Surrounded by natural beauty and rustic charm, The 

Reserves at Stone Pillars Farm is situated amidst the 

peaceful countryside of Goshen Township. As we gather 

to celebrate this extraordinary showcase of innovative 

home design and superior craftsmanship, let us take a 

moment to reflect on the resilience of Goshen Township. 

It was just two years ago that a tornado tore through this 

community leaving behind a path of devastation, but 

in that moment, Goshen showed us all their spirit and 

determination to rebuild their community. In building the 

homes at HOMEARAMA® 2024, the HBA and its members 

are happy to play a small role in the enduring strength and unity of this remarkable 

community that is “Goshen Strong.” 

Situated on the old Klosterman family horse farm, the developers of The Reserves 

at Stone Pillars Farm – Klosterman Farm Land Development, LLC (Scott Lucke, Dan 

deStefano and Tim Myers) – took extra care to preserve its equestrian foundation but 

create new homesteads where families can create their own legacy. Though situated 

in a quiet rural setting with an exclusive group of estate homes, the neighborhood 

provides easy access to downtown Loveland shops and restaurants, four golf courses, 

the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail, and the Cincinnati Nature Center.

app. Parking is included with your ticket price. A special two-day ticket will be available for $30 at the gate only. 

Children 12 and under are admitted for free if accompanied by an adult. 

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS 

GPS Address: 6791 OH 48 (Oakland Road), Loveland, OH 45140 

From I-275 North or South, take the Wards Corner Exit. Go east on Wards Corner Road (toward Loveland). Turn 

right on Loveland-Miamiville Road, (turns into Paxton Road, proceed straight). Turn right on OH 48 (Oakland Road) 

and proceed about 1 mile to the entrance of The Reserves at Stone Pillars Farm. Parking will be available on-site. 

There is no entrance to HOMEARAMA ® from Smith Road. 

IMPORTANT SHOW INFORMATION 

There is no charge for parking as the ticket price includes on-site parking. Parking is located on-site and will be a 

gravel lot. The HBA, HOMEARAMA ® or the developer are not responsible for valuables that are left in cars, muddy 

cars, gravel dust or muddy shoes. If it is raining, or if it has rained for a considerable amount of time, you can 

assume that the lot could be muddy and you should plan accordingly. 

Delicious food, beer and wine will be available from Bishop’s Quarter and The Wicked Pickle at HOMEARAMA ® . 

There are many fabulous shops, bars and restaurants located in Goshen Township and nearby Historic Downtown 

Loveland that you can visit on your way to the show or after the show. A restroom trailer and ADA Accessible 

restrooms will be available on site. Numerous events are being planned for HOMEARAMA ® 2024. All events and 

details are listed on the HOMEARAMA ® website CincyHomearama.com. 

No strollers, wagons or child backpacks with metal frames are permitted in the show homes. No pets are permitted 

within the show site, except for service animals (documentation is required for service animals). We suggest 

you wear gym shoes or flat shoes to HOMEARAMA ® . There is a considerable amount of walking at the show and 

there are steps in most of the homes. 

ADA ACCESSIBILITY NOTICE 

Please be aware that the homes being shown in the HOMEARAMA ® home show are not ADA accessible. The 

homes are privately owned, built for general marketing and resale purposes to the general public. Therefore, they 

are not required to be, nor can they be equipped for ADA accessibility. Only the ADA accessible parking lot area, 

public restrooms and concession area are ADA accessible.

GETTING TO KNOW 


With biblical origins, the phrase “Land o’ Goshen!” is far older than Goshen 

Township itself, but its meaning—a place of comfort and plenty—could not 

be more fitting. This growing community of 17,500 people, located east of 

Cincinnati on 34 square miles in Clermont County, offers strong schools, 

convenient shopping, rich recreation areas, and ample employment opportunities—all 

in an inviting rural countryside setting. ➻ 


Deep Roots 

The area was founded by German and English settlers, 

most of whom had migrated down the Ohio River from 

western Pennsylvania after fighting in the Revolutionary 

War. In 1819, Jacob Meyers from Penn’s Valley, PA, 

bought several hundred acres on one branch of the 

O'Bannon Creek. He is believed to be the first permanent 

settler. 

