ABOUT
ELIZABETH TORRES (MADAM NEVERSTOP)
Colombian/American poet, translator and multimedia artist.
She has a background in Media & Film and Fine Arts from Kean University,
NJ, and an MFA in Performing Arts from Den Danske Scenekunstskole (Writing
Specialization).
Winner of the Ambroggio Prize 2022 by the Academy of American Poets,
Elizabeth is the author of over 20 books of poetry published in Spanish,
English, Danish and German, and her poetry has also been included in
anthologies and literary journals around the planet. Elizabeth is a
frequent speaker at universities, poetry and culture festivals and other
events across Europe, Latin America and the US, having traveled to over
30 countries with her work.
Host of the Red Transmissions Podcast, and initiator of the international
audio collection Poetic Phonotheque, as well as a cultural organizer in
the Nordic regions.
Elizabeth is the director of Red Door Magazine & Red Door Gallery, with
which she provides a platform to local and international artists. She is
also project coordinator for other initiatives in Europe and abroa, and
director of the yearly Nature & Culture Poetry Film Festival.
