How to Use These Crystals
To utilise the benefits of these crystals in decisionmaking
and exercising free will, you can:
Meditate with the crystals, holding them in
your hand or placing them on your body to
align your energy with theirs.
Carry them in your pocket or wear them as
jewellery to keep their energy close throughout
the day.
Place them in your environment, such as on
your desk or in your living space, to create an
energy of clarity and focus.
Sleep with them under your pillow to help gain
insights and clarity during dreams.
Incorporating these crystals into your daily routine
can help you harness their energy to make more
informed, confident, and spiritually aligned
decisions.
You can also experiment by using more than one
crystal together to see how that can amplify the
effectiveness depending on what you wish to
achieve.
It would be great to hear your feedback on how
you have used crystals in your life and how they
have benefitted you.
FREE WILL FROM A
WICCAN POINT
Sue Penney
What is free will and how does it help us understand
our fundamental base as a human being.
Writing as someone who follows a Wiccan way of life in
Wiccan beliefs, free will is a core principle that
underscores the liberty and responsibility of each
individual to make their own choices. Wicca places
significant emphasis on personal empowerment, ethical
living, and the interconnectedness of all life. Here’s a
detailed exploration of free will from a Wiccan
perspective:
Personal Autonomy and Empowerment
Wicca celebrates the inherent power within each
person. Free will is seen as the ability of individuals to
shape their own destinies through their actions,
intentions, and magical practices. Wiccans believe that
everyone has the power to make choices that affect
their lives and the world around them. This belief is
empowering, as it places the individual at the centre of
their spiritual and practical life.
The Wiccan Rede
The Wiccan Rede is a key ethical guideline in Wicca,
famously stating, "An it harm none, do what ye will."
This phrase highlights the importance of free will while
simultaneously emphasizing the responsibility that
comes with it. Wiccans are encouraged to follow their
own paths and make their own decisions, provided that
their actions do not cause harm to anyone and that
includes themselves. This balance between freedom
and responsibility is crucial in Wiccan ethics.
Karma and the Threefold Law
Wicca also incorporates the concept of karma and the
Threefold Law, which states that whatever energy a
person puts out into the world, whether positive or
negative, will return to them three times over.
7

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 27
This belief reinforces the idea that individuals are free to make
their own choices, but they must also be prepared to accept the
consequences of those choices. It encourages mindful decisionmaking
and ethical behaviour, aligning with the principle of free
will.
Interconnectedness and Responsibility
Wiccans view the universe as an interconnected web of life,
where every action has a ripple effect. Free will is exercised
with the understanding that one's choices can impact the
greater whole. This perspective fosters a sense of responsibility
towards the environment, other beings, and the community.
Wiccans are encouraged to consider the broader implications of
their actions, using their free will to contribute positively to the
world.
Magical Practice
In Wicca, the practice of magic is an expression of free will. By
casting spells and performing rituals, Wiccans actively seek to
influence their reality and manifest their desires. This practice
is deeply personal and varies from individual to individual,
reflecting the diverse ways in which free will can be exercised.
Magic in Wicca is often seen as a form of self-empowerment,
enabling practitioners to take control of their lives and work
towards their goals.
Sue Penney
Soul Verse
soulverse.co.uk
Spiritual Growth and Self-Discovery
Free will in Wicca is also about the journey of self-discovery
and spiritual growth. Wiccans are encouraged to explore their
beliefs, develop their own spiritual practices, and seek
knowledge from a variety of sources. This path is highly
individualistic, with each person using their free will to find
their own truth and develop their unique spiritual identity.
There really is no right or wrong way to practice Wiccan. One
of the rules simply is that there are no rules.
Conclusion
In the Wiccan sense, free will is a cherished and fundamental
principle that empowers individuals to shape their own
destinies while maintaining a deep sense of responsibility
towards others and the natural world. It is intertwined with
ethical guidelines like the Wiccan Rede and the Threefold Law,
which emphasise the importance of making mindful and
compassionate choices. Through the exercise of free will,
Wiccans strive for personal empowerment, spiritual growth,
and a harmonious relationship with the interconnected web of
life.
PEACE ON
EARTH
John Sjovik
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Peace on Earth?
There are many songs about Peace. Think about John
Lennon and ”Imagine”. Think of Bob Dylan and the song
“Blowin' In The Wind”. Think of Burt F. Bacharach / Hal
David and “What the World Needs Now Is Love”.What do
they all mean?
What is Peace?
When I was a child, another child walked up to me in the
school playground and punched me in the face. Some time
ago I was out jogging. As I ran past some football grounds,
I heard a supporter of one of the teams yell abuse at the
other team. Yesterday, I visited a town centre of a major
city when I saw a man crossing the street against a red
light, forcing the driver of a car to slam the brakes in order
not to hit a man crossing the road.
Now consider the songs I mentioned, by Lennon, Dylan
and Bacharach /David. Suppose they describe a world of
love and compassion, that has become realised by singing,
wishing and desiring it to be. Would that mean that bad
things, such as the punch and the abuse, would not
happen?
Otherwise, what does “peace on Earth” mean? Or is there
a degree of peace? A war between nations is cancelled but
a punch in the face is accepted? For the time being, I
leave it for you, dear reader, to think about those
questions.
There is a great challenge in the way people see war as
well as peace as entities in their own right. The way news
media and people speak of War often give the impression
that it is some kind of self-propelled behemoth, that we
struggle to control from our external position.
9

