THE BASICS OF MOTOCROSS
M
otocross is a challenging and physically demanding sport that requires
a high level of skill and athleticism. It is also a very popular sport, with many
thousands of fans around the world who enjoy watching the races and
cheering on their favorite riders.
THE FLAGS
Green flag: This flag
indicates the start of a
race or a practice
session.
White with red cross:
Medical Attention
required.
Checkered flag: This
flag indicates the end
of a race or practice
session.
Blue flag: This flag
indicates that a faster
rider is approaching
and wants to
overtake.
Red flag: This flag
indicates that the race
or practice session
has been stopped due
to an incident or
dangerous conditions
on the track.
Yellow flag: This flag
indicates that there is
a potential danger on
the track, such as a
crashed rider or
debris. Riders must
slow down and
proceed with caution.
When waved, riders
must slow down and
not jump.
The basic rules of motocross are relatively simple: riders must
complete a set number of laps on the track, and the first rider to
cross the finish line is the winner. However, there are also rules
regarding safety, such as the use of protective gear, and
penalties for rule infractions.

Motocross is a physically demanding sport that requires a combination
of skill, strength, and technique. Here are some techniques that
motocross riders may use to improve their performance on the track:
Body positioning: Riders need to maintain a proper body position while
riding, including a slight forward lean, keeping weight over the front
wheel, and keeping the elbows up to absorb the impact of jumps and
obstacles.
Cornering: Riders need to master the art of cornering, which involves
leaning the bike into the turn, keeping the inside foot peg down, and
using the throttle to power out of the turn.
Jumping: Riders need to master the technique of jumping, which
involves timing the jump, keeping the bike level, and landing smoothly.
Whipping: This technique allows riders to make the bike spin 180
degrees in the air and land facing the opposite direction.
Power sliding: This technique allows riders to maintain speed while
cornering by sliding the rear wheel.
Ruts: Riders need to learn how to ride in ruts, which are deep grooves
in the track created by the tires of previous riders. This technique
involves using the ruts to maintain traction and control while cornering.
Line choice: Riders need to learn how to choose the best line on the
track, which is the path that allows them to maintain the most speed and
avoid obstacles.
Fitness: Motocross is a physically demanding sport that requires a high
level of fitness and endurance. Riders need to maintain a regular
training regimen that includes cardio, strength training, and stretching.

climax of the Revo ACU British
Motocross Championship! After
an absence of tracks in the south
we finaly return to the welsh
valleys at Monster Mountain. This
freshly revitalized track is primed
to set the stage for a motocross
spectacle like no other. With all
eight Championship titles
tantalizingly up for grabs, this
event promises to be an
adrenaline-fueled extravaganza
that will leave you on the edge of
your seats.
Monster Mountain has undergone
an extensive transformation in
preparation for this monumental
event. Countless hours of hard
work and dedication have gone
into perfecting every jump, turn,
and straightaway. The result? A
motocross battleground that's
poised to come alive with highoctane
action and jaw-dropping
thrills in the heart of the welsh
valleys.
Each and every Championship
class is gearing up for a
showdown of epic proportions.
From the lightning-fast 65cc
class, where young talents like
Harley Marczak and Casey Lister
are locked in a fierce battle, to
the heart-pounding showdowns in
the 250cc class, which took an
unexpected turn with Liam
Bennett's surprise victory, this
event promises drama at every
turn. In the MX2 category, the
stage is set for a nail-biting duel
as Isak Gifting strives to maintain
his lead against the relentless
pursuit of Taylor Hammal.
Meanwhile, in the MX1 class,
Conrad Mewse is fighting tooth
and nail to keep his
championship dreams alive
against a field of formidable
contenders including his team
mate Josh Gilbert who currently
sits second.
The smaller classes, such as the
65cc and Small Wheel, have
been serving up spectacular
races. Joel Winstanley-Dawson
and Jenson Severn have been
locked in thrilling battles,
providing fans with edge-of-theseat
entertainment. In the BW85
class, Charlie Richmond has
emerged as a standout
performer, but he's being closely
pursued by Josh Vail, Jamie
Keith, and Drew Stock, who are
all determined to seize their
moment of glory.
The 125cc class has seen its
fair share of excitement, with
Reece Jones consistently
dominating the field. However,
Wal Beaney, despite facing
setbacks, has been relentlessly
chasing Jones, making every
race a gripping contest. Keep an
eye on Tyla Hooley, who has
defied the odds, missing the first
three rounds of the season yet
still making his presence felt in
the overall standings.
MX2 has thrown up its fair
share of surprises. Isak Gifting,
once poised for championship
glory, is now facing an uphill
battle. The podium has seen the
emergence of new faces, with
Jorgen-Matthias Talviku and
Mel Pocock joining the fray. Yet,
Taylor Hammal remains in
striking distance, making it
anyone's game in the final
round.
I has been an intense season of
racing in the MX1 class, an
intense showdown between
teammates Conrad Mewse and
Josh Gilbert, will continue
through to Monster Mountain.
Meanwhile, Harri Kullas, a title
contender, faced an unexpected
setback at Schoolhouse,
slipping to fourth overall and
now trailing Mewse by 33
points.
