Welcome to the <strong>2023</strong> Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the <br />
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Production</strong> <strong>Awards</strong><br />
Congratulations to all of the nominees and recipients! You can and should be<br />
very proud of reaching this level of juried award recognition for your<br />
excellent work and the creativity, content and execution presented.<br />
Everyone in attendance, along with our other judges, are most<br />
certainly impressed with the high-level accomplishments you<br />
have exhibited in your work and entries.<br />
This year we received a record number of entries from<br />
throughout our region. This is great for all of us, as we<br />
value the diversity that this broad cross-section of<br />
entrants provides on so many levels. As an<br />
organization, there is no better way to reflect the<br />
make-up of our students, professionals, members,<br />
and potential members, than to have them widely<br />
represented here, now and going forward. We<br />
welcome the many schools and students who<br />
participated in our <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Production</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> for<br />
the first time this year and welcome back our<br />
previous competing schools and students.<br />
As you may know, each year we present the Rocky<br />
Mountain Emmy <strong>Awards</strong> and other professional<br />
awards and programs. Another priority of our<br />
organization and its members is to continually focus<br />
on supporting and mentoring our future practitioners<br />
and leaders by offering educational programs,<br />
scholarships, these <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Production</strong> <strong>Awards</strong>, and other<br />
opportunities. Through our Rocky Mountain Emmy<br />
Foundation and the NATAS Foundation, we offer a wide variety<br />
of scholarships, both regionally and nationally. We encourage you<br />
to speak with your families and advisors about these and other<br />

Welcome to the <strong>2023</strong> Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the <br />
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Production</strong> <strong>Awards</strong><br />
Congratulations to all of the nominees and recipients! You inspire and impress us more than you know and should be so<br />
proud of your achievements this past school year.<br />
This year we received a record 291 high school and college entries<br />
from all over our Rocky Mountain Southwest region. I also want<br />
to give a warm welcome to new entrants including Agua Fria<br />
High School, Desert Edge High School, La Joya<br />
Community High School, Canyon View High School,<br />
East Valley Institute of Technology, Mountain Pointe<br />
High School, Pinnacle High School, Scottsdale<br />
Community College, South Mountain High School<br />
and Xavier College Preparatory. You have once<br />
again expanded our <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Production</strong> <strong>Awards</strong><br />
across our region. Thank you all for spreading the<br />
word! There really is no better way to launch your<br />
career in the field of television arts and sciences.<br />
I am very honored to be your <strong>Student</strong><br />
<strong>Production</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> host for the 7th time! Your<br />
incredible talent is what motivated me to join the<br />
board of governors after hosting for the first time<br />
in 2017. I'm also honored to serve as your<br />
Education Chair focused on bringing you<br />
opportunities such as our Lunch and Learn<br />
program. This program covers a wide variety of topics<br />
in our industry and is customizable based on the<br />
advisor's and students' studies and interests. We can<br />
help facilitate guest speakers to come to your school or<br />
set up off-site workshops. I hope your school will take<br />
advantage of this free program!<br />
Through our Rocky Mountain Emmy Foundation, we also support<br />
students with scholarships at Arizona State University, The University of<br />
Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Utah State University, The University of New Mexico, Arizona Western College, and<br />
with the Douglas W. Mummert Community Service Scholarship. I encourage you to speak with your advisors about these<br />
scholarship opportunities!<br />
In your journey through education, internships and even entering into your career, never stop working hard for your dream<br />
