Thoughts of just “coasting along” were mentioned and that was not what I wanted to hear. So with the help of the daughter of Hester Handley, Past State President, June Handley started to save newspapers for me. Every meeting, I would get two plastic sacks full of papers to look at when I had some time. Those reading sessions would allow me to write down about 5-7 names of women that worked! As I have time, I gather their work information from the yellow pages and try to talk to them about BPW. All of them are so honored that I would contact them! I have not met most of them but my list is 30 people strong and 5 have joined since May, 2011. In May, we had an active membership of 5 and now we are at 10, not bad for less than 4 months!!!! We range from 1-3 prospective members each time and they bring in such enthusiasm… Even some of the perennial members are saying that we need more community focus, what a blessing! Griffin will continue to work on membership for this upcoming year in hopes of achieving 15 by the end of the year! We are a source to be reckoned with, at this point! See you in Warner Robins at Fall Board. Toni S. Davis, Griffin BPW President Make plans to attend Fall Board! November 12, 2011
