travelogue "Beside the Bright Ohrid Lake":
"When you bathe in Lake Ohrid on a sunny day, and suddenly emerge from its

with silver, transparent, large, and small bubbles. In each of them, the sun

FORTRESS

Samuel's Fortress. As one of the largest fortresses in North Macedonia, it has
undergone many changes over the years and now stands as a significant cultural
and historical landmark.

ST. JOVAN KANEO
One of the most renowned churches in the Ohrid region, St. Jovan Kaneo is
situated in a unique location with a breathtaking view of Lake Ohrid.
Although some of its frescoes have been damaged due to past destruction,
the church remains a captivating site. We also recommend visiting the small
but charming city beach located at its base.

ANCIENT THEATER
The Ancient Theater, situated near the Upper Gate, dates back to the Hellenistic
and Roman periods. While only seven of the original 30 rows have survived, the
theater has been fully renovated. Since 2001, it has been the venue for the Ohrid
Summer Festival.
PLAOSHNIK
Located in the southern part of the old city of Ohrid, the Plaoshnik locality is an
important archaeological site. It features the remains of large early Christian
basilicas and the church of Saint Panteleimon, where Saint Kliment Ohridski
once worked. On August 11, 2002, the new church of Saint Kliment and Panteleimon
was consecrated on this site, and it later became the resting place for
the relics of Kliment Ohridski.
