through Joshua Nations
Last week marked a historic moment for Joshua
Nations as we hosted a pivotal gathering of
key African leaders for a transformative week
of training, prayer, strategy, and fellowship.
Rev. Villy Bohmer, Vice President of Joshua
Nations, described the event as “…probably
the most humbling yet important and exciting
ministry event of my life.” The week surpassed
all expectations, leaving a profound impact on
everyone involved.
For nearly two decades, Joshua Nations has
been dedicated to planting seeds of discipleship
across the African continent. This commitment
bore significant fruit last week as we brought
together top leaders from Kenya, Tanzania, the
Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa,
Zambia, Uganda, Togo, Malawi, and Madagascar.
These influential figures not only represented
their own countries but also represented
relational influence across additional nations.
This gathering and the influence of the delegates
illustrated the expansive network and impact of
our ministry. As of this newsletter, thousands of
Bible Training Centers (BTCs) have been launched
throughout Africa, a testament to the Holy Spirit’s
empowering presence. We are still gathering and
compiling the data received from our leaders who
attended this event.
The Nairobi Summit commenced with a day
focused on prayer and relationship building,
coupled with sharing impactful reports from
various nations. Hearing from these precious
leaders of the breadth and depth of the reach
and impact of Joshua Nations were profoundly
inspiring The second day was marked by a
significant milestone: the ordination of John
Wandera, Emmanuel Shikaputo, and Wilhelm
Bohmer Sr. These three esteemed leaders were
commissioned to oversee Joshua Nations’
efforts across the African continent, working in
close collaboration with both African national
leaders and our U.S. based team. This ordination
ceremony was not only a formal recognition
of their roles but also a powerful declaration of
our commitment to empower and entrust these
leaders with the mission of winning their nations
for Jesus.
The following days included several sessions
led by the newly ordained African Executive
team, who taught on effective strategies for
multiplying BTCs within their regions. They
shared best practices in planning, strategy, and
implementation, which were enriched by focused
training sessions led by Dr. James Chacko
on developing national teams and mentoring
leaders. Additionally, Shea Rouser, Villy Bohmer,
and Karine Resende covered a wide range of
crucial topics, including reporting procedures,
disciple-making movements, engaging the youth
and the next generation of leaders, and the role of
women in leadership.
This event not only strengthened the bonds
among our leaders but also reinforced our vision
and strategy for continued growth and impact
throughout Africa. Your continued support and
prayers are vital as we press forward, committed
to discipling nations and fulfilling the Great
Commission.

Cultivating a Lifestyle
of Hearing and
Obeying God’s Voice
Embrace a Lifestyle of Action and
Faith

In our walk with the Lord, it’s crucial to not only
hear His words but to act on them. As James
1:22-25 reminds us, we must be “doers of the
word, and not hearers only,” which transforms
hearing into a proactive commitment. This
passage encourages us to not merely listen
passively but to engage actively with the Word,
applying it in our daily lives. Reflecting on these
scriptures in your personal study can help deepen
your understanding and strengthen your resolve
to live out your faith.
Tune Your Spiritual Ears
Listening to the voice of the Good Shepherd
becomes easier as we continually tune our
spiritual ears to His guidance. This ongoing
process helps us recognize His voice amidst the
noise of our busy lives. Regular prayer, meditation
on Scripture, and quiet time in His presence are
practices that enhance our spiritual sensitivity. By
dedicating time each day to listen for God’s voice,
we train ourselves to discern His will more clearly
and consistently.
Stay Open and Sensitive
God delights in our close relationship with Him and
may choose to speak in new or unfamiliar ways to
draw us deeper into intimacy. These unexpected
communications can occur during different
times and seasons of our life, ensuring that we
remain attentive and committed to seeking Him
continually. Embrace flexibility in how you receive
His messages, understanding that a formulaic
approach to hearing God’s voice can limit our
spiritual growth. However, when you sense that
God is speaking to you, remember that His true
voice will always align with Scripture and stand the
test of time. It is vital to seek confirmation through
the Bible, prayer, peace, and trusted counselors
(people). God will not contradict Himself, and
therefore we must discern His voice.
In Practice
To integrate these principles into your life, consider
starting a journal dedicated to record and reflect
on the moments you feel God is speaking to
you. Review these entries periodically to observe
patterns, seek scriptural alignment, and evaluate
the outcomes of your obedience. This practical
tool can serve as a powerful reminder of God’s
active presence in your life and help cultivate a
deeper, more obedient relationship with Him.