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Yet, think of the expression ’what if they threw a war and nobody came?’ We often view Peace in the same
fashion, as if it is a state of bliss, which is to be enjoyed with no need for personal effort. We often talk
about peaceful countries, as if it is a region that automatically remains in a state of Peace by its own virtue
and everybody who moves there will be embraced by the grace of Peace.
One approach
As I see it, any major conflict between nations or regions begins with a confrontation between one human
being and another. A child punching another child could escalate into a country invading another. And
Likewise, any major Peace is born out of respect and acceptance between two human beings. We have a
choice.
The seed of War lies within each and every one of us. I challenge the reader to assure me that he /she has
never felt an urge to punch somebody in the face, like that child did in my childhood school playground.
The embryo for Peace is within our hearts. If you allow it to grow, it will bring compassion and love to the
way you envisage the world.
Regrettably, Peace is unstable. It can be defined as a state of harmony and balance, devoid of violence and
hate. This is something that we must strive to regain on a daily basis. It does not happen automatically.
Peace is like fresh produce. It will not last for very long. It is your responsibility, dear reader, to refresh it and
re-create it.
Keep in mind the saying that whatever you feed will grow. And energy flows where attention goes.
War or Peace? It is your own choice. The buck stops with you.
I wish you a peaceful day.
CRAFT &
PAINT
Joannah Bishop
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
I was lucky to buy a pottery cafe business in
Christchurch two years ago.
It’s a wonderful place where you can come in, pick a
piece of pottery and let your imagination do the
rest.
This has become the sister company to Better Care
at Home, our domiciliary care agency.
We offer a hug in a mug for our oldies, who come in
to paint a mug or a bowl. They get a hot drink and a
slice of cake. We also offer chair yoga and a sing-along
as part of the package. Of course, this is
optional and has proven to be highly successful.
11

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
We also have a downstairs party room, that can be
hired for any occasion from Birthdays to Hen
parties, corporate brainstorms and much more.
We have over 400 pieces of pottery to choose to
suit everyone’s budget.
Painting is a great way to relax and take some time
out for yourself in a calm and beautiful environment
and it’s for ages from 6-90.
I am always looking for old and new ways to build
communities, and bring people together.
We are all connected, so if we can improve one
person’s life, this will spread to others.
Together, let’s make living better!
I look forward to seeing you in the cafe!
THE GOSPEL OF MARY
MAGDALENE
Julie de Vere Hunt
The gospel of Mary was first discovered in Egypt in 1896,
some fifty years before the discovery of the Nag Hammadi
Library in 1945.
This is the only gospel to be assigned to a woman – Mary
Magdalene. Sadly, less than eight pages have survived, as
pages 1-6 and 11-14 are missing; but we still see a very
different picture of Mary Magdalene than that portrayed by
the New Testament. In most theological studies she has
been depicted as a reformed prostitute, the redeemed
sinner who exemplifies Yeshua’s mercy.
The ’Gospel of Mary Magdalene’ presents a radical
interpretation of Yeshua’s teachings as a path to inner
spiritual knowledge and challenges our romantic view of
harmony within the first Christian groups. More
significantly, we see Mary Magdalene not as a weeping
submissive woman, but a strong, stable spiritual leader who,
because of her understanding was privy to Yeshua’s private
teachings.
As the first six pages are missing, the gospel opens in the
middle of a post-resurrection appearance by Yeshua
(referred to as the Saviour) to his disciples in which he
answers their questions and offers a farewell discourse
before commissioning them to go out to preach the gospel
of the kingdom.
But the disciples do not go out joyfully to preach the gospel;
instead, controversy erupts. All the disciples except Mary
have failed to understand the Saviour’s teachings. Inner
peace is nowhere to be found - they are distraught and
frightened that preaching the gospel may result in them
suffering the same agonizing fate.
Mary steps in and comforts them and Peter asks Mary to
recount teaching unknown to them that she had received in
a vision.
14