A log cabin near the creek originally built by the Stroup 

family, was later purchased by the Cook family who 

farmed there for over 100 years. That building is now the 

Log Cabin Heritage Center. 

Between 1825-1830, Benjamin Thacker built a house 

with limestone quarried from the creek. The two-story 

structure had walls over 10 inches thick, multiple fireplaces, 

a spacious "keeping room," and a full basement, making 

it one of the more impressive homes in town. The house is 

now home to the Goshen Township Historical Society and 

serves a living history example of early farm life. 

In slightly more current times, Goshen Township was 

home to WWII Flying Ace Colonel John Voll and baseball 

legend Sam Leever. Elvis Presley even made a brief visit! 

Award-Winning Schools 

Goshen Local Schools have held blue ribbon status, making 

it a highly desirable school district. A portion of the 

Goshen Township community is within the Loveland 

School District which covers more than 15 miles and overlaps 

three counties—Hamilton, Clermont and Warren. 

The district serves a population of 50,000 residents. 

Outdoor Opportunities 

The Cincinnati Nature Center’s Long Branch Farm and 

Trails is located in Goshen as well as the community park, 

Marr Park, known for its frisbee golf course. The Little 

Miami Scenic Bike Trail and Stonelick State Park are just 

minutes away. Plus, golf enthusiasts will be happy to know 

there are four golf courses within a five-minute drive. 

Shopping and Dining 

While Goshen Township boasts a limited number of fastfood 

options, it also offers several beloved local eateries. 

Lori’s American Grill and Weiss Baking Co. are popular 

destinations that draw visitors from neighboring communities. 

Skyline Chili is a valued local hangout. For sweet

treats, residents flock to Holtman’s Donuts and Sprinkles 

for ice cream. The Goshen Grind offers a popular spot for 

coffee and delicious frappes. 

Goshen Township offers a mix of local businesses and 

convenient shopping options. For home improvement 

needs, Beck’s Hardware is a go-to spot. Outdoor enthusiasts 

can explore Hammer Down Range, which offers gun 

sales, accessories, and an indoor shooting range. Wage 

War Apparel provides custom designs and spirit wear for 

the community. Eastgate Lanes offers bowling fun for all 

ages, hosting parties and events in addition to league play. 

For groceries, residents rely on the local Kroger. 

Goshen Strong 

Goshen Township was struck by an EF2 tornado at 3:05 

pm on July 6, 2022. The twister was 500 yards wide 

with winds of 135 mph and damaged or destroyed 298 

structures while, mercifully, sparing lives. The community 

continues to rebuild—including one of their two fire stations 

which was destroyed by the tornado. In the aftermath, 

the compassion and resilience of the community 

was showcased. 

Top-Notch Services 

Goshen Township is the fourth largest of the fourteen 

townships in Clermont County. It is governed by three 

elected Trustees and a Fiscal Officer. Along with the 

appointed Township Administrator, they work to ensure 

Goshen runs smoothly. 

The community boasts professional fire, EMS, and 

police services. Their EMS received the 2023 Ohio EMS 

Agency of the Year award. Additionally, their accredited 

police department is one of only seven in the state with 

fewer than 25 officers to earn such a professional distinction.

HOMEARAMA ® 2024 neighbor sets 

the stage for an equestrian theme

Looks can be deceiving. After an initial approach via a nearly halfmile-long 

drive with equestrian arenas to the left and to the right, 

you arrive at what you might guess to be a century-old, hand-hewn 

log cabin. The scene is bucolic. The home sits amidst acres of open 

land with a bountiful supply of mature trees, a rippling pond, and 

horse stables and their residents trotting in nearby fields. 

While the trees, horses and ponds are what they appear, the main 

cabin is a bit of an illusion. Seasoned architects have estimated the 

home to be over 100 years old, but in fact it was built in 1981. 

The original owner and his wife purchased this 228-acre property 

in Goshen Township to accommodate her passion for horses. The 

log cabin was built with a design and materials supplied by a firm in 

northern Quebec. ➻ 


Nearby neighbors 

Kevin Malof and his wife Jodi lived across 

the street from the cabin for 20 years. 

