Along the trail, you can take a break at the field boundary and enjoy the view of Alsønderup Engsø. On the right side are the fields of the organic farm Mangholm, where you can experience the café, farm shop, or Mangholm's weekend restaurant. When you return to Kulsviergården in Alsønderup, you can either walk along the main road or enjoy the view from a new angle and follow the signs back the same way you came. Good to know The kulsvier (charcoal burners) were typically small farmers who earned a little extra money for the household by producing charcoal which was sold at Hillerød Market, and used to heat the town's houses. There is occasional hunting in the fields, which will be signposted at Mangholm and Kulsviergården. Dogs are welcome on the walk but must be kept on a (short) leash. At Mangholm, there are free-ranging animals – so dogs are unfortunately not allowed there.