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
She agrees and tells them about the rise of the soul past the
powers of Darkness, Ignorance, Desire and Wrath, who seek
to keep the soul trapped in the world and ignorant of its
true spiritual nature.
When she is finished, she stands in silence, imitating the
soul at rest. But the peace is disturbed by Andrew
questioning the ‘strangeness’ of her teaching. Peter
challenges whether Yeshua would give private instruction to
a woman, thus showing he actually preferred her to the
other disciples.
Mary begins to cry at Peter’s accusation. Levi comes quickly
to her defence, reminding Peter he is a notorious hot-head
and now he was treating Mary as the enemy. He
admonishes them instead to do as the Saviour instructed
them and go out to preach the gospel. The story ends here
but the controversy is far from over. Andrew and Peter have
not understood the Saviour’s teaching and are offended by
Yeshua’s apparent preference of a woman over them.
History is written by the winners. Many voices were
silenced through repression or neglect. The Gospel of Mary
gives us information not recorded in the New Testament. It
is not a question of right and wrong. The information we
have been given was just incomplete.
This is a short summary of a very important gospel which
restores the sacred feminine into Yeshua’s teachings. If you
want to dive deeper into it I can recommend the translation
from Coptic into English by scholar-mystic Jean-Yves Leloup
- ‘The Gospel of Mary Magdalene’.
Whether or not you choose to embrace the message from the Gospel of Mary is a matter
readers will decide for themselves.
The days of us being told what to believe are over, thankfully.
NOTICE WHAT YOU
ARE NOTICING
Carol Coggan
Notice what you are Noticing – and the impact on your
vibration
Welcome to September/October – did you have a good
summer? Do you view that summer is over and everything
changes? Yes, there is a change in the seasons but with the
current weather changes the seasons are not so
pronounced as in the past when we relied on the land. In
nature the colours change, the flowers of spring –
blues/yellows, become pinks/reds in summer and gradually
russet and orange in autumn. How do the colours impact on
you? How does the weather – rain, sun, hail and snow
impact on you? Yes, research has shown that sunlight has a
positive effect on our mental and physical well being but
the rain can be just as pleasurable.
Notice what you are noticing – so notice how you are
affected by colour and nature’s colours, notice how you are
affected by the weather. This all impacts on our vibration
and the way we go through life.
Talking to people at the summer Mind, Body, Spirit (MBS)
fairs, I realised most were affected by the weather, and did
not view it positively. When the rain did stop and the sun
came out then it was too hot! We have also experienced
various political upheavals, both in the UK and the world
along with massive energy changes in the solar system that
have affected our planet. All this has affected our
vibrations. So, notice what you are noticing. The Angels are
always there for us. They operate on a high vibration which
they scale down for us, at the same time as encouraging us
to raise our vibration so that we can co-create with the
Universe and experience the life we would love.
I offer one card Angel readings at the MBS fairs, people said
“life is bad enough”, “I don’t want to know the future”; “I
will explore the messages from the Angels when I have a
new job, more money, dealt with a loved one passing”...
17

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
I feel this is so sad, as the Angels and your Guardian
Angel(s) are with you all the time. The Universe and the
Angels only want what is best for you. They cannot
necessarily stop all the difficulties and problems, but they
can help you navigate through them with grace and ease.
Notice what you are noticing – I am noticing many people
feel stuck, feel burdened with issues/problems, are
influenced by the weather and are buffeted by the outside
energies around them. When ‘they do not want to know the
future’, it implies that our future is preordained/arranged
by someone outside themselves. Whereas, in reality, we
arrange/decide our future. Using the Law of Attraction, we
can co-create with the Universe and can manifest the
future we would love.
N o t i c e
When I draw the cards, the future card is an indication from
the Angels, that if you carry on doing what you are doing,
then the future card will manifest. If you do not like what
the card is telling you, then change what you are doing,
change your thinking. Notice what you are noticing, and
how your thinking and attitudes are affected, use your
thoughts and feelings as a guide then take action. Let’s cocreate
with the Universe the life you would love.
Often when we are stuck, we know what we do not want,
but do not know what we do want. Now is the time to
really think about your dreams/ your vision. If we are going
to co-create with the Universe, we need to let the Universe
know what we would love, not what we think is possible.
Jot down your vision in 4 areas- occupation/leisure; health;
relationships; time/money freedom. Notice what you are
noticing – when you are thinking about what you would
love, for each aspect of your vision. Does it give you joy?
Are you vibrating at a high level when you think about your
dream? Stick with it and get a clear indication of your
dream, then let the Universe and Angels know. Visualise
yourself in your vision, so when I meet you in a year’s time,
you are the person of your vision, wearing the colour for
you, working with the Angels, vibrating at a high level and
living your best life possible.
THE HIGHEST
GOOD
John Sjovik
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Many practitioners of energy healing often talk about
healing serving the highest good for the individual and
also the highest good for the universe as a whole. What
does that mean?
A quick look at the current discussions and politics that
occupy global news media clearly shows that ‘’the
highest good’’ is a contested and highly controversial
subject. There is an abundance of sub-optimization and
twisted uses of the concept.
When we keep our fingers crossed and mumble a
mantra under our breath, we mostly wish for a specific
outcome of an event or something that is about to
happen. But how do we know that failing an exam or
losing a job is not the best thing that could happen to
us? Regrettably, we do not always know what is best
for us. We trip ourselves up in our definition of ‘highest
good’. Many such definitions end up using similar
wording or even synonyms to that which is to be
explained. The result is a tautology or circular
reasoning.
We tend to listen too much to what other people say.
We feel insecure and ask people for advice. We try to
adhere to mainstream standards for success. We look at
our peers and feel envious of their alleged
accomplishments. We admire famous people and we try
to emulate their achievements.
One of my teachers in Shamanism highlighted the
importance of trying to avoid human and short term
aspects of ‘good’. From a spiritual point of view, a
particular outcome of a decision or event may not
appear as ‘good’ for the individual, when in fact it may
well be the ‘highest good’ from a cosmic, spiritual level.
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Many years ago, I drove a forklift truck in a warehouse in Sweden. One of the other drivers was involved in a
traffic accident. Regrettably, it caused severe damage to his right foot. As a consequence, he was unable to
continue his work, driving a forklift truck. I talked to him about it. He was deeply depressed and also
concerned because now he would have to transfer to what he dreaded the most, which was office work. After
some months, he told me it was not so bad after all. To his own amazement, he enjoyed learning new skills and
being involved in decision-making. Half a year later, the company opened a new plant in Belgium. My friend
and his family were offered a transfer there and they accepted the offer. A year later, my friend told me that
he was very happy in Belgium. He had learned a new language, made international friends and his career had
really taken off. His wife had found a job she was happy with. Their children spoke three foreign languages
and enjoyed the international vibes of the city and of school.
This story is an example of what was decidedly a bad event, that later turned out to generate very good
consequences for my workmate and for his family.
Summum bonum
During Greek antiquity, philosophers talked about ‘summum bonum’ as it is called in Latin, ‘summum’ meaning
highest and ‘bonum’ meaning good. However, what an epicurean meant by ‘good’ did not coincide with what a
stoic meant.
There is a clear division between material good (‘pleasure’) and metaphysical good(‘virtue’). This may appear as
obvious. However, when you think about it, it is easy to get lost in desires and dreams. If someone asked you
to describe a good life, the first thing that would spring to mind would probably not be virtuous behaviour,
impeccable ethics and being guided by an inner moral compass. Recently, I received an e-mail from a friend of
mine on holiday in Italy. He wrote that he was enjoying ‘the good life’. I doubt if he was referring to long
hours of meditation on a clifftop.
21

