The 2023-2024 school year has
been a year of amazing learning
experiences—and our students
continue to shine as we enter 2024-
2025. From college acceptances for
our graduating class to increased
support of our fine arts and athletics,
it has been a privilege to see our
school thrive this year as we work
toward our mission of inspiring
independent thinkers, principled
leaders, and humble learners. Every
student—from our preschool children
to the upper school seniors—has
a bright future ahead, and I look
forward to seeing what greatness we
have in store for the spring semester.
This year, All Saints Academy has
focused on increasing our capacity
to support students in their college
application process. Our students
continue to be accepted into their
first-choice colleges—something I am
proud to witness in each graduating
class. Rigorous college-prep
academics and individualized higher
education advising prepare All Saints
students for the next steps after
graduation, and we have maintained
our 100% college acceptance rate for
ASA seniors.
Alongside our excellent collegeprep
curriculum, students have
the opportunity to thrive in a
variety of extracurricular activities.
Teamwork and confidence grow in
our athletic teams, while creativity
and expression flourish through the
fine arts.This well-rounded approach
to preparing our students for higher
education helps build tomorrow’s
leaders in our communities.
As we look toward 2024, I also want
to share my immense gratitude for
our All Saints faculty and staff. Our
students enter college prepared and
confident thanks to your hard work
and passion—and our community
thanks you for all of your efforts.
The Annual Report highlights our
appreciation for your generosity
—and the wonderful work of our
students, faculty, staff, parents,
grandparents, and friends. I am
grateful that you are a part of our
school community—and I invite you to
celebrate All Saints Academy with me.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Hardage
Head of School
“ and grow in our
“The achievements of this school
year have been a testament to the
and the
strength of our community.”
As we reach the end of the 2023-
2024 school year, I would like to take a
moment to reflect on the remarkable
accomplishments we have witnessed.
All Saints Academy has continued to be
a place where students thrive, excelling
in a well-rounded environment that
encompasses academics, athletics, and
the arts. Each day, we see the fruits of
our collective efforts through the college
acceptances, scholarship awards, and
various achievements of our students.
From day one, our college preparatory
focus is evident in the extraordinary
accomplishments of our students.
As Chair of the Board of Trustees, and as a
parent of three All Saints graduates, I have
had the privilege of witnessing firsthand
the transformative impact of the education
offered here. My youngest daughter, now
a sophomore at Tulane University, recently
expressed her gratitude for her time at
All Saints. She cherishes the education she
received, the friendships she made, and
the comprehensive preparation that has
given her a confident start in her college
journey. It is immensely gratifying to see
how All Saints Academy prepares students
for future success, and it is an honor to see
our students develop into independent
thinkers, principled leaders, and lifelong
learners.
The lasting impact of All Saints Academy
on my family is a testament to the school’s
dedication to nurturing every aspect of a
student’s development. Our college-prep
academics, premier fine arts programs, and
championship athletics continue to support
and elevate our students’ learning journeys.
The achievements of this school year
have been a testament to the greatness
of our students and the strength of our
community.
As we conclude this academic year, I eagerly
anticipate the continued excellence and
the remarkable accomplishments that lie
ahead. At All Saints Academy, we remain
committed to ensuring that our students’
futures shine bright.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rigoberto Cornejo
Chair, Board of Trustees
The Halo Fund is the foundation of ASA's fundraising efforts. It
supplements tuition by providing crucial support for financial aid,
professional development, core activities, and program enrichment.
Essential for creating an exceptional educational environment, the
Halo Fund helps students become independent thinkers, principled
leaders, and lifelong learners. Tuition alone does not cover all operating
expenses, making the Halo Fund our most vital fundraising initiative.
Your contributions bridge this financial gap, ensuring a thriving academic
experience and bright futures for all students.
In the 2023-24 fiscal year, the Halo Fund raised $345,000, which
significantly enhances educational opportunities for our community.
Halo Fund FAQ
With my family already paying tuition, what does
my child get when we give to the Halo Fund too?
Your gift supports the people and programs that make ASA so
special. This means talented teachers. Small classes. Reading
and math resources that many public schools simply can’t afford.
