The renowned course located in Swanley, Kent, famously known as <strong>Canada</strong> <strong>Heights</strong>, earned<br />
its moniker during the 1914-18 War when it served as a campsite for a significant contingent<br />
of Canadian troops stationed atop its high ground. Since then, it has been a hub for off-road<br />
motorcycle sports, particularly under the auspices of the Sidcup and District Motorcycle Club<br />
since 1952. Throughout its storied history, <strong>Canada</strong> <strong>Heights</strong> has played host to a plethora of<br />
events, ranging from local club competitions to prestigious international contests. Notably, it<br />
garnered substantial attention and national television coverage during the 1960s, courtesy of<br />
the BBC's "Grandstand Trophy" events, drawing large crowds of enthusiasts.<br />
Despite its popularity and frequent utilisation<br />
by riders and spectators alike, <strong>Canada</strong><br />
<strong>Heights</strong> remained largely undeveloped until<br />
1985, when the Sidcup Club, with support<br />
from the Sports Council and various<br />
sponsors, acquired it, transforming it from a<br />
rough piece of land into a premier<br />
motorcycling destination.

The basic rules of motocross are relatively simple: riders<br />

2024 Dirt Store ACU British Motocross<br />
Championship Continues. Beginning with the MX1<br />
class, and legendary Red Bull KTM star Jeffrey<br />
Herlings is back for this round after reigning<br />
supreme at Lyng. Eager to continue gathering<br />
momentum, the man who sits fourth in the MXGP<br />
standings will relish this opportunity to get in<br />
another vital hit-out against many impressive<br />
adversaries.<br />
Having engaged in a thrilling duel with Crendon<br />
Tru7 Honda ace Conrad Mewse in round one, the<br />
flying Dutchman will be ready to resume<br />
hostilities with the Brit at <strong>Canada</strong> <strong>Heights</strong>, as each<br />
man guns for glory.<br />
Coming in with some excellent rides in the Fastest<br />
40 and Scottish Championship, Mewse will be<br />
confident he can challenge the formidable #84<br />
after and sharing moto wins with the five-time<br />
world champion in their previous duel.<br />
The same goes for Tom Grimshaw and Martin<br />
Barr, as the Apico Honda pair will be<br />
determined to better their 11th and sixth<br />
placed efforts respectively. Indeed, with<br />
Grimshaw fresh from racing the recent MXGP<br />
of France, Barr getting some quality<br />
gatedrops in Scotland and both featuring in<br />
the Fastest 40, they'll be primed to shine.<br />
Watch for Jason Meara and Brad Todd to be<br />
right up there as well, for they'll be wanting to<br />
back up their assured showings at Norwich<br />
Vikings MC with polished outings this time<br />
around too.<br />
The quality doesn't end there, for the likes<br />
Sam Nunn, Callum Green, Carlton Husband,<br />
Dan Thornhill, Billy Mackenzie and Dylan<br />
Woodcock round out a stacked MX1 class.<br />
Gabriel SS24 KTM's Josh Gilbert won't be content<br />
with his third from Lyng when he bagged 4-3<br />
moto scores, as the MXGP pilot is building steadily<br />
and getting things back on track following some<br />
early season injuries.<br />
Tristan Purdon and Charlie Putnam of the SC<br />
Sporthomes Husqvarna team will be keen to<br />
improve on their showings too, which will make<br />
them dangerous propositions this weekend.
Shifting the focus to MX2, and the stage is set for<br />
another intriguing showdown between Cas Valk and<br />
Jack Chambers. Splitting race wins at Cadders Hill,<br />
the dynamic duo will be chomping at the bit to rise<br />
to the occasion to run out victorious.<br />
Dirt Store Kawasaki speedsters Tommy Searle and<br />
Joel Rizzi, who claimed third and fourth in the opener,<br />
will also be hoping to stamp their mark and push for<br />
the top step in this deep class.<br />
British sensation Billy Askew is sure to be on it as well.<br />
Fresh from a solid eighth overall in EMX250 in France<br />
and progressing nicely this term, he'll definitely be<br />
one to watch.<br />
Expect Crendon Tru7 Honda's Taylor Hammal and<br />
Jake Nicholls, alongside the likes of Dylan Walsh, Syd<br />
Putnam, Elliott Banks-Browne, Alfie Jones, Ben<br />

hard in their own pursuits to flex their muscles on<br />

QUALIFIERS<br />
Eleven esteemed motocross clubs from across England, Wales,<br />
Scotland, and Northern Ireland have been chosen to host<br />
qualifying rounds for the highly anticipated 2024 ACU British<br />
Auto Cup, alongside the 65cc and Small Wheel 85cc ACU<br />
British Championship. This unprecedented partnership<br />
underscores the dedication of these clubs, alongside RHL<br />
Activities and the ACU, to fostering and supporting young<br />
motocross talent throughout the country.<br />
These qualifying rounds represent a vital<br />
opportunity for riders to showcase their abilities<br />
and earn a coveted spot in the prestigious 2024<br />
Dirt Store ACU British Motocross Championship.<br />
The ACU British Auto Cup Final is scheduled for<br />
June 7th & 8th, while selected riders in the 65cc<br />
and Small Wheel 85cc classes will compete<br />
across four rounds of the Dirt Store ACU British<br />
Motocross Championship.<br />