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
The Greek philosopher Socrates often talked about
being guided by a daemon, a divine inner voice, which
helped him to avoid making mistakes that would violate
a higher moral code. It is important to become
acquainted with what we could call ‘divine guidance’.
I leave it to my readers to interpret what is meant by
‘divine’; be it God, Source, Spirit, the Cosmos, our
forefathers or any other metaphysical entity. You will
note that I often use the word ‘Spirit’.
Try to find your own way to channel guidance offered
to you.
Be open for messages when you meditate. Note if there
is any particular emotion or thought that comes to you,
especially if it is recurring.
Write down your dreams in a diary. Review them from
time to time and look out for reappearing details.
Pay attention to synchronicities. Note if a particular
word keeps appearing in many different places. Maybe
you notice a certain colour that keeps attracting your
attention.
Be aware of anything unusual happening around you.
One morning before going to work, I asked Spirit for
advice. As I walked from the bus station to the office, I
suddenly saw a field hare jumping out of the bushes
right next to me. It ran slowly for a few moments, just
in front of me and then it took off across the
neighbouring fields and I lost sight of it, when it ran
into the woods on the other side. I paused for a
moment to consider what a field hare might symbolize?
What qualities did it possess? How did they translate to
me and my own situation as a human being?
My point is that it is important for you to exercise your
ability to experience the other-worldly, the
metaphysical aspect of existence. You will heighten
your sensitivity and be better equipped to communicate
with Spirit.
What is ‘the highest good’ seems to be obscured from
us human beings.
22

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
It is challenging for us to determine or understand the outcome of a desire, a wish, an event or a course of
action. It lies incumbent on us to try and control life in all its aspects, twists and turns. But we can only hope
for what we believe is the best. At the end of the day, we need to submit to and trust the unfathomable
wisdom of Spirit. For me, a good guideline is to trust, that things happen for a reason. As Albert Einstein put
it, ”God does not play dice”.
Aspects of ‘highest good’ in philosophy
The German philosopher Immanuel Kant probably owes his fame mostly to the moral philosophy he based on
what he called the ‘categorical imperative’. Briefly, it says that you should always act in accordance with a
principle that could be elevated to universal law. That way, every action should be bound by duty and pure
reason in accordance with an overall set of moral guidelines. Only then can it be considered as ‘good’.
In contrast with Kant, the philosophy and ethical theory called Utilitarianism focused on the outcome of an
action more than the action itself. Utilitarianism can be explained like this: ‘If in doubt, choose the action that
will produce the greatest possible happiness for the greatest possible number of people’. That would be a
guiding principle for the degree of virtue in any action or deed. Famous proponents for utilitarianism were
Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill.
A major topic for discussion in philosophy is known as ‘the status of morality’ or what it is that people are
doing when they make moral judgements. Consider this example: Suppose that it is raining. A judgement
based on an empirical observation is simply: ‘It is raining today’. So let us try to make a moral judgement. We
ask the question: ‘Is it morally good or bad that it is raining today?’
We need to consider aspects like the fabric of the society we live in and our personal subjective feelings. Is
there a set of normative ethics in society, which will tell you how something is supposed to be? If you live in a
city, rain may not be altogether a good thing.
23

