Alexandra Moskalenko
Born in Paris, Alexandra Moskalenko comes from a family of painters of French and Latvian/Ukrainian origins.
She is a self-taught artist. Her paintings celebrate diversity and often depict people from various ethnic origins
on colourful vintage fabric, exploring the concept of identity and displacement, informed by the artist's own
experience of coming from a multicultural background and living in London, one of the world’s most
cosmopolitan cities. The large, vibrantly coloured canvases become statement pieces for what ‘fitting in’ or
belonging may mean and question how a character can influence an environment and vice versa.
Her recent body of work features endangered bird species and plants exploring in the process the concept of
freedom, conservation, biodiversity, and the relationship between human beings and the natural world.
She has exhibited her work at the Blackheath Halls (2000), Menier Gallery (2016), Jonaquest Art Gallery (2018),
Artfix (2021), Fresh and Affordable Art Fair (2021 and 2022) and more recently at the Lighthouse Gallery (March
and May 2024), J/M Gallery (March and May 2024) and Holy Art Gallery (April 2024). One of her paintings
‘Madonna and Child (Mum and Kid) II’ was shortlisted for the Brixton Art Prize and exhibited at the Department
Store in Brixton (July 2022). One of her paintings was shortlisted by the Visible Artist Award (May 2023)
sponsored by Audible and is subsequently being exhibited for 3 years at the HQ of Audible London. She has
works in private collections in France, England and the United States.

Alexandre Santacruz
Artist Statement
At a very young age I was mesmerized by the visual side of communication. Images to convey messages,
vessels of understanding and timeless vocabulary. Shapes and textures first came to me while playing
with clay on my grandmother’s land, revealing feelings and thoughts with its beauty, of mystery and
creative flow. While my close observation of life kept growing, and my journey as a gay man became
clear, my love for magazines, colour, books and all the printed matter; that I could put my hands on
(including my parents black and white photo albums) led me to collage.
The fine line between the elasticity of clay, and the enormous possibility of collage creations, makes
them the perfect mediums to convey messages. Delicate and sensuous, deep and intricate, funny and
serious they are vessels of love; love of identity (mental health, gender, sexuality, race) and is endless
possibility of being!!!
Artist Biography
Alexandre Santacruz was born in Portugal in 1964 where he trained as a ceramic artist and potter at
Coimbra’s respected Cearte school, graduating in 1984 and soon after achieving his first show in nearby
Leiria. Santacruz is an accomplished artist who encompasses collage work, mixed media, graphic design,
painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and set design. Moving to London in the 1990’s his work
continues to find an audience in his adopted home. He has exhibited internationally, featuring in the
Arizona Collage Collective & Kolaj Institute book Transitional Moments (restoring equilibrium through
the art of collage) in 2021.

Anastasya Martynova
Anastasya is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist and designer working across gilded glass, painting, wood carving and
site-specific artworks. A previous background of set design and art direction, has allowed Anastasya to branch out and
collaborate on a range of diverse projects spanning from fine surface design commissions to large-scale sculptural
installations.
Nature, with its infinite wonders and colour palettes serves as her muse and teacher. Other recurring themes in her work
encompass harmony, intuition and the enigma of the unseen. Quite often the use of precious metals becomes both a tool
and a metaphor for illuminating spaces, instilling them with a positive charge - whether assuming a more totemic and
hypnotic aura as in my geometric glass artworks or imbuing a sense of playfulness in the more organic, shimmeringdreamscape
paintings.
The solitude imposed by the pandemic has been a particularly poignant revelation, unveiling the creative sanctuary of
silence and the healing power of the natural world. In the past year Anastasya has been working on a painting series “Love
Notes to Nature” in gratitude and to show the accessibility of it to us all. Some pieces are more impressionistic in style,
while others venture into abstraction, each echoing her emotional response to moments spent outdoors.
Aside from her own painting practice in London, she works internationally on exhibition design projects - “my main
motivation is to add a sense of magic to a space”. Stand out projects so far have been for the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm,
Lilijevalchs in Stockholm and the National Museum of Qatar in Doha.

Anna Hornik
Anna Hornik is a contemporary visionary artist who works with various media. Her mission is to create art that elevates
humanity, using her platform to raise awareness of difficult social issues by dressing them up in artistic communication.
Through her work, Anna aims to spark conversations and evoke empathy, transforming personal and societal struggles
into powerful visual narratives.
Born in Poland and based in London, Anna's artistic journey has been profoundly shaped by her own experiences with
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. "Broken Ballerina," one of her most compelling projects, was
borne out of these personal challenges. In her words:
"Broken Ballerina is an exploration of fragility and strength, both physical and emotional. It's a reflection of my daily
battle with a condition that is often invisible to the outside world. Through my art, I seek to make the unseen seen, and
to give a voice to those who suffer in silence”.

Caroline Burgess
Caroline’s sculptures contain fleeting memories of the lightness experienced from immersion in nature; echoes of
landscapes and seascapes where individual human life becomes insignificant and free from all trauma and mundanity.
The artworks evoke a sense of beauty and a certain loss and loneliness, at once life-affirming and full of uncertainty. The
subtle vulnerabilities that result from the fabric manipulation become the essence of the sculpture as Caroline strives to
create a piece that emanates both strength and fragility. In this way the works express an emotional response to her
lived experience as a woman in twenty first century London.
“The touch and smell of new linen and fresh cotton is always exciting. And I particularly enjoy the physicality of the
making process as the material is wrapped and manipulated to transform it into a 3D form. As my hands create the
textures, I have the feeling of a profound sense of history bound into the fabric. I am reminded of the creativity and
industriousness of my mother, of skills passed on from one generation of women to the next. The energy expended in
the construction flows through the sculpture as light plays on the textured surface and animates the form.”