Once the land was passed on to the owners’ 

children, there was interest from a production 

builder to place 600 homes on the 

property. That’s when Kevin approached 

the family about buying the property with 

a plan to maintain as much rural land as 

possible. 

He contacted an acquaintance he met 

through his son’s school, Dan deStefano 

with deStefano Homes and Remodeling. 

The two men produced a scenario which 

parceled out just under 40 acres for luxury 

home development which they dubbed 

The Reserves at Stone Pillars Farm, the 

site of this year’s HOMEARAMA®. Next, 

they allotted 11 parcels ranging in size 

from 11 to 30 acres each. The “smaller” of 

these are for single residences, the largest 

is home to the equestrian facility, White 

Tail Eventing. The land includes four miles 

of riding and walking trails. 

The Malofs would hold on to 60 acres 

keeping the setting of the log cabin home 

idyllic. 

A bit of hesitation 

Meanwhile, Jodi was not enthusiastic about 

living through a remodel of the log cabin. 

“I didn’t want to live in a house with a lot 

of small rooms,” she says. “Plus, for 30 

years—our whole marriage—we’ve been 

renovating.” Between businesses the couple 

owns in Loveland—including Curated 

Fine Furnishings and Design and Bishop’s 

Quarter—and previous homes, she says it’s 

been a constant stream of remodeling work. 

When Kevin said, “We are going to hire 

someone to do it right,” Jodi’s attitude 

shifted. That “someone” was the team at 

deStefano Homes and Remodeling, led 

by Dan and Rocky deStefano. The couple 

closed on the property in October of 2022 

and construction began the following 

February. 

The hearth room’s fireplace is original, 

but a new floating mantel was added. 

An interior wall of hand-hewn timbers 

adds a rustic touch to the library. 


BEFORE 

Thanks to a reworking of a dormer and 

roofline, the slanted wall was removed from 

the primary bath to make room for this spalike 

replacement. 

First things first 

“At our first meeting, Kevin asked me if we could get the home to a point 

where Jodi liked it and it was functional,” Rocky says. 

One of the major roadblocks was the primary bathroom. The ceiling was 

angled so steeply that movement in the space was terribly limited. “There 

wasn’t even enough room to hang a mirror over the vanity,” Jodi says. 

It was important to Jodi, who suffers with back issues, to have space for 

a soaking tub. Not having that, she says, was a “dealbreaker.” To make the 

space work, the construction crew “completely blew out the dormer and 

roof” over the bath area, to now have the vertical space to include a wet 

room with a spacious shower and the requisite tub. 

“That’s now one of my favorite rooms,” Jodi says. 

Respectfully updated 

As it was with the primary bath, the major goal for the entire home, Rocky 

says, was to keep the integrity of the original structure, but bring it up to 

spec. “We were shooting for a happy medium between adding modern 

amenities and keeping with the style of the cabin.” ➻ 


Something old, something new 

To hold on to the charm, many of the log cabin’s original elements 

remained in place. Existing hardwood floors, true-divided light windows 

and interior and exterior doors were refinished. 

As for the mechanics, all the plumbing was updated, lighting 

fixtures were replaced, a new roof was added and the exterior was 

re-stained. Plus, the kitchen and baths were remodeled from the 

floor up. 

The original kitchen had one island, but a wall and an enclosed 

butler’s pantry were removed for a more open flow between the 

kitchen and dining and living areas. A second island was added which 

provides additional seating and when needed, acts as a serving area 

for the dining room. 

The front dual staircase was kept, but a new 

iron stair rail gives it some panache.

More horsing around 

This newly improved home has revealed 

a whole new side of Jodi as well. Possibly, 

in channeling the spirit of the previous 

lady of the house, she has taken up, and 

taken to, horseback riding on Annie, her 

12-year-old Tennessee Walker. 

“I have never been around horses in my 

life,” she says. “At first I was nervous. But 

now I groom her, tack her and do everything 

myself.” 

Kevin, who has been around horses his 

whole life, saddles up Levi, his 5-yearold 

Rocky Mountain Horse. The couple’s 

sons, Max and Alex, who are in their 20s, 

don’t ride, but given the setting of their 

parents’ compound, that could change in 

the future.