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
If you live in a rural area, rain may be necessary for the farming community to grow crops and produce food,
and is therefore a good thing. As for the individual citizen, the view on rain may vary from person to person. It
may even vary for the same individual, for example if they are working or on vacation.
So if you ask Spirit/ The Cosmos /God to honour you with good weather and you get rain, would you consider
that a good answer to your prayers? Would it be consistent with ‘the highest good’? Think about it.
Calculus of ethical value
These days, mathematics has a way of entering most of what I write. That is the case also with this text.
Professor George David Birkhoff was a mathematician who presented some very interesting ideas on the use
of calculus to evaluate aestheticas well as ethical measure. In a series of public lectures, given at Rice Institute
in Houston, Texas, USA in 1941, Professor Birkhoff put forward this very simple formula:
M = G = ∑ (g1, g2, g3...) = ∑ (m1, m2, m3...)
M is the measurement of degree of ethical level.
G is the sum total of all the good that has been achieved.
In this respect, it is important to keep in mind that the overall good G is the sum total of all the single,
individual issues that constitute subsets of G. Let us call them g1, g2, g3 etc. Then each one should be
considered and evaluated by itself. We will then reach a subset of ethical measures that we can call m1, m2,
m3 etc.
We should see G as a symbol for the overall level of good, when we do a final analysis of a number of
decisions and actions. Each subset, g1, g2 etc, will consider various aspects such as altruism, utilitarianism,
egoism, short term, long term etc.
24

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
The qualitative characteristics of ‘highest good’
In keeping with the mathematical thinking of the previous passage, let us suppose I have a choice between
two lines of action. How can I determine which one will bring a higher degree of ethical value, level of good or
even reach the ‘highest good’?
As I see it, I need some kind of reference system, in order to find a measure of relative value. ‘Good’ and ‘bad’
is always in relation to something else. Indeed every experience or action is always in contrast to something
else. As an example, a fish never thinks that it is wet.
Let us for a moment consider the concept known as ‘Karma’. Thought and intent can be seen as the root cause
of our destiny. A thought connected with intent creates a feeling, a desire. That is in turn translated into
words and an action. Repeated actions become habits which become embedded into your personality. The
cycle of Thought / Intent -> Feeling /Desire -> Action will become part of all that which will be your destiny.
When people think of something that happens, they mostly think of the event itself. That is a quite natural
reaction. If a child is running in the countryside, trips on a tree root, falls and gets hurt, that is obviously a bad
thing. Yet, there is also an element of good in it. The child will (hopefully) learn to be more careful next time.
At the end of the day, there is no absolute knowledge or determination about any of the multitude of aspects
of life. Each moment in time, we arrive at a fork in the road.
We have to make a choice which way to turn.
Whether that will lead us on to our true path or not, is really impossible to say.
Even with a deterministic view of existence, we still have to make choices in life.
25

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
There is no absolute value of ‘the highest good’.
Can there exist an absolute status of ‘highest good’, without any contrasting to something else? Or does ‘good’
have to be in a reference system, in order to be able to determine a degree of ‘goodness’. How do you
determine if one action is better (‘more good’) than another action? My personal opinion is that we can easily
get lost in semantics, definitions and philosophies if we dig too deeply into questions of that kind.
In Shamanism, I have come across the concept of ‘agenda for your life’, supposedly co-written by yourself in
preparation for your next incarnation. Does that lock down a pre-determined model for your life, impossible to
influence by any decisions or choices, as they will also be pre-determined? I do not think so. The agenda will
be created in partnership with Spirit and on a much higher vibrational level than everyday decisions on planet
Earth. The agenda will be more concerned with intentions rather than actions. We will still enjoy our free will
in making choices. It is a good idea to try and familiarize yourself with the agenda for your life, as it will
provide guidelines for making those choices.
As I see it, ‘the highest good’ lies not in the outcome of our decisions, nor in the decisions themselves but in
the circumstances in which we took those decisions. On our journey through life, we accumulate knowledge
and experience. We process all those impressions, meditate on them, question them, analyze them and learn
from them. That way, we become more skilled at interpreting and understanding new impressions on our
continued journey through life.
So in a way, ‘our true path’ is more a way to relate to life and the world we live in, rather than the path we
actually tread. ‘The highest good’ is not about our destination. It is not even about our path towards that
destination. It is really about our attitudes, relations and intentions when we take decisions and make choices
as we live our lives.
We should try to sense the energy of a situation and act in such a way as to desire – without any anticipation -
the highest good, whatever that may be.
Martin Lewis
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
ARE YOU ‘LIVING A
LIE’?
I recently did some work with a client that revealed
this issue; in that he was living under a deception that
meant he could not sell his house.
I began wondering ‘How does this work’?
Certain dictionaries state that: ‘living a lie’ is ‘to live in
a false or deceptive way that does not show who one
truly is, or what one's feelings truly are’. It appeared to
me that this is not just about ‘one’s feelings’ - it not
only has a detrimental effect on one’s health, but
appears to negatively impact a person’s physical
existence, in that it disrupts the ‘truth ’ of the
individual’s life path, and steers one away from their
purpose.
In kinesiological terms, any ‘movement’, be it physical,
spiritual, mental or energetic, requires energy to be in
balance with ‘Universal truth’ - that is the undeniable
truth that cannot be negatively impacted upon, (on an
energetic level).
Rigidity in the body (for example) is generally caused
by fear, which creates the inability to move freely. The
emotions of fear and anxiety are more prevalent the
older we get. We can literally become ‘frozen’ with
fear, due to not knowing the best course of action
(movement) to take. This indecision is often the result
of ‘fear of consequence’ or ‘what if ’ thinking. This can
cause inflammation in the body tissues, as the body
tries to move against the mental/emotional block -
think of trying to push a brick wall down with your
bare hands ! - your muscles will become aggravated -
result INFLAMMATION !
So……..how does this relate to ‘living a lie’?
31

