SWIM DEFINITIONS<br />
ADULT SUPERVISION RATIOS<br />
Please note when bringing children to an<br />
open or family <strong>swim</strong> we require the<br />
following in water supervision ratios: 5 yrs<br />
& under (1 Adult: 2 children); 6-9 yrs (1<br />
Adult: 4 children); 10 + (1 Adult: 8 children).<br />
OPEN<br />
Open to all age groups. Children (under 10<br />
yrs) must be accompanied by a person 16<br />
yrs or older who actively supervises the<br />
children in the water. The adult MUST be in<br />
the water. Children must be 10 yrs or older<br />
to enter alone.<br />
LAP SWIM<br />
Adult “length” <strong>swim</strong> in one lane<br />
only. Not for those who like to ‘bob<br />
& float’.<br />
Adult<br />
For patrons 18 + years. This is not a lap<br />
<strong>swim</strong>.<br />
Adult 50 +<br />
For Patrons 50 + . This is not a<br />
lap <strong>swim</strong>.<br />
FAMILY<br />
A <strong>swim</strong> for families, not groups or parties.<br />
Children must be actively supervised by an<br />
adult. (16 yrs or older) Please note: Adult<br />
must be in the water.<br />
ACcESsIBLE:<br />
For patrons with long-term disabilities/<br />
handicaps. Volunteers are encouraged to<br />
assist. “Annie’s Swim” (in memory of Anne<br />
Vivian), Wednesdays at 3pm, is free of<br />
charge while regular fees apply to the other<br />
accessible <strong>swim</strong>s (with the exception of<br />
volunteer assistants).<br />
