Welcome to THIS ISSUE OF BBT Monthly
I hope you’re all beating the cold especially our friends in the southern States!
Winter has definitely made its presence felt causing many wet tracks which are
playing a bit of havoc with some of our horses’ results.
Some flops you just have to put a line through but we’ve been lucky enough to
get 4 winners this month.
Rhodesian Diamond, Luconi, Twin Turbo and Exceed the Sky have all
given their owners something to smile about.
You can hear all about their victories in David’s Monthly Video Wrap.
With the Australians doing us proud at the Olympic Games capturing Gold
after Gold, we hope you’re taking advantage of our Go For Gold Promotion.
If you’re thinking of buying a share in one of our horses, now is a fantastic time
to secure a share with 5% discount on all shares, plus a free BlueBlood
Thoroughbreds limited edition puffer jacket or vest and cap. You’ll also receive
a free month of Management fees.
The promotion runs for the duration of the Games so there is still time left to
take advanatge of the opportunity but hurry as jacket numbers are limited and
many people have jumped on board already.
August 1st as you may well know is the official Birthday of horses in the
Southern Hemisphere. We will be giving your horse an extra carrot or two for
the milestone and we look forward to some of our 2yo’s launching their careers
in the not too distant future.
One such horse is a superb colt by Russian Revolution out of Rocket Of
Ransom. He’s a spectacular grey individual who’s just commenced pre-training
with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr. More information on him is available in
this issue and I’m sure you will like what you see.
Have a fantastic month!
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY!
Just $3,350 per 2.5% share in this outstanding
colt by Russian Revolution to be trained by
Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr
Russian Revolution has just completed another breakout season
at stud finishing on top of the 3rd Season Sire list by winners
and 2nd to Hellbent on prizemoney.
This superb colt has gone from strength to strength every time we’ve reported on his progress. He is currently
in pre-training and just a week or so from heading to Victoria to the Price Kent yard to start full training.
Hopefully he will be forward enough to get to the races this time in. All indicators suggest that’s the case so we
could be looking at a late Spring debut for this guy. Regardless, he is an excitement package and we cannot
wait to unleash him!
Take advantage of our GO FOR GOLD promotion running while the Olympics are on and receive 5% discount
on the purchase price, a month of free management and a limited edition BBT puffer vest of jacket and a cap.
CONNECTIONS CORNER...
The horses are our lifeblood and the Owners are our oxygen, so we thought it
would be a great idea to introduce to you some of the people who make
BlueBlood’s the success it has become to date.
STEVEN THOMPSON
How long have you been an Owner with Blueblood Thoroughbreds (BBT)?
3 and 1/2 years
What got you interested in racing and then ownership?
My dad was avid punter. We bought a horse together in the mid nineties. I've owned dozens of
horses since, including Shaye Spice, Moonee Valley horse of the year.
How many horses are you involved in currently with BBT?
Currently 9
What do u look for when you buy into a horse.
I rely 100% on recommendation of trainers and agents.
Which horses that you've owned with BBT have given you the biggest thrill.
Quite excited about Luconi. He looks like he has a very bright future.
Which race would you most love to win and why? Melbourne Cup, Slipper or Cox Plate.
Happy with any of them.
Who is your favourite Trainer?
I like Peter Moody's brutal honesty but Gai and Adrian doing a great job with Luconi.
Which jockey would you want on every one of your horses?
Would have been D Oliver but there are so many great Jockeys now.
How do you celebrate a nice win by one of your horses?
Buy another horse!
CONNECTIONS CORNER .

STEVEN THOMPSON (Cont.)
Are you a punter and if yes do you have a best win story and a hard luck story?
Not really a punter. Bet on my own horses when I think they're a chance. Bet when I go the races.
Roxby Downs Cup this weekend. Few bevvies and a punt!
Do you prefer when your horses win by leading all the way or finishing hard over top?
Finishing hard over the top.
Your favourite Racecourse?
Flemington
What’s the funniest thing you have ever seen in racing?
I named Shaye Spice after my daughter Shaye. She won her first start by 6 lengths at Oakbank.
Shaye was a toddler and when the crowd started screaming for Shaye Spice, my daughter was
astonished that everyone knew her name, and why were they yelling it out!
Who is your favourite Sire?
Nicconi
Can you remember your first winner with BBT?
Zoughandi I think
Is there anything you would change about horse racing?
More prize money would encourage more ownership
What is the best part about being an Owner with BBT?
It’s hassle free. Previously I was normally the manager, dealing with other Owners, Trainers and
Jockeys. Not always enjoyable.
What’s In A Name?
Ever thought you were born to do something?
Jockeys:
J. Whipp, D. Short, B. Small, A. Prentice
J. Quinell(a) A.Ryder, C. Pace, N. Furlong
C. Puls and T.Block.
Trainers:
R. Goodwin, J. Sadler, C. Crook, R. Hay
B. Gentle, M. Trotter, C. Quick