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Richard Bach (author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull) stated that: “Within each of us lies the power of consent to
good health, sickness, poverty and riches, to freedom and slavery. It is us that control these - not someone or
something else”. He also said that: “our worst lies are the ones that we tell ourselves. We live in a world of
denial. We give in to the demands and expectations of something or someone else, and live in denial of what we
say, think or do”.
Alex Daniel, a Law of Attraction practitioner, says that “We are all liars, and we tweak the truth every few
minutes - so much so that we do not realise that we are even doing it”. This can become habitual, to such a
degree we make the denial ‘invisible’ - by stating “I don’t do that” - when it is obvious that we do! This behaviour
can become so habitual that we ‘forget’ that we are doing it. We rarely hold our bad habits up for inspection.
What we tend to do is ‘forget’ them, and then expect others to go along with them. This behaviour is rife in
families, the workplace, and within personal relationships. It can also alter your DNA!
Narcissists are masters of this art, so much so that they live in a ‘fantasy land’ of expectation, demand and denial
most of the time.
Hopefully, you can see that ‘living a lie’ is like pushing against a brick wall with your bare hands - expecting it to
fall down! Continuing this behaviour will result in inflammation in the body, fatigue in the mind………and
apparently not being able to sell your house!
Your Liver relies on honesty, accuracy and integrity (especially with yourself). Therefore ‘living a lie’ will create
toxicity in the body, which is a perfect recipe for ill health.
You need your Liver to break down ammonium chloride in the body.
Why is this important?
32

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Ammonium chloride is an acid forming salt, and more interestingly is produced by WORRY! - which is why
worrying will make you sick, age quicker, and put your Liver under stress.
‘Living a lie’ exacerbates worry………. so you can hopefully see where this leads……….
What you CAN do is hold up all of your bad habits for inspection.
Formulating a new habit can take up to 2 months to become ingrained into your psyche.
THE ANCIENT
MEXIHKA METHOD
Yaoyolocoatl - The Warrior with the Wise Heart
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
The ancient Mexihka method which brings you into
balance - your OMETEOTL.
I am sitting here with Yolanda /Teyolotzin, her
Mexihka name in Nahuatl, the language of the
Mexihkas – “the strong heart “. She is one of the first
students of Miahuatzin - trained in UK. Started in
2003.
My name is Yaoyolocoatl – translated –“the warrior
with the wise heart.
We are contemplating this ancient Mexican healing
method.
Miahuatzin is our teacher, who has been a shaman
since she was 12 years old, a healer, herbalist and
intuitive from San Pablo Tecalco, the state of Mexico
near the Teocalli (the house of energy) Teotihuacan.
I have been a student since 2014, and learned to
appreciate this method more and more, which is so
vast and comprehensive in a different way. All
students of Miahuatzin learn the oral language
Nahuatl and become familiar with this so deeply
different way of living, seeing things, the philosophy
and taking care of oneself.
Miahuatzin always says – you should live close to
your nature, only then you are in balance. That’s why
it is so important to learn the Tonamaxiotl, ‘the
Mexihka counting of time' as well, to see which
energies influenced you when you were born. That's
your nature. Amongst all the other techniques and
healing methods.
All this will be taught in the courses offered here in
UK, and Europe. To become a curandera Mexihka.
35

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
The medicine names are given with a special initiation in Mexico during our 4th seminar.
Miahuatzin says, I have come three times to Europe to teach you; for your initiation, you will need to come
to Mexico to see where this method comes from.
It does make sense…
In this tradition, the different directions are important, like all that surrounds you! In the centre is your
balance – your Ometeotl.
To keep this Ometeotl, sometimes we need to cleanse, support and maybe retrieve, on many different
levels of the human being, the physical, mental, spiritual and soul level.
This can happen with sweat lodges called Temascalito – there are 52 different ways to perform
Temascalitos, with a big fire ceremony, with special stones Miahuatzin brought from Mexico. At the
moment we are offering Temascalitos in London Lewisham by request.
Other ways of healing are Tlahuayo, which is not a classic massage for relaxation, but rather a method to
diagnose, heal and activate the energy meridians, Limpias and Susto rituals to work with the etheric body
energies, using e.g flowers, herbs, eggs, and prayers.
This is what Miahuatzin says about Mexihka Pactli: The treatment starts the moment the person asks for a
treatment! This is the moment of connection! We, as curanderas are providing what the person/client
needs, to find balance as a cosmic being.
As cosmic beings we have a mission here to complete. Where there is an imbalance there is illness. This is a
study of millions of years, it doesn’t fall out of fashion, the world can change, but human being do not! She
is quoting her own teacher in Peru, who is approximate nearly 130 years old.
36

