CHARLENE’S JOURNEY:
FINDING RELAXATION AND
FRIENDSHIP AT FERGUSLIE
In 2021, Charlene Galloway, who lives in Ferguslie, decided to check out the local Ferguslie
Learning Centre. Her friend, who was taking a Childcare course there, couldn’t stop talking about
how much she loved it and thought Charlene would enjoy it too. Even though Childcare wasn’t
quite right for her, Charlene discovered other courses at the centre that sparked her interest.
Dealing with anxiety, Charlene was on the lookout for something that could help her feel better mentally. Encouraged
by her friend’s experience, she decided to give it a try and signed up for a course. That decision turned out to be a
game-changer. Charlene found herself returning to the centre year after year, drawn by the courses that made a real
difference in her life. he immersed herself in classes like Wellbeing, elaxation and tress Techniques, Lifestyle dvice
and Mindfulness, Stress Management, and Personal Health.
To Charlene’s surprise, these courses were more than just educational; they
were a source of relaxation and enjoyment that she hadn’t anticipated liking
so much. They’ve been a big help in managing her anxiety. When asked what
she’d say to others considering visiting the centre, Charlene’s enthusiastic:
“You absolutely should. You’ll enjoy it, make new friends, and have a great
time.”
Charlene loves everything about the Centre—the peaceful vibe, the
friendly staff, and the chance to meet new people. he’s even made
friends with other students, and they support each other outside of
class, which has been fantastic.
You’ll enjoy it, make
new friends, and have a
great time.
