12 on Union: The Table Fall Issue
This issue of The Table will give you insight into who we serve, how we do it, why we need to continue growing our programming, and how you can help. Can’t donate monetarily or with an in-kind donation? We still need your prayers; without prayer, we’d cease being Jesus’ hands and feet. Thank you for supporting The 12 and learning with us as we grow. The work we do would mean little if not for those who fight alongside us.

Coming together to impact the lives of our homeless and those in need
V1 | MMXXIII | Manchester NH
A note from Craig & Mary
Summer is flying by, but we are just as busy as ever! The Winter Warming
season ended on March 31st, and that gave us a minute to catch our breath and
plan how we can best serve our community in these warmer months. There have
been wonderful changes implemented to better support our existing model and
mission. We now have three incredible Floor staff who not only fill our client’s
bellies with food and coffee but fill their hearts with Jesus’ love. Our residents
are working or volunteering, and in pursuit of a healthy and long-term life of
recovery. As we continue to build the resident floor to accommodate 20 more
men, we pray constantly for our building to be a beacon of hope in Manchester.
We continue to partner with homeless, mental health, and housing service
agencies, ever building relationships with organizations who support our
clients in their overall improved quality of life. Our work is never done!
In every season, we still need
help. With warmer weather,
our showers are open for
longer periods of time, we
serve more water and food to
those seeking shelter from the
heat and downpours, and our
building needs constant upkeep.
We know that our current
success and status would not be
possible without the kindness
shown by our supporters. In
this season of growth, please
continue this journey with us.
THANK YOU TO ALL
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
RESIDENT
SPOTLIGHT
DAYS
WITH DEAN
Dean Shean had a heart for
serving the recovery community
long before he stepped foot in
the doors of <strong>12</strong>69 Café. The sense
of belonging he soon felt at The <strong>12</strong> encouraged him
to take action. Dean, originally from the Derry area,
has been in Manchester for five years. Battling many
addictions including cocaine (which he quit cold
turkey), Dean struggled to find stability in his life.
After issues with his housing situation, Dean found
himself living in encampments and relapsing again
after two years of sobriety. In 2020, Dean stumbled
into the doors of <strong>12</strong>69 Café on Chestnut Street, just
needing a shower and someplace warm. He was
greeted with kindness by staff and volunteers and
has been connected to The <strong>12</strong> ever since. The COVID
lockdown proved very difficult for Dean and while
he was connected to people who cared for him, he
had a very long journey to sobriety. After rehab and
working through tough relationships in his life, Dean
knew it was time for a positive change.
Currently, Dean is 100 days sober. When he isn’t
encouraging his housemates in their sobriety
journeys, Dean volunteers daily at The <strong>12</strong>. He sits
with clients, sharing his vast knowledge of rehab
programs and sober living resources, and recently
facilitated an ALL Recovery Meeting for residents.
He wants to give back to his community and support
those on their recovery journey in a “safe space,”
at The <strong>12</strong>. Dean believes he is spending his time at
a “prominent Manchester organization,” and when
he volunteers his time at The <strong>12</strong>, he is helping those
who were him, only just a short time ago. Dean’s
long-term goals are to find permanent housing and
be a successful, steady resource for his community
seeking sobriety. In the meantime, you can find Dean
serving lunch or sitting with friends at The <strong>12</strong>. He
is already an asset to our volunteers and staff and
makes an impact daily in many small ways.
18 FOR THE <strong>12</strong> GOLF TOURNAMENT
RAISES $XX,000
Café <strong>12</strong>69 raised $XX,000 at its annual charity golf tournament hosted by Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown, NH.
More than 130 golfers turned out to support the expansion work at the Union Street center, offering temporary single
occupancy rooms on the expanded second floor for the area’s homeless and working poor community members.
On Monday, June 19th, organization leaders and guests of The <strong>12</strong> welcomed sponsors, golfers, friends and volunteers
for a beautiful day of heartfelt support. Contests included longest drives, closest to the pin and putting contests.
At lunchtime, Stonebridge provided a delicious spread, and guests and golfers learned more about our mission
and heard the soulful sounds of XYZ singers.
This year, additional funds were raised at our
live and mission auction. Tournament sponsors
included: Northeast Planning Associates, Better
Life Partners, CPIN, Anthem, Overwhelmed
Ministry, Humana, Tom & Dee’s Auto Sales,
Duckett Law, Shiloh Community Church, Sarah
Andrews Consulting, Hope for New Hampshire
Recovery, and Hope City Church.
Thank you to all who participated in this day of fun and fundraising to support our ministry.