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
Miahuatzin was born, raised and rooted in San Pablo Tecalco, a village in the province of Mexico. She went
to Germany and Austria in 2001, a year later in 2002 to the United Kingdom, and has been coming since
then regularly to treat, and to give seminars about the Mexihka Pactli.
She lives and works with Xalli, her partner and colleague. They both travel to Europe, Austria, Italy and the
United Kingdom. Xalli is an advanced Mexihka curandera and translates for Miahuatzin - She hasn’t had time
to learn our language.
She says there will be more patients, and therefore more curanderas are needed. Her mission is to stay with
the work and continue the teaching.
Shaeen Svanede
Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
The search for knowledge
During our journey from childhood to old age, we humans go
through more or less the same life stages. We are in a
constant learning process from a young age when we start
crawling, walking and talking to when we eventually close our
eyes one day for our journey into the afterlife.
The quest for knowledge is both conscious and sub-conscious
and some sacrifices are happily made while others feel more
painful and undesired. We accumulate knowledge through
schooling and wisdom through experience in all the different
situations that we go through. Just try to name one person
who has never sacrificed anything, be it time, dedication,
money or sorrow, to achieve wisdom. Hopefully, we can all
say that we have become wiser over the years, even if we
might have wished to have gained even more of the
knowledge available.
Even our societies go through the same evolution, an empire
is not built without hardship. Since we lived in caves way back
in time we have gone through different stages where some
revolutionary discoveries and inventions have brought us to
where we are today. Yet there is so much more to discover to
make it to perfection, so many issues still unresolved. Just like
the development of each individual, society as a whole has
many new conditions to consider and challenges to overcome
for the benefit of all. Have we learnt anything or are we
constantly trying to reinvent the wheel?
Just as the teenager does not want to absorb the
accumulated wisdom of his parents, there seems to be a
short-sightedness in the various social structures on earth.
For millennia, humans have thought that what they believe in
is the authentic truth and claim their right to express it. On
one hand, this is a good thing because it gives rise to new
ideas; on the other, the old knowledge is sometimes grossly
disregarded. Let's look at what the old myths say.
38

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
The old myths
In Norse mythology, Odin, Thor and Loki are the three most
frequently mentioned characters. According to the Younger
Edda, which is a medieval book probably written by Snorri
Sturluson, a scholar and historian from Iceland, Odin could
actually have been an existing human being who was elevated
to godhood after his death. Odin was said to have migrated to
Svitjod which was the old name for Sweden from Tyrkland
which is now Turkey.
Odin is considered by many practitioners of the Norse
mythology to be the oldest, greatest and wisest of all the
Aesirs. The Aesirs were the warlike gods who ruled alongside
the more peaceful Vanirs. As well as being the god of war,
Odin is also seen as the protector of skaldic art and sorcery.
He is called by many names, including Allfather, Enöga and
Hangadrott. The latter two are based on the stories of his
sacrifices to gain knowledge.
Enöga
At the dawn of time, Odin had two brothers, Vile and Ve. His
brothers disappeared one day without ever returning. Odin
searched all the worlds of the World Tree Yggdrasil but
without any success. Then he turned to the omniscient Mimir
who sat at his well at one of the three roots of Yggdrasil. This
was the well of knowledge which provided Mimir not only
with wisdom but also with a great poetic spirit, in fact, the
greatest that the world had ever heard of. Odin asked Mimir
to partake of this magical water in order to learn the fate of
his brothers. Mimir then asked for a sacrifice in return and
Odin cut out his right eye and gave it to Mimir as his offering.
After that day, Odin gained knowledge of all that has been, all
that is and all that is to come and also the art of creating great
poetry. But what happened to his brothers was only for him
to know and was never told to anyone else. After this day the
name Enöga, meaning "One eye", was bestowed on him.
Hangadrott
Hangadrott means 'King of the hanged' and the name refers
to Odin's continuing quest for knowledge. After sacrificing his
eye to Mimir, Odin now wanted to understand more about
himself and of other living beings residing in the nine worlds
of Yggdrasil. The name of the tree derives from the words
Yggr, which is interpreted as 'the terrifying/dreaded’ and
drasil, which stands for a runner or a horse. Thus Yggdrasil
could be referred to as the terrifying horse.
39

