Fourth of July<br />

in Groveport<br />

The city of Groveport will celebrate<br />

Independence Day on July 3 and July 4.<br />

Activities along Wirt Road on July 3<br />

include: live music performances by Mama<br />

Drama at 5 p.m., Devin Henry at 6:30 p.m.,<br />

and Crush Bon Jovi Experience at 8 p.m.;<br />

food trucks; family activities; and fireworks<br />

at dusk accompanied by music on radio frequency<br />

88.3.<br />

Activities on July 4 include:<br />

•Red, White, and Kids Parade begins at<br />

10:30 a.m. Staging at 10 a.m. on the<br />

Groveport Elementary playground and<br />

parking at Middle School Central. Parade<br />

starts at 751 Main St., goes west on Main<br />

Street and south on Oak Street to Crooked<br />

Alley KidSpace, 630 Wirt Road.<br />

•Main Fourth of July Parade begins at<br />

11 a.m. Staging at the Groveport<br />

Recreation Center, 7370 Groveport Road,<br />

at 8 a.m. Parade starts at Richardson Road<br />

and goes west on Main Street, then north<br />

on Hendron Road, and ending at<br />

Glendening Elementary.<br />

Famous Fortress Fireworks<br />

Obetz will celebrate Independence Day<br />

with the Famous Fortress Fireworks on<br />

July 3. From 6-10 p.m. there will be food<br />

trucks, inflatables, and more. The fireworks<br />

begin at 9:50 p.m. Fortress Obetz is<br />

located at 2015 Recreation Trail, Obetz.<br />

Zucchinifest: A weekend<br />

musical extravaganza<br />

The <strong>2024</strong> Obetz Zucchinifest will be held<br />

Aug. 30 from 5-11 p.m.; Aug. 31 from 11<br />

a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sept. 1 from 11 a.m. to 11<br />

p.m.; and Sept. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. at<br />

Fortress Obetz, 2015 Recreation Trail,<br />

Obetz.<br />

This year’s event features a star-studded<br />

musical line-up includes:<br />

•Rewind to the ‘90s: Dru Hill will headline<br />

the Aug. 31 entertainment, bringing<br />

their classic hits and energy to Fortress<br />

Obetz. Joining them are legends from the<br />

decade like Digital Underground, C&C<br />

Music Factory, and the Tag Team.<br />

•Country Music Under the Stars: On<br />

Sept. 1 Gary Allan will take the stage as<br />

the headline act. Parmalee will perform at<br />

7 p.m. followed by Gary Allan at 8:30 p.m.<br />

Fortress Friday Flicks<br />

Fortress Friday Flicks, held at 2015<br />

Recreation Trail, Obetz, recreates the<br />

drive-in movie experience and promises<br />

evenings filled with family-friendly entertainment<br />

under the stars from <strong>June</strong> to<br />

August.<br />

Admission to Fortress Friday Flicks is<br />

free.<br />

Fortress Friday Flicks features three<br />

evenings of movie magic. Each event begins<br />

at 8 p.m. The movie line up:<br />

•<strong>June</strong> 14: “Little Giants” — A heartwarming<br />

classic.<br />

•July 12: “Wonka” — Take a magical<br />

journey through Willy Wonka’s chocolate<br />

factory, filled with wonder, whimsy, and<br />

delicious surprises.<br />

•Aug. 2: “Migration” — Embark on an<br />

adventure through space and time as a<br />

young girl discovers her true destiny. It’s a<br />

tale of courage, discovery, and the power of<br />

dreams.<br />

CW’s Music in the Park<br />

<strong>Canal</strong> <strong>Winchester</strong>’s Music in the Park is<br />

a free summer concert series held the third<br />

Friday of the month from 6-9 p.m. at<br />

Stradley Park, 30 S. High St., through<br />

September weather permitting.<br />

Attendees are encouraged to bring a<br />

lawn chair and picnic, purchase food from<br />

one of the food trucks on site, or carry-out<br />

from one of the downtown restaurants.<br />

Visitors can purchase alcoholic beverages<br />

from participating establishments to enjoy<br />

within the Designated Outdoor<br />

Refreshment Area (DORA) boundaries.<br />

website.<br />

No outside alcohol is permitted within<br />

the park.<br />

Come on <strong>June</strong> 21 for Pet Palooza and<br />

live music from The Treble Catz. Then on<br />

July 19, the Gas Pump Jockeys return for a<br />

record 17th season for the annual Cruise-<br />

In Car Show, hosted by C-Town Cruisers.<br />

The End of Summer Bash on Aug. 16 features<br />

music by Creek Don’t Rise then close<br />

out the season on Sept. 20 with a Fall Fest.<br />
