rabbit hair, he did not imagine that his name would become, over a century later, a French historic brand of headwear.

In 1924, David Hanna Snr started a small tailoring firm in the townland of Donegal on Ireland’s north-west coast.

Due to the decline in the market for bespoke tailored suits, he decided to shift his business vision into the making of

handcrafted hats and caps.

The very first ‘Hanna Hat’ was created in 1964, taking four and a half hours to complet. It was named the ‘Hanna Hat’

and given the style number ‘84’.

That old-age tradition of bespoke tailoring has played a major role in the transition of the current range of
