Our<br />
HISTORY<br />
1977 Reconstruction of the old part.<br />
1983 / 1984 <strong>Hotel</strong> Sonnberg was<br />
acquired, the rooms were completely<br />
refurbished. A covered corridor was<br />
added, connecting Sonnberg and<br />
<strong>Alpina</strong>.<br />
1964 Karl Heinz Platzer<br />
and his mother Rosa<br />
Platzer opened their first<br />
bed & breakfast accommodating<br />
up to 45 guests.<br />
1966 The guesthouse was slightly refurbished<br />
and enlarged (entrance, restaurant, lobby).<br />
1971 The B&B accommodated<br />
already 110 guests. A large<br />
dining hall was added – as well<br />
as the “Zirbenstube” pine wood<br />
parlor and a spacious lobby with<br />
open fireplace.<br />
1997 The rooms above the dining<br />
hall were reconstructed, adding<br />
living areas of up to 167 m² in size.<br />
2000 A residential building for the<br />
hotel employees was opened. The<br />
sauna parlor was enlarged, and a<br />
new panorama relaxation room was<br />
opened.<br />
1985 An indoor pool & a sauna parlor<br />
were built by the Platzer Family.<br />
2007 <strong>Hotel</strong> <strong>Alpina</strong> saw extensive<br />
construction works: the entire wellness<br />
parlor was refurbished, a large<br />
underground parking area was built, a<br />
new fitness room and a ski & ski boot<br />
storage room were added.<br />
1988 All 18 south-facing rooms<br />
were refurbished to <strong>Alpina</strong> junior<br />
suite standard. Also Sonnberg’s<br />
southern rooms were enlarged<br />
and improved.<br />
1991 A new hotel lobby was built<br />
right above the indoor pool, the<br />
whole entrance-reception area was<br />
newly designed. The dining hall and<br />
the “Zirbenstube” pine wood parlor<br />
were extended. New deluxe double<br />
rooms were added, D category and<br />
in part C category.<br />
2001 <strong>Alpina</strong>’s kitchen was newly<br />
built, while the rooms located above<br />
were freshly designed and extended.<br />
2003 The hotel’s main entrance<br />
changed and the sun terrace was extended<br />
– as well as the non-smoking<br />
dining hall. Also the buffet room in<br />
the dining hall was newly designed.<br />
2010 Newly designed indoor pool area.<br />

Check-in and check-out: In general, Saturday and Sunday are check-in and<br />
check-out days. Other days only on prior arrangement depending on occupancy.<br />
Your room is available from 4.00 pm on the day of arrival. We kindly ask you to<br />
leave your room by 11.00 am on the day of departure. Child discount in extra<br />
bed: free of charge up to 2 years, 3 to 14 years -50%, from 15 years onwards<br />
-40% (valid only in a room with two full-paying persons). All prices apply for<br />
stays of 3+ days.<br />
Child supervision: Free children supervision for kids over 3 years from Sunday<br />
to Friday all day long from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm.<br />
Cancellation fees: In case of cancellation up to 90 days before arrival no fees<br />
(deposits less expenses for monetary transactions will be transferred back).<br />

The days spent together in our seminar rooms, covering<br />
about 167m², create a high level of added value in a truly<br />

The unlimited possibilities of the Ötztal Alps. Since the<br />
beginning of alpinism in the 19th century, people have<br />
been fascinated by the rear end of the Ötztal Valley for<br />
good reasons: 95 square kilometers of glacier surface,<br />
mountain peaks up to almost 3800 meters, raging<br />
mountain brooks and snowy slopes as far as the eye<br />
can see.<br />
The Ötztal Nature Park can be found directly in front of our<br />
seminar rooms while, on the other side of the valley, the<br />
superb Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area stretch es up to the<br />
summits, offering 112 kilometers of wide open and snowsure<br />
slopes.<br />
All these features broaden your seminar due to joint<br />
activities, teambuilding processes in the mountains and -<br />
