All of our production plants around the world are at the centre of Ariston Group's energy
efficiency plan. This consists of a long-term strategy that in 2019 allowed the Group to achieve a
remarkable result: over 10,000 tons of CO2 equivalent avoided thanks to the energy efficiency of
the production processes.

In 2023, Ariston Group presented its ESG vision and goals to 2030 with Road to 100, a strategic
plan manifesto of the group's commitment to sustainability.

Connecting the Flue
Flue System
The terminal should be located with due regard for the damage
or discolouration that might occur on buildings in the vicinity, it
must also be located in a place not likely to cause nuisance.
In cold or humid weather water vapour may condense on
leaving the flue terminal.
The effect of such "steaming" must be considered.
If the terminal is less than 2 metres above a balcony, above
ground or above a flat roof to which people have access, then
a suitable stainless steel terminal guard must be fitted.
The minimum acceptable spacing from the terminal to
obstructions and ventilation openings are specified in Fig. 1.

The provision for satisfactory flue termination must be made as described in BS 5440-1:2008. The appliance must be installed so
that the flue terminal is exposed to outdoor air. The terminal must not discharge into another room or space such as an outhouse or

How it works
The receiver is the device that allows communication between heat
generator and system. The CUBE RF room sensors radio thermostats send
the heating request directly to the heat generator. The latter sends a signal
to the multi-zone radio module for activation of the recirculation pumps or

Andris is a range of small, unvented water heaters fed directly from
the cold water mains supply. With dimensions starting from only 315mm
wide by 250mm deep, they are perfect for applications where space
is at a premium, such as bathrooms, kitchens, annexes and garages.
Units are available in over and undersink variants, in a number of sizes
and capacities, allowing them not only to be added to an existing water
system, but also fitted in small spaces, such as inside cupboards.

GREEN INCENTIVES
Schemes such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) are
available in the UK to financially incentivise homeowners

What are they?
Heat pumps use the same technology as the everyday fridge-freezer, only reversed!
This technology plays a considerable role in reaching our collective goal of reducing demand
for fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Heat pumps operate on a refrigerant
cycle which enables the collection of heat to be efficiently transfered into a heating or hot
water system.

The most common types of heat pumps are air-source, as opposed to ground-source.
In air-source heat pumps, heat is extracted from the outside air and is used to provide heat
for radiators or a domestic hot water tank. Air source heat pumps are easy to install, more
space efficient compared to their ground source counterparts. All Ariston heat pumps are airsource
systems and can efficiently extract heat from air as cold as -10ºC.

Monobloc & Split
The way refrigerant cycles through a heat pump determines whether it is a monobloc or
split system. But what do these terms mean? The heat pump is a monobloc system if the
refrigerant is self-contained within the unit. A split system means the refrigerant is piped out
of the unit and into a home to complete the cycle. Both monobloc and split systems have
their benefits, but their selection depends on the application.

How does a heat pump work?
Heat pump technology is powered by refrigerant — a compound typically found in a fluid or
gaseous state. A refrigerant works by absorbing heat from the environment, and within the
refrigerant circuit it uses components such as condensers, compressors, and evaporators
to produce heat. The heat pump is a closed circuit in which a refrigerant flows.

Nuos Plus Wi-Fi

Green Mode

Green mode is active on the Nuos Plus Wi-Fi by
default. This operating mode ensures that the
only heating source is the heat pump itself. Nuos
Plus Wi-Fi can achieve a maximum hot water
temperature of 62ºC in Green mode, and this is
the most energy efficient mode on the unit.
I-Memory is a brand new mode which learns the
user's water usage habits and automatically creates
a pre-heating schedule. On week one, the unit is in
a constant learning process, and during the second
week, Nuos Plus Wi-Fi implements its findings to
activate a completely tailored, intelligent heating
schedule.

Comfort Mode
The Comfort mode can be activated to achieve
faster reheat times. If a large amount of water
is drawn from the unit while it is preheating, the
heating element will kick in and replace or assist
the heat pump to replenish the water as quickly
as possible, maintaining maximum comfort levels
at all times.
Programming
The Programming mode on Nuos Plus Wi-Fi allows the user to create their own daily and weekly
pre-heating schedule to maximise comfort. This, like all other modes can be set directly from the
front panel on the unit or through the Ariston NET app.
Boost Mode
Ariston NET
In Boost mode, the Nuos Plus Wi-Fi will heat up as
quickly as possible using the combined heat pump
and heating element until the desired temperature
is reached. This is a temporary function and, once
pre-heating is achieved, the unit will return to its
previously set mode.
Nuos Plus Wi-Fi is fully compatible with the Ariston NET app. Connecting the Nuos to Ariston’s
dedicated smartphone app is completely optional, but provides the ultimate control of your
hot water system from the palm of your hand. Anything from simply raising the temperature to
setting a weekly hot water schedule can be easily completed through the app, as well as indepth
energy consumption reports to maximise the savings. The Nuos Plus Wi-Fi 250i model
can also be connected to the Ariston NET app when used in conjunction with an Ariston system
boiler and Sensys HD NET Control.

Refrigerant types are classed based on their efficiency and environmental impact.
Ariston’s Nimbus heating heat pumps (Pages 124-135) use the highly efficient R32
refrigerant with a global warming potential that is a third lower than other commonly
used refrigerants like R410. R32 also has an ozone depletion potential of zero, which
makes it one of the greenest refrigerant gases available to date.

connection is not available or reliable as product searches can be stored locally.