Mark Walker
‘The Ladies of the Lake’ is jointly inspired by a photograph by Eva Watkins of a
synchronised swimming group and the play ‘The Ponds’ by Peggy pollard, about a safe
space for female swimmers that is thrown into turmoil by the discovery of a man’s body in
the lake. The four figures pictured are contemplating the moment they will plunge into the
bracing waters. The artist has had a lifelong love of wild swimming.

Oana Badulescu
"My name is Oana Badulescu and I am an artist. I have attended the Tiberiu Breticeanu art school in Brasov Romania, from
where I have learned some of the styles that I am using in my arts. I have participated in multiple art competitions in
Romania and most recently here in London. Natively I am very creative and attentive on the details, skills that I am
applying in every painting that I am making. I like combining and mixing, and as a result I am bringing the art in the
people's hearts by making and selling art that customers are asking."

Paul Blenkhorn
Paul Blenkhorn is a Manchester (UK) based artist and computer engineer who has been working in the field of sensory
stimulation since the 1980s. Much of this has been developing computer-based systems to visually attract/interact with
profoundly disabled children. He is interested in the light/colour of forms and the objects around them and has developed
numerous apps for the earliest learners over the years both in academia (he retired as an Emeritus Professor of Assistive
Technology in 2007) and in several disability companies. He is especially interested in our emotional responses to those
images. More recently this work has expanded into two new areas.
The first is abstract, non-representational painting that has sometimes been drifting towards the surreal. Secondly, his
computing background is being exploited to explore and create digital works (static, interactive and videos) around
significant memories from the arts (especially fine art, TV and cinema) travel, other life experiences and social
change. Areas of interest are in politics, the environment, and migration.

Scott Gibson
Artist Statement
The theme here is using nature and framing to create pieces connected by communication. There is a need it seems to
recreate megaliths of culture through personal expression rather than the other way around. It's like a trading of roles
leading to variations in the cultural value we take from what we see. We might not believe what we see but repeated
reminders of what we find in other parts of society reinforce our valuation of our sights and experiences thus making
culture relevant to the person experiencing it. The frustration for nature is finding a way to communicate that value to
the mass rather than the individual.
Bio
El Relleno (sometimes referred to as "the filling") has been interrupted many times in his life. He sought answers to
these objections to his existence and found solace in art. He has been taking photographs of nature this past year and
the results have led him to believe that he has found the answer to everything. All he has to do now is make friends

Shveta Maini
Shveta is an abstract artist born and raised in various cities across vibrant India. Growing up, she was exposed to a
multitude of cultures, languages, and traditions, all of which have deeply influenced her artistic practice. With a
background in surface textiles, Shveta has a keen eye for texture and an innate understanding of the interplay of colours.
Her paintings are a reflection of her intuitive process, as she allows her emotions to guide her brushstrokes.
Inspired by the natural world, Shveta translates the beauty of the environment around her into her abstract works. Her
process involves layering different textures, colours, and shapes, resulting in a deeply textured and emotive final product.
Her paintings are a visual representation of the energy and emotion that flows through her, and she brings a unique depth
and richness to each piece.
With a deep understanding of the power of colour and texture, Shveta creates art that is both thought-provoking and
visually stunning. Her paintings invite the viewer to engage with the work on a deeper level, to explore the textures,
shapes, and colours and to draw their own meanings from the abstract forms. Her art continues to inspire and captivate
audiences, showcasing her unique talent and creativity as an artist.
Shveta has exhibited her artworks both in the UK and India. Her work is held in various private collections across the
world. She has also been commissioned to create custom pieces for corporate and private clients.

Sophie Batey
Sophie Batey is a Greater Manchester based artist, working predominantly with charcoals and acrylics. Her art examines
themes of solitude, but with a sense of positivity using bright colours and optimistic tones.
Sophie often expresses her themes using orbs, circles and apples, while many of her works have pathways and elements of
mystery.
But Sophie constantly returns to painting apples, although not in a traditional still life sense, she places her apples in
positions of jeopardy or gives them a sense of importance in isolation.
Apple on a Plinth underwent numerous changes, finally complete after many weeks of revisions. Sophie painted long into
the night, under a single light, into the small hours, creating this work.

Stella Arion
London-based artist Stella Arion, specialising in sculpture and ceramics, delves into the vulnerability of clay as a medium
for self-exploration and self-identification. Her artistic aspirations delve into the human condition, examining the
interplay of traumas, transformations, ties, and disjunctions with nature and our own identities. Arion's creations defy
traditional ceramic norms, embodying her unrestrained and dynamic methodology in manipulating clay.
Integral to Stella Arion's artistic practice is the commitment to pushing the boundaries of material exploration. Delving
into a profound interaction with diverse clays, she strives to craft intricately textured surfaces. The artist achieves this
dynamism by employing both industrial and volcanic glazes, harmonising them with geological forms. The amalgamation
of porcelain, black and red stoneware showcases her experimental approach. She explores the transformative potential
of tin, scrutinising its reaction to heat as it undergoes shifts and deformations. Harnessing the influence of high firing
temperatures, she capitalises on the metamorphic effects they impart on the final piece. Employing a spectrum of black
and volcanic glazes on black stoneware, allows for subtle light refractions to accentuate the contours of each artwork. It
draws out the textures and subtleties of the surface.
She sculpturally explores the metaphor of the crack, which is very present in her works, which bear a striking
resemblance to nature – mirroring cracked, sun-drenched riverbeds and volcanic stones. Cracks symbolise the breakdown
of systems.