Up-to-date technology. Accommodations for different learning
styles. And exceptional offerings in everything from the arts to
athletics.
While your child is in school, all this translates into more
personal attention, increased intellectual stimulation, better
discipline, and more rigor. In the future, it will mean greater
credibility behind the academic credentials your child will possess
throughout life.
Gifts are necessary because tuition gives your child access
to more than you’re paying for. That’s why schools need
endowments, auxiliary money making activities such as summer
camps, and, yes, fundraising. Inevitably, the special offerings that
prepare students for the 21st century drive the budget up. So—
just as universities and even public schools now do—ASA invites
parents, grandparents, alumni parents, alumni, and friends for
financial support.
ASA has beautiful grounds, lovely buildings, and
many other pricey features. It sure doesn’t look
like it needs money. Why should I give?
It’s easy to overestimate how affluent schools are. If they charge
$18,000 or more for tuition and enjoy attractive facilities, you
may naturally assume that a school must be rich, the teachers are
well paid, and the financial needs are minimal. But for the vast
majority of independent schools like ASA, tuition does not cover
the full cost of educating a child. At most day schools, tuition
pays only 90% of the costs.
If ASA is planning for a capital campaign, why
should I give for new buildings and programs the
school won’t offer until after my child graduates?
In any school that’s more than 10 or 15 years old, parents of
previous generations of students gave the money to fund the
resources your child enjoys today. As the saying goes, all children
are warmed by the fires built by others. Correspondingly, it’s
up to today’s parents to help make sure that the school exists
for children 10, 20, and 30 years from now. It’s a pay-it forward
situation—you’re paying dues to the future. But there is also a
more self-serving motivation. Your generous investment in the
enhancements of tomorrow will build the school’s long-term
reputation which will always benefit your child as an adult.
How much should I give to the Halo Fund?
That is an independent choice for every family. We encourage
each family to make All Saints Academy a philanthropic priority.
By our example, we teach our students -- our future leaders -- the
value of giving generously to help others. There are giving levels
to suit each individual’s comfort level.
Who should give to the Halo Fund?
Everyone who believes in inspiring independent thinkers,
principled leaders, and humble learners. First, we ask every
member of our internal community (Board of Trustees, Faculty,
Staff, Administration, and Current Parents) to demonstrate faith
in our mission by making a Halo Fund gift. We also invite our
school alumni, parents of alumni, and grandparents to join us in
this initiative.
If ASA were run in a more businesslike way,
couldn’t it charge the full cost and avoid having to
ask for Halo Fund gifts?
A for-profit business, whose mission is to make money, is not
an appropriate model for a school, whose mission is to provide
children with a great education. By nature, high-quality schools
are labor-intensive and people oriented; on average, salary and
benefits make up about 70% of a day school’s budget.. These
schools cannot get more efficient by combining classrooms or
reducing staff.
What it comes down to is this: The rising cost of faculty salaries
and benefits drives the cost of independent school education.
ASA needs to pay its faculty members enough to enjoy quality
lifestyles and support their families within a reasonable distance
of the school. To offer competitive salaries and provide the
programs you want your children to have, ASA has to raise
tuition, offer those summer camps and auxiliary programs, and
ask you for a Halo Fund gift.
How does financial aid fit into the fundraising
picture?
Your gifts help ASA offer the financial aid that supports a diverse
and talented student body. True, many schools do not fund
financial aid budgets directly through donations. Instead, they
usually allocate a set percentage of the expected tuition revenue.
But, without donations sufficient to meet operating costs, more
tuition dollars would have to go to operations— leaving fewer
dollars for financial aid. Your gifts make the school affordable to
a wider range of students, bringing your child the many benefits
of social and economic diversity.
Are there more reasons to give?
Of course. Many people take pride in the recognition that comes
with appearing on the list of the school’s supporters. Others
enjoy being involved in fundraising activities because it lets them
make social contacts. Some view giving as a way to become
active stakeholders who help their school achieve goals. And
finally, unlike tuition payments, gifts to independent schools are
tax-deductible.
How much of a difference can my gift make?