Alchemical Voice - L2M - Issue 28
As a sacrifice to himself as they say in the sagas, Odin hung
himself upside down in Yggdrasil for nine days and nine nights
to undergo all the torments and agonies there was to endure
so that he could better understand himself and the world as a
whole.
He underwent great pain and sorrow experiencing not only
his own but others' experiences too and thereby gaining a
greater understanding of all there is to know.
During this quest, he was shown the runes which herald all
the knowledge and he went forth to teach his children and
some humans who were considered worthy apprentices, how
to read them.
Therefore the runes are seen both as letters to spread
knowledge and as sacred divination tools given from the gods.
The world Tree in other traditions
The world tree is also of great importance in the Kabbalah
and in other creation stories, including in the sense of being
the tree of knowledge such as in the Old Testament and the
Koran.
Buddha is said to have gained his great knowledge when he
was meditating under the Bodhi tree. The Mayan Indians
mention the world tree Whack Chan in their legends.
The Zoroastrians refer to a tree called Gaokerena which is
said to give immortality when you drink its fruit juice which
could be compared to the resurrection of the Aesirs and the
Vanirs after Ragnarok, but that's another story.
Conclusion
The stories of Odin's sacrifices show that one has to go
through various hardships to reach knowledge and wisdom.
The symbolism of the old tale is clear and demonstrates the
ever-present truth that wisdom is to be sought but with a
price to be paid.
My question is why can’t we better utilize the accumulated
wisdom that already exists in order to create the best
conditions for ourselves and the world?
The old myths not only raise questions but also provide a lot
of answers. So I will keep on searching in the old sagas and
the story will continue...
MY SPIRITUAL
JOURNEY
Harj Rayatt
I am thrilled to share my experience following a
Spiritual Path Course I completed with Love 2
Meditate. This course was for psychic empowerment
and has profoundly impacted my life and spiritual
journey, helping me discover new dimensions of my
inner self and the unseen world around me.
When I first enrolled on the Course, I was curious but
somewhat nervous. Spirituality had always fascinated
and intrigued me, yet I was not sure of what to expect
from a structured course on the subject, especially on
psychic empowerment! From the very first session, I
realised this was no ordinary journey. The course was
designed to guide us through the realms of spiritual
awakening, self-discovery, and higher consciousness
which I absolutely loved.
One of the most significant aspects of the course was
connecting to my spirit guides and power animals on a
deeper level which I was able to do at the first session!
These ethereal beings, who guide and protect me have
never left my side since. Through guided meditations
and exercises, I learned how to quieten my mind, open
my heart, and connect with my guides. The experience
was nothing short of magical. Initially, I doubted
whether I could truly sense or communicate with these
beautiful beings, but with practice, I began to feel their
presence more distinctly and they are now my spiritual
support every day and I call on them whenever I need
their guidance, advice or comfort.
Connecting with my guides has brought a sense of
comfort and reassurance into my life. In moments of
doubt or difficulty, I have found solace in knowing that
I am not alone and that there is a greater purpose to
my existence. This newfound connection has
deepened my faith and trust in the universe and any
fears that once paralysed me have melted away and I
feel free, free to live my life the way I want without
any judgement from myself or others.
Another profound change that the Spiritual Path Course
brought into my life was the development of clairvoyance.
Before the course, I had fleeting moments of intuition or insight,
but I often dismissed them as coincidences. The Course taught
me how to harness and refine this ability, turning sporadic
glimpses into clear visions. This has been an empowering
experience, providing me with guidance and clarity in various
aspects of my life.
By unlocking the new sense of clairvoyance, I really see the
world for what it is. I remember vividly the first time I had a
clear clairvoyant experience during a guided meditation. It was
as if a veil had been lifted, revealing a vibrant, energetic world
packed with symbols and messages. These visions have helped
me make more informed decisions, understand the underlying
energies of situations, and connect more deeply with others. I
frequently receive messages from the spirit realm for those
nearest and dearest to me and find there is a great sense of
healing for the recipient which fills my heart with so much love
and joy.
The course also emphasised the importance of grounding and
protecting myself. As you open up to higher vibrations and
spiritual experiences, it is crucial to remain grounded to Mother
Earth and protect your energy field. These practices have been
invaluable in maintaining balance and ensuring that my spiritual
growth does not come at an expense to my wellbeing.
One of the unexpected benefits of the Spiritual Path Course
was the sense of community it fostered. Sharing this journey
with like-minded individuals created a supportive and nurturing
environment. We shared our experiences, challenges, and
breakthroughs, learning from one another and growing together.
Reflecting on my journey on the Spiritual Path Course, I am
filled with gratitude. It has been a catalyst for profound personal
growth and spiritual awakening. The tools and techniques I have
learned continue to shape my daily life, helping me navigate the
complexities of the human experience with greater ease and
grace.
If you are considering embarking on a similar journey, I
wholeheartedly encourage you to take the leap! Look for a
course that you are drawn to like I was with The Spiritual Path
Course. These courses have the potential to open doors you
never knew existed and to connect you with the deeper truths
of your being. It has certainly done so for me, and for that, I am
eternally grateful.
This journey has not only enriched my spiritual life but has also
brought a sense of peace, purpose, and connection to my
everyday existence.
Love and Light to you.
“Ambulance.
Please hurry. It’s my
sister” Robert blurted out,
the terror and panic quite
obvious in his fast delivery
of the short sentence.
“What’s your location,
please” the call responder
asked.
“The end of Vine Lane,
Stoke D’Abernon, where
the path to the river is.”
He looked at Richard as if
for confirmation. Richard
nodded, his eyes wide and
his features pinched in
concern.
“Please hurry,” Robert
added, a sob catching in
his throat.
“I think she might be
dying.”
The last was a plea
delivered with a sob
released from impotent
despair.
