Abel Beyene – Ethiopia
Abel Beyene (born 1995, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia) is an interdisciplinary
visual artist who explores the relationship between shifting identities
and global issues through his acrylic paintings, collages, oil paintings,
digital art and photography. Beyene studied art at Abyssinia Fine Arts &
Vocational Training Centre and at the Teferi Mekonen School between
the years of 2015-2018.
Beyene investigates themes of history, diversity, knowledge and
migration, addressing the complexities of the human experience in an
ever-changing world. His work has been showcased in various art
exhibitions, and he has actively participated in workshops and volunteer
services.
Abel Beyene
Drawing from his Ethiopian heritage and the rich cultural tapestry of
Addis Ababa, Beyene’s art serves as a medium for social commentary
and a catalyst for dialogue. Through his multidisciplinary approach, he
challenges conventional notions of identity and belonging, inviting
viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of individuals and the
global community.
As an emerging artist, Abel Beyene continues to refine his artistic

in Yaoundé, Cameroon. His artistic journey began in primary school,
