Christians,
we are made new, given the chance to start unsullied, with new purpose! Our
lives are filled with such possibilities! I cannot wait to see what Christ Inc.
will do in 2012—the lives they will touch through service projects, the lessons
they will learn and pass on, the fun we'll have just bonding! New beginnings
are so much fun!
As you look at 2012...making resolutions,
figuring out how to manage your time, budget
and responsibilities, will you reflect on the promises
that you've made to the youth in our congregation?
Will you resolve to commit some time to
fostering relationships with them, encouraging
them and being involved in your youth program?
I have struggled to find adults to help sponsor
weekly meetings, trips, service projects, etc. I will be praying for people to
step up and fill this void in the youth program. Will you be that answer?

volunteers for the audio/visual ministry during worship. It is not very difficult, and we will help you learn the
ropes! Expanded use of the visuals will also be explored. Together, let us make our worship meaningful and
filled with the passion of Christians who revel in the glory of salvation and oneness with the Holy Spirit. It is
through wondrous worship we can make a difference in the world and follow the commission given to us to
make disciples of Jesus Christ.