ASA has fewer supporters than a university or a large charity
does. Because the number who will give is small but the need is
large, every gift counts more. This reasoning leads many families
to make their children’s school their philanthropic priority. They
know their gifts are an investment that truly pays off.
When should I give to the Halo Fund?
ASA launches our Halo Fund effort at the beginning of the
school year and we focus most of our fundraising effort in the
fall. As the year moves forward, you may receive a few frequent
reminders encouraging calendar year end (December 31) and
fiscal year end gifts (June 30) to support the Halo Fund.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
We would love to help you learn more about our Halo Fund and
why it’s so important. You can contact Sophia Coyne at (863)293-
5980 ext. 2292 to continue the conversation about giving to ASA
and how your partnership helps us inspire independent thinkers,
principled leaders, and humble learners.
ASA parents and friends were transported to the
Roaring 20’s at this year’s Gala. Held on January
27, 2024, at the beautiful Haus 820 in downtown
Lakeland, the Gala provided an opportunity to
socialize and have fun while raising money for
ASA. Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and
drinks while taking in the many packages offered
at the silent and live auction. Congratulations
to Gala Chair, Tricia Gurr, and her committee
for orchestrating a memorable evening; the
decorations were spectacular, the entertainment
was delightful, and the collective commitment to
our School was evident. Over $105,000 was raised
to support ASA. Well done!
ENDOWMENT
Endowment growth is an area of
strategic importance for ASA as the
endowment can provide a steady source
of income to ASA, making it possible for
the School to be less reliant on tuition
and annual fundraising programs to
balance the budget each year. The
endowment provides long-term
financial strength to the School and
remains a core component in planning
for the future.
ASA is deeply grateful to parents,
alumni, alumni parents, grandparents
and friends who have supported our
endowment over the years. These
donors leave a lasting legacy, ensuring
our financial strength, expanding our
curricular and extracurricular offerings,
and continuing to attract and retain
exceptional faculty and students.
STRATEGIC PRIORITY
Endowment growth is an area of
strategic importance for ASA. Giving
to the Endowment Fund provides a
unique opportunity to you as a donor
to make a dramatic impact on a part
of the ASA experience that you care
about the most. Gifts and pledges to
the endowment in the form of cash or
appreciated securities have the most
immediate impact. However, gifts to the
endowment can also occur over a longer
term through bequests in estates, gifts
of real estate, and structured planned
giving instruments.
ASA endowment funds are invested in
perpetuity and fund income provides
resources used to meet current
operating budget priorities. Gifts
may be given through outright and
multi-year cash gifts, gifts of stock,
or bequests. As always, the School
is committed to transparency of all
financial objectives as well as faithful
stewardship to past and future donors.
If you are considering an endowment
gift or have any questions, please call or
email the Development Office at
(863) 293.5980 ext. 2292 or
development@allsaintsacademy.com
Endowment gifts to ASA can be
designated in the following ways:
• Unrestricted gifts (of any amount)
can be made to the endowment
which ensures our ability to sustain
the financial strength of ASA.
• Gifts can be used to establish a new
endowed fund. A minimum gift level
of $25,000 is required for naming
rights.
• Gifts (of any amount) can be made
to any one of our existing named
endowed funds should there be
one that reflects your philanthropic
interests. See below for our existing
funds.
planned gifts
You can make a lasting contribution to
future generations by designating ASA
as a beneficiary of your estate through a
bequest, charitable trust, retirement plan,
or insurance policy. Donors interested in
making a planned gift or bequest should
seek the advice of their own financial
advisor before creating or revising an
estate plan.
matching gifts
Corporate matching gifts are a great
way for ASA alumni, parents and friends
to maximize personal contributions and
increase the impact of their donation.
If your employer has a matching gift
program, be sure to send your company’s
matching gift form with your ASA
contribution. We will return the form to
your company, which will issue a matching
gift contribution directly to ASA. An
ASA donor receives full credit for both
the original gift and the amount of the
matching gift.
stock gifts
Many donors may realize substantial
tax advantages by transferring gifts of
appreciated stock to the School. Gifts of
securities are valued at the median price
on the date of transfer to ASA.
