ARTISTIC ARRANGEMENTS SCHEDULE BuckeyeDistrict Rose Show – August 25, 2012BuckeyeDistrict Rose Show Artistic Designs “ROSES IN THE QUEEN CITY” Cincinnati Where; Pigs Fly, Tigers Roam, and Red Legs are in Style (STANDARD SIZE ARRANGEMENTS) (Classes 1 – 7) SECTION A: Class 1 BUCKEYE DISTRICT ARRANGEMENT CHALLENGE CLASS Eligible for ARS Gold, Silver and Bronze Certifi cate and Trophy Class 1: A City of Seven Hills A design of arranger’s choice; the type of design must be written on the entry tag. The arrangement must use fresh outdoor grown roses. Roses must provide the dominant fl oral interest; however, other fl owers and foliage may also be used. If accessories are used, they must be subtle and relate to the class theme. The arranger may wish to use his/ her own background, provided it fi ts comfortably in the table space. If needed, a 3'' x 5'' card of interpretation may accompany the arrangement. Creativity and expressiveness should be emphasized in the design. Class 2: Fountain Square SECTION B: Classes 2, 3 TRADITIONAL ARRANGEMENTS Eligible for ARS Royalty Award, ARS Gold, Silver and Bronze Certifi cates, and Best of Section Trophy A gathering place in Downtown Cincinnati. Class 3: Findley Market Cincinnati’s version of the Pike Street Market, Seattle. WA. A mass design. Class 4: Cincinnati Reds Baseball SECTION C: Classes 4, 5 MODERN ARRANGEMENTS Eligible for ARS Artist’s Award, ARS Gold, Silver and Bronze Certifi cates, and Best of Section Trophy An abstract arrangement using materials appropriate to a baseball team as a part of the design. May have more than one emergence point for plant materials as well as more than one focal area. Class 5: Home Run Arranger’s choice of any other style of modern design. Type of design must be written on the entry tag. Class 6: Riverboat Ride at Sunset SECTION D: Classes 6, 7 ARRANGEMENTS IN THE ORIENTAL MANNER Eligible for ARS Oriental Award, ARS Gold, Silver and Bronze Certifi cates, and Best of Section Trophy A design of arranger’s choice in a low or medium size container or compote with water as a part of the design. Style of design must be written on the entry tag. Class 7: Sawyer Point -- A Park along the Ohio River Bank A design of arranger’s choice in a tall container or compote.
